“மீண்டும் ஒரு படத்தை இயக்க உள்ளேன்” – 50வது ஆண்டு நிறைவில் கே. பாக்யராஜ் அறிவிப்பு!
தமிழ்த் திரையுலகின் முக்கியமான இயக்குநர், நடிகர், வசனகர்த்தா, திரைக்கதை ஆசிரியர் என பன்முகத் திறமை கொண்ட கே. பாக்யராஜ், திரையுலகில் தனது 50 ஆண்டுகால பயணத்தை நிறைவு செய்துள்ள நிலையில், தனது பிறந்த நாளை முன்னிட்டு இன்று பத்திரிகையாளர்களை சந்தித்து மனம் திறந்து பேசினார்.
இந்த சந்திப்பில் மக்கள் தொடர்பாளர்களான டைமன் பாபு, சிங்காரவேல், ரியாஸ் K அஹ்மத் ஆகியோர், கே. பாக்யராஜ் அவர்களுக்கு சால்வி அணிவித்து மரியாதை செலுத்தினர். தொடர்ந்து நிகழ்வில் கலந்துகொண்ட அனைத்து பத்திரிகையாளர்களுடனும் அவர் நினைவுப் புகைப்படம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்.
பத்திரிகையாளர்களை நோக்கி பேசிய கே. பாக்யராஜ்,
“அனைத்து பத்திரிகையாளர்கள், ஊடகவியலாளர் நண்பர்களுக்கும் என் வணக்கம். அனைவருக்கும் என் புத்தாண்டு வாழ்த்துகள். சினிமாவில் 50 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவு செய்துள்ளேன் என்பதை நினைத்தாலே இன்னும் எனக்கு ஆச்சரியமாகத்தான் இருக்கிறது”
என்று தனது உரையை தொடங்கினார்.
தொடர்ந்து அவர், “என் நண்பர்கள், என் தாயார் என அனைவரும், நான் சினிமாவில் நிச்சயம் வெற்றி பெறுவேன் என்று நம்பிக்கை கொடுத்தார்கள். ‘16 வயதினிலே’ படத்தில் தான் எனக்கு முதன்முறையாக பணிபுரிய வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தது. அந்த படத்தில் பணியாற்றிய அனைவருக்கும் அடுத்தடுத்த ஆண்டுகளில் பெரிய வாய்ப்புகள் கிடைத்தன என்று சமீபத்தில் கமல் ஹாசன் அவர்களே குறிப்பிட்டார்” என்று நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்.
வாய்ப்புகளை தேடிய ஆரம்ப கால அனுபவங்களை பகிர்ந்த அவர்,
“பலரிடம் என் உண்மையான பெயரை சொல்லாமல், ‘கோவை ராஜா’ என்று சொல்வேன். ‘16 வயதினிலே’ படத்தில் தான் என் அம்மா வைத்த பெயரான ‘பாக்யராஜ்’ என்ற பெயரை பயன்படுத்த ஆரம்பித்தேன். அம்மாவின் பாக்கியம் என்னை விட்டு போகக் கூடாது என்பதற்காகவே கே. பாக்யராஜ் என்ற பெயரை வைத்துக் கொண்டேன்”
என்று உணர்ச்சிபூர்வமாக தெரிவித்தார்.
துணை இயக்குநராக இருந்து, வசனகர்த்தா, திரைக்கதை ஆசிரியர், நடிகர் என படிப்படியாக வளர்ந்த தன் பயணத்தை நினைவுகூர்ந்த அவர்,
“‘கிழக்கே போகும் ரயில்’ படத்தின் போது ஒரு கழுதையை கொண்டு வர வேண்டிய பொறுப்பு எனக்கு கிடைத்தது. அந்த புகைப்படங்கள் போஸ்டர்களாக வெளியானபோது, என் குடும்பத்தினர் ‘கழுதை இழுக்கவா சினிமாவுக்கு போனாய்?’ என்று கிண்டல் செய்தார்கள். ஆனால் அப்போது என் தாயார், ‘உன் இயக்குநர் உன்னை வைத்து ஒருநாள் ஹீரோவாக படம் எடுப்பார்’ என்று சொன்னார்கள். அது உண்மையாகவே நடந்தது. ஆனால் அந்த படம் வெளியாகும் முன்பே என் தாயார் மறைந்துவிட்டது தான் என் வாழ்க்கையின் பெரிய வருத்தம்”
என்று மனம் நெகிழ பேசினார்.
தொடர்ந்து அவர்,
“முதல் படத்திலேயே ஹீரோவாக நடித்த பிறகு, இரண்டாவது படத்தில் வில்லன் வேடமும் ஏற்றேன். பின்னர் இயக்குநராக அறிமுகமானேன். இதற்கெல்லாம் பத்திரிகை நண்பர்களின் ஆதரவே முக்கிய காரணம்”
என்று நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.
