‘Mersal’ Returns to Theatres Ahead of Chief Minister Vijay’s Birthday; A Grand Celebration for Fans

As part of the celebrations leading up to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s first birthday after assuming office, his blockbuster film Mersal is set to make a grand return to theatres. The re-release announcement has generated tremendous excitement among fans, who continue to cherish the film as one of the actor’s most memorable works.

Directed by Atlee, Mersal was originally released during the 2017 Deepavali festival and went on to become a massive commercial and critical success. Featuring Vijay in three distinct roles, the film remains one of the most celebrated milestones in his cinematic career.

With Vijay’s birthday falling on June 22, the film is being re-released on June 19 as a special tribute to the occasion. In the City Chengalpattu distribution territory, covering Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Tiruvallur districts, the film is scheduled to be screened in around 100 theatres.

The special re-release is being presented by Kennedy under the banners of KP Films and KP Priyanka Productions. Having successfully distributed several films in the past, Kennedy aims to turn the re-release of Mersal into a memorable celebration for Vijay’s fan base.
