கர்மா என்ற நம்பிக்கையை வாழ்க்கை முழுவதும் வழிகாட்டியாகக் கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒரு சாதாரண தையல்காரனின் வாழ்க்கையில் ஏற்படும் திடீர் மாற்றங்களும், அவனை எதிர்கொள்ளும் ஆபத்தான எதிரியும் இந்த திரைப்படத்தின் மையக் கருத்தாக அமைந்துள்ளது. ஆக்ஷன் கலந்த உணர்ச்சி சார்ந்த கதைநடையில் உருவான இந்த படம், மகேந்திரனின் நடிப்பு திறனை வேறு கோணத்தில் வெளிப்படுத்தும் முயற்சியாக பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

A New Turn with OTT Release… Mahendran’s “Neelakanda”

Actor Mahendran, who began his journey in Tamil cinema as a child artist and later gained recognition through distinctive roles, is now set to meet audiences as a full-fledged action hero through his latest film “Neelakanda.” Skipping a theatrical release, the film is premiering directly on an OTT platform, marking a new phase in his cinematic career.

Mahendran, who acted alongside several leading stars during his childhood, earned recognition as “Master Mahendran.” Over time, he expanded his acting range by choosing roles that emphasized strong storytelling. Notably, his portrayal of the young villain “Bhavani” in actor Vijay’s film Master brought him significant acclaim and strengthened his position in the industry.

Following that success, Mahendran has diversified his career by working in films as well as web series. He has also expanded his presence across South Indian cinema by acting in Malayalam and Telugu films. Now, he reaches audiences with “Neelakanda,” which has been made in both Tamil and Telugu.
Produced by LS Productions, the film is written and directed by Rakesh Madhavan. The film is produced by M. Srinivasulu and D. Venugopal, while Anil Inamadugu has served as the executive producer. Cinematography and editing have been handled by Sravan G. Kumar, and the music is composed by Mark Prashanth.

Alongside Mahendran, the film features Yashna Muthuluri, Neha Pathan, Snehulal, Ramki, Babloo Prithviraj, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Bharat Reddy, Sathya Prakash, Chitram Seenu, Sivakarthik Thanda, and others in important roles.

The film revolves around the life of a simple tailor who strongly believes in karma. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a dangerous enemy, and the story follows how he confronts the challenges that arise. Blending action with emotional depth, the film is seen as an attempt to showcase Mahendran’s acting abilities from a fresh perspective.

Mahendran’s “Neelakanda” has premiered today on the Sun NXT OTT platform, generating strong anticipation among fans.
