சரத்குமார் நடிக்கும் ‘ஆழி’ திரைப்படத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழா சென்னையில் கோலாகலம்
தமிழ் திரையுலகின் முன்னணி நட்சத்திர நடிகர் சுப்ரீம் ஸ்டார் சரத்குமார் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்துள்ள ‘ஆழி’ திரைப்படத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழா சென்னையில் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது.

Music Launch of Sarathkumar-starrer ‘Aazhi’ Held Grandly in Chennai
The music launch of Aazhi, starring Supreme Star Sarathkumar in a pivotal role, was held in a grand manner in Chennai.
Directed by acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Madhav Ramadasan, Aazhi features Sarathkumar alongside Indrajith Jagan, Devika Sathish, Vaiyapuri, Thamaraiselvi, Sreejith Ravi, and several others. The film’s cinematography is handled by Anand N. Nair, while Jesse Gift has composed the music. Academy Award winner Resul Pookutty has designed the sound for the film.
Made as a crime thriller, Aazhi is produced by Sajith Krishnan under the banners 888 Productions and Celluloid Creations, and is distributed across Tamil Nadu by Uthra Productions. The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on February 27.
The music launch event was attended by the film’s cast and crew, along with special guests including South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce President Ravi Kottarakkara, director Udaya Sankaran, and distributors Abbas A.J. and Hari Uthra. Ravi Kottarakkara officially released the music, which was received by the dignitaries and the film team.
Speeches at the Event
Distributor Hari Uthra stated that releasing quality films in theatres has become increasingly challenging in today’s market, and that good content itself is hard to come by. He expressed confidence that Aazhi would mark a significant turning point. A longtime admirer of Sarathkumar, he said it was a pleasure to distribute the actor’s film and urged industry bodies to unite and evolve better business models for the welfare of Tamil cinema.
Actress Thamaraiselvi, addressing the audience for the first time on stage, thanked the director and producer for the opportunity. She recalled meeting Sarathkumar during Bigg Boss and said she felt proud to now act alongside him.
Actor Vaiyapuri shared his happiness at reuniting with Sarathkumar after many years. He mentioned playing a father’s role in the film and praised the director’s efficiency. He appealed to audiences to support the film upon its release.
Actress Devika Sathish said Aazhi is her third Tamil film and that she plays Sarathkumar’s daughter. She described him as both a co-actor and a father figure on set. She highlighted Resul Pookutty’s involvement as a major strength of the film.
Actor Indrajith Jagan expressed gratitude to the director for the opportunity and said working with Sarathkumar was an unforgettable experience. He described Sarathkumar as a huge inspiration, especially for his discipline, punctuality, and dedication.
Producer Ravi Kottarakkara drew a parallel between the depth of the sea and the depth of Sarathkumar’s acting. He noted that Sarathkumar has portrayed a wide range of characters throughout his career and continues to explore new dimensions even today. He praised director Madhav Ramadasan’s unique screenplay and Resul Pookutty’s sound design, which captures the very sound of the sea.
Director Madhav Ramadasan said Aazhi is his first Tamil film and that directing a Tamil movie had been a long-cherished dream. He explained that nearly 70% of the film takes place at sea, making sound design crucial. He shared anecdotes about the intense effort involved in recording realistic sound effects, including those of a dog that plays an important role in the film.
Sound Designer Resul Pookutty spoke fondly of Sarathkumar, praising his discipline, energy, and professionalism. He said he had mixed the film three times to achieve perfection and highlighted the collaborative spirit of South Indian cinema. He also complimented actress Devika Sathish’s screen presence and wished the entire team success.
Actor Sarathkumar, in his address, said he was drawn to the film because of its unique narrative and the director’s clarity of vision. He described Aazhi as a content-driven film without conventional commercial elements like songs or dance numbers, but with a grand story at its core. He spoke about evolving audience tastes and emphasized that acting remains the same across mediums. He revealed that he plays a character with negative shades in the film and urged audiences to experience this unique cinematic journey in theatres.
