தமிழ்நாட்டின் அரசியல் மற்றும் சமூக வரலாற்றில் முக்கிய இடம் பெற்ற நிகழ்வுகளை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ள இந்த திரைப்படம், 1965 ஆம் ஆண்டு நடைபெற்ற இந்தி திணிப்பு எதிர்ப்பு போராட்டத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டு கதை சொல்லுகிறது.
அடையாளம், மொழி மரியாதை மற்றும் சமூக விழிப்புணர்வு போன்ற கருப்பொருட்களை முன்னிறுத்தும் இப்படம், வரலாற்றுச் சூழ்நிலையில் சிக்கிக் கொள்ளும் இரண்டு சகோதரர்களின் உணர்ச்சி மிகுந்த பயணத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. நடிகர் சிவகார்த்திகேயன், இந்தி திணிப்புக்கு எதிராக போராடும் கொள்கை உறுதியான இளைஞர் ‘செழியன்’ கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்துள்ளார்.

நடிகர் சிவகார்த்திகேயன், ‘செழியன்’ கதாபாத்திரம் தனது நடிப்பு வாழ்க்கையில் முக்கியமான மற்றும் சவாலான வேடங்களில் ஒன்றாக அமைந்துள்ளதாகவும், நம்பிக்கை மற்றும் துணிச்சலை வெளிப்படுத்தும் இந்த கதாபாத்திரம் ரசிகர்களிடம் நல்ல வரவேற்பைப் பெறும் என நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்தார்.
நடிகை ஸ்ரீலீலா, இப்படத்தில் ‘ரத்னமாலா’ என்ற கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்துள்ளார். இந்த வேடம் அமைதியான உறுதியையும் மனிதநேய உணர்வையும் பிரதிபலிப்பதாக இருப்பதால், இப்படத்தில் இணைந்தது தனது திரைப்பட பயணத்தில் ஒரு முக்கிய மைல்கல்லாக அமைந்துள்ளதாக அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

‘Parasakthi’ to Premiere on ZEE5 – A Political Drama Rooted in Historical Events
Leading digital streaming platform ZEE5 continues its efforts to bring socially and politically relevant stories to audiences. As part of this initiative, the much-anticipated political action drama ‘Parasakthi’ will have its digital premiere on February 7 on ZEE5. The film will be available not only in Tamil but also in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sudha Kongara, the film is produced by Aakash Baskaran under the banner of Dawn Pictures. The movie is inspired by significant political and social events in Tamil Nadu’s history and is set against the backdrop of the 1965 Anti-Hindi Imposition agitation.
Focusing on themes such as identity, linguistic pride, and social awareness, the film narrates the emotional journey of two brothers who get drawn into a historic political movement. Actor Sivakarthikeyan plays the lead role of Sezhiyan, a principled young man actively involved in the protest against Hindi imposition.
Speaking about the film, director Sudha Kongara said that Parasakthi was born out of a strong desire to tell a story about people’s identity, language, and rights. She added that the film does not merely depict a political movement but also explores how such movements impact the lives of ordinary people.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan described Sezhiyan as one of the most meaningful and challenging roles of his career. He expressed confidence that the character, which represents courage, responsibility, and conviction, will resonate well with audiences.
Actress Sreeleela, who plays the character Rathnamala, stated that the role reflects quiet strength and compassion. She described being part of a culturally and historically significant film as a major milestone in her career.