தன் வாழ்க்கையில் நேர்மை எப்படி விதைக்கப்பட்டது என்பதையும் அவர் பகிர்ந்தார்.
“சிறுவயதில் பள்ளி முடிந்து வந்தவுடன் அம்மா தேன் மிட்டாய் வாங்க காசு கொடுப்பார். ஒருநாள் அம்மா இல்லாத நேரத்தில், பெட்டியில் இருந்ததை எடுத்துக் கடையில் கொடுத்தேன். பின்னர் அது காசு அல்ல, தங்க மோதிரம் என்று தெரிந்தது. கடைக்காரர் அதை நேர்மையாக திருப்பி கொடுத்தார். அந்த சம்பவம், நேர்மை என்றால் என்ன என்பதை சிறுவயதிலேயே எனக்குப் புரிய வைத்தது” என்று கூறினார்.
மேலும் அவர்,
“எம்.ஜி.ஆர் மக்களுக்கு செய்த நல்ல காரியங்கள், சிவாஜி அவர்கள் புதிய இயக்குநர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த மரியாதை, கமல் ஹாசனின் நடிப்பு, ‘16 வயதினிலே’ படத்தில் பார்த்த ரஜினிகாந்த் – இவை அனைத்தும் என் மனதில் ஆழமாக பதிந்த விஷயங்கள்”
என்று நினைவுகளை பகிர்ந்தார்.
உரையின் இறுதியில் முக்கிய அறிவிப்பாக,
“அடுத்ததாக ஒரு வெப் தொடரையும், ஒரு திரைப்படத்தையும் இயக்குவதற்கான பேச்சுவார்த்தைகள் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன. இந்த வருடம் பல புதிய முயற்சிகளை மேற்கொள்ள தயாராக இருக்கிறேன்”

“I Will Be Directing a Film Again” – K. Bhagyaraj Announces on His 50th Year in Cinema
Veteran filmmaker, actor, dialogue writer, and screenwriter K. Bhagyaraj, one of Tamil cinema’s most respected multi-talented artists, met the press today on the occasion of his birthday, marking the completion of 50 glorious years in the film industry.
During the interaction, public relations professionals Daiman Babu, Singaravel, and Riyas K. Ahmed honored K. Bhagyaraj by presenting him with a ceremonial shawl. Bhagyaraj later posed for photographs with all the journalists present at the event.
Addressing the media, Bhagyaraj said,
“My greetings to all journalists and media friends. I extend my New Year wishes to everyone. Even today, it feels unbelievable that I have completed 50 years in cinema.”
Reflecting on his early days, he said that his friends and his mother always believed he would succeed in the film industry.
“My first opportunity came with ‘16 Vayathinile’. Recently, Kamal Haasan mentioned that everyone who worked on that film went on to receive major opportunities later, something very rare in cinema.”
Recalling his struggle period, Bhagyaraj shared,
“While searching for opportunities, I often introduced myself as ‘Kovai Raja’ instead of my real name. It was during ‘16 Vayathinile’ that I adopted the name Bhagyaraj, which was given to me by my mother. I chose to keep it as K. Bhagyaraj so that my mother’s blessings would always remain with me.”
He spoke about his journey from assistant director to dialogue writer, screenplay writer, actor, and finally director. Speaking about the film ‘Kizhakke Pogum Rail’, he recalled an incident where he was tasked with bringing a donkey for a scene.
“The photographs later appeared on posters, and my family joked, asking if I had gone to cinema to pull a donkey. But my mother confidently said that one day my director would make me a hero. That indeed came true, though sadly, my mother passed away before the film’s release.”
Bhagyaraj further stated that after debuting as a hero, he played a villain in his second film ‘Kanni Paruvathile’, before making his debut as a director.
“The support of journalists played a major role in my journey, right from my days as an assistant director.”
Sharing a childhood incident that shaped his values, he said,
“Once, as a child, I unknowingly gave my mother’s gold ring to a shopkeeper, thinking it was money. The shopkeeper honestly returned it. That incident taught me the importance of honesty at a very young age.”
He also spoke about the inspirations who shaped him, including M.G. Ramachandran’s compassion for people, Sivaji Ganesan’s respect for directors regardless of their experience, Kamal Haasan’s acting brilliance, and Rajinikanth, whom he first saw during ‘16 Vayathinile’.
“Rajinikanth remains the same even today,” he remarked.
Thanking the media for their constant support, Bhagyaraj said,
“Journalists have always stood by me and helped take every film to the people.”
Making an important announcement at the end, he revealed,
“Discussions are currently underway to direct a web series and a feature film. I am ready to take on several new creative ventures this year.”
He concluded by expressing his heartfelt gratitude to journalists, friends, and audiences who have supported him throughout his 50-year cinematic journey.
