India’s leading multi-genre music and lifestyle festival, Vh1 Supersonic, is back to sweep you off your feet after a 3-year hiatus. The comeback of the music festival brings a power-packed ensemble of multi-genre artists.
Amongst the artists expected this year is the techno-savvy English duo, Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scalla, CamelPhat! This extremely talented duo turned themselves into one of the most in-demand record-imprinters on a global scale. Uniquely mixing deep-house with quick twitchy techno drums for a unique melodic tune, the techno-rock stars are ready to fuel up Vh1 Supersonic with progressive, trance-inspired synths.
Whelan and Di Scala released several remixes under various names such as The Bassline Hustlers, Men from Mars, and Da Mode. Under the name Pawn Shop, they released Shot Away, based on a sample of Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones, which peaked at number 100 on the UK Singles Chart. Camelphat released several singles as Whelan & Di Scala on various labels, including their own label Bachelor Pad Recordings. The two DJs also released music using other aliases such as Wheels & Disco, Mancini, and Shake n’ Jack. In June 2019, they released Be Someone, a collaboration with Jake Bugg, as the lead single from their upcoming debut album.
Vh1 Supersonic is a legendary festival that has made quite a reputation for itself for presenting an eclectic mix of indie and international artists, year after year. This time around, you can expect artists like Prateek Kuhad, DIVINE, Farhan Akhtar, as well as Stalvart John, Anushka, Sunflower Tape Machine, and Bengaluru’s hip-hop/pop duo RANJ x Clifr, amongst others.
Given the umpteen global and Indian musicians who are being platformed in this edition, it is safe to say that Vh1 Supersonic is making a comeback as explosive as its name! Haul yourself to Mahalakshmi Lawns, Pune from 24th to 26th February, 2023 to be a part of this ‘Festivals of Firsts’ and relive the feeling of being young, wild, and free!
