கடலுக்குள் உருவான “மகரம்” – தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்கு புதிய மான்ஸ்டர் சவால்!
தமிழ் திரையுலகில் மான்ஸ்டர் ஜானரில் முழுமையான சயின்ஸ் பிக்சன் அனுபவத்தை வழங்கும் நோக்கில் உருவாகியுள்ள “மகரம்” திரைப்படத்தின் டீசர் வெளியீட்டு விழா கோலாகலமாக நடைபெற்றது. ராக்ஸ் நேச்சர் என்டர்டெயின்மென்ட் தயாரிப்பில், இயக்குநர் A. அகஸ்டின் பிரபு இயக்கியுள்ள இந்த படம், தொழில்நுட்ப ரீதியாகவும் காட்சியமைப்பிலும் புதிய முயற்சியாக பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.
கடலும் கற்பனையும் கலந்த சினிமா
ஹாலிவுட் தரத்திற்கு இணையாக கடல் மையப்படுத்தப்பட்ட காட்சிகளுடன் உருவான இந்த திரைப்படத்தின் 70% காட்சிகள் நேரடியாக கடலுக்குள் படமாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. ராமேஸ்வரம், தூத்துக்குடி உள்ளிட்ட பகுதிகளில் நடைபெற்ற படப்பிடிப்புகள் சவால்களால் நிரம்பியதாக இருந்தன. இயற்கையின் எதிர்பாராத சூழ்நிலைகளுக்கு மத்தியில் பாதுகாப்பை உறுதி செய்து, தரத்தில் எந்த சமரசமும் இன்றி படக்குழு பணியாற்றியுள்ளது.
700-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட VFX காட்சிகள் இடம்பெற்றுள்ள இந்த படம், தமிழ், மலையாளம், தெலுங்கு, கன்னடம், இந்தி மற்றும் ஆங்கிலம் உள்ளிட்ட பல மொழிகளில் உலகளவில் வெளியாகவுள்ளது.

விழாவில் பேசிய படக்குழுவினர்கள், இது ஒரு பெரிய தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனத்தின் முயற்சி அல்ல; ஆனால் பெரிய கனவுகளுடன் இணைந்த ஒரு உறுதியான அணியின் முயற்சி என வலியுறுத்தினர். கதையின் வித்தியாசம் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப தரமே படத்தின் பலம் என அனைவரும் ஒருமித்த கருத்து தெரிவித்தனர்.
இசையமைப்பாளர் ஆதர்ஷ் சந்திரசேகரன், “புதிய அணியாக இருந்தாலும் வித்தியாசமான கதையை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து தைரியமாக செயல்பட்டுள்ளோம். திரையரங்கில் அனுபவிக்க வேண்டிய படம் இது” என குறிப்பிட்டார்.
நடிகர் அஜித் விக்னேஷ், “இந்த படத்தின் உண்மையான ஹீரோக்கள் பத்திரிகையாளர்கள்தான். பெரிய பெயர்கள் இல்லாமல் நாங்கள் இந்த படத்தை உருவாக்கியுள்ளோம். உங்கள் எழுத்தே இந்த படத்தின் வெற்றியை தீர்மானிக்கும்” என ஊடகங்களிடம் வேண்டுகோள் வைத்தார்.

இந்த படத்தில் பல புதிய திறமைகள் இணைந்துள்ளனர். முதல் முழுநீள திரைப்பட அனுபவம் என்றாலும், ஒவ்வொருவரும் தங்களின் முழு அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் பணியாற்றியதாக நடிகர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர். கடலில் நடைபெற்ற படப்பிடிப்பு, நீந்தும் காட்சிகள், ஸ்டண்ட் காட்சிகள் என பல சவால்களை அவர்கள் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டனர்.
நடிகை இஷிதா, மொழி வேறுபாடு இருந்தாலும் படக்குழு அளித்த ஆதரவை நெகிழ்ச்சியுடன் குறிப்பிட்டார். “படத்தின் பெரும்பாலான காட்சிகளில் மேக்கப் இல்லாமல் நடித்தேன்; கதையின் இயல்பை பாதுகாக்கும் முயற்சிதான் அது” என்றார்.

“Makaram” Rises from the Deep – A New Monster Challenge for Tamil Cinema!
The teaser launch event of Makaram, a full-fledged science fiction film in the monster genre, was held in a grand manner. Produced by Rocks Nature Entertainment and directed by A. Augustine Prabhu, the film is being hailed as a technically ambitious and visually striking attempt in Tamil cinema.
A Cinematic Experience Born in the Sea
Positioned on par with Hollywood-style filmmaking, nearly 70% of the film was shot in real sea locations, including Rameswaram and Thoothukudi. The shoot was filled with challenges, as the team worked amidst unpredictable natural conditions. Despite the risks, no compromises were made in quality.
Featuring over 700 VFX shots, Makaram will be released worldwide in multiple languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and English.
“Small Team – Big Dream”
At the event, the team emphasized that this is not the effort of a massive production house, but the result of a determined team driven by a big vision. They highlighted that the film’s uniqueness lies in its story and technical execution.
Music composer Adarsh Chandrasekaran stated that though the team is new, they boldly chose a different kind of story and executed it with confidence. He described it as a film that must be experienced in theatres.
Actor Ajith Vignesh noted that the real heroes of the film are the journalists and media members. Without big stars attached, the team relies on strong writing and media support to take the film to the audience.
New Faces, New Confidence
The film introduces several new talents. For many of them, this marks their first full-length feature experience. The actors shared how shooting in the sea, performing underwater sequences, and handling stunt scenes were physically demanding yet rewarding experiences.
Actress Ishitha expressed gratitude for the warmth shown by the team despite language differences. She mentioned that she performed nearly 80% of her scenes without makeup to maintain the authenticity of the character.
The Birth of the “Rocks Cinematic Universe”
Producer Ram Manikandan revealed that Makaram is not just a standalone film but the first release under the newly conceptualized “Rocks Cinematic Universe.” The vision is to interconnect multiple stories within a shared cinematic world.
Director Augustine Prabhu shared that his dream was to create a true monster experience in Tamil cinema. He added that what audiences saw in the teaser is only a small glimpse, with much bigger surprises awaiting in the full film.
