‘டாடா’ வெற்றிக்குப் பிறகு கணேஷ் கே. பாபுவின் அடுத்த துணிச்சல் முயற்சி! புதிய ஹீரோ அஜய் கார்த்தியை நம்பி உருவான ‘டார்க்’

தமிழ் சினிமாவில் சமீப காலமாக உள்ளடக்கத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்ட திரைப்படங்கள் ரசிகர்களின் வரவேற்பைப் பெற்று வருகின்றன. அந்த வரிசையில், புதுமுகங்களை முன்னிறுத்தி உருவாகியுள்ள சைக்காலஜிக்கல் ஹாரர் திரில்லர் திரைப்படமான ‘டார்க்’, தனது முன்னோட்ட வெளியீட்டு விழாவிலேயே திரையுலகினரின் கவனத்தை ஈர்த்துள்ளது.

எம்.ஜி. ஸ்டூடியோஸ் சார்பில் ஏ.பி.வி. மாறன், இயக்குநர் கணேஷ் கே. பாபு மற்றும் ஃபைவ் ஸ்டார் கிரியேஷன்ஸ் கே. செந்தில் இணைந்து தயாரித்துள்ள இந்தப் படத்தை அறிமுக இயக்குநர் கல்யாண் கே. ஜெகன் இயக்கியுள்ளார். கதையை ‘டாடா’ படத்தின் மூலம் கவனம் பெற்ற கணேஷ் கே. பாபு எழுதியுள்ளார்.

நாயகனாக அஜய் கார்த்தி நடித்துள்ள இந்தப் படத்தில் அஞ்சனா நேத்ரன், நட்டி நட்ராஜ், கே. பாக்யராஜ், சிபி சக்கரவர்த்தி, விடிவி கணேஷ் உள்ளிட்ட பலர் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடித்துள்ளனர். ரவி சக்தி ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்துள்ள இப்படத்திற்கு மனு ரமேசன் இசையமைத்துள்ளார்.

சென்னையில் நடைபெற்ற முன்னோட்ட வெளியீட்டு விழாவில் இயக்குநர் பா. ரஞ்சித், நடிகர்கள் கௌதம் கார்த்திக், ரியோ, கலையரசன், தயாரிப்பாளர் டி. சிவா உள்ளிட்ட பலர் கலந்து கொண்டு படக்குழுவினருக்கு வாழ்த்து தெரிவித்தனர்.

விழாவில் பேசிய தயாரிப்பாளர் மணிமாறன், “மலையாளம் மற்றும் வெளிநாட்டு மொழிகளில் வெளியாகும் தரமான திரில்லர் படங்களைப் போல தமிழிலும் ஒரு திரைப்படம் உருவாக வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தில் ‘டார்க்’ உருவாகியுள்ளது. இந்தப் படம் அஜய் கார்த்தியை தமிழ் சினிமாவின் முக்கிய இளம் ஹீரோக்களில் ஒருவராக மாற்றும்” என்றார்.

தயாரிப்பாளர் டி. சிவா, “இன்றைய ரசிகர்கள் புதுமையைத் தேடுகிறார்கள். அந்த வகையில் ‘டார்க்’ புதிய அனுபவத்தை வழங்கும் படமாக இருக்கும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை எனக்கு இருக்கிறது” என்று குறிப்பிட்டார்.

நடிகர் ரியோ பேசுகையில், “சைக்காலஜிக்கல் திரில்லர் படங்களுக்கு தனி ரசிகர்கள் மட்டுமல்ல, குடும்ப ரசிகர்களும் இருக்கிறார்கள். ட்ரெய்லரிலேயே அந்த ஈர்ப்பு தெரிகிறது. ‘டார்க்’ அந்த வகையில் பெரிய வரவேற்பைப் பெறும்” என்றார்.

நட்டி நட்ராஜ், “அஜய் கார்த்தி இந்தக் கதாபாத்திரத்தை ஏற்றுச் செல்ல முடியுமா என்ற சந்தேகம் ஆரம்பத்தில் இருந்தது. ஆனால் படத்தைப் பார்த்த பிறகு அந்த எண்ணமே மாறிவிட்டது. மிகச் சிறப்பாக நடித்திருக்கிறார்” என்று பாராட்டினார்.

இயக்குநர் பா. ரஞ்சித், “அஜய் கார்த்தியின் திரைநிலை மிகவும் வலுவாக இருக்கிறது. புதிய திறமைகளை நம்பி படங்களை உருவாக்கும் முயற்சி தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்கு அவசியம். அந்த வகையில் ‘டார்க்’ முக்கியமான படமாக அமையும்” என்றார்.

நாயகி அஞ்சனா நேத்ரன், “முதல் படத்திலேயே அனுபவம் வாய்ந்த நடிகர்களுடன் பணியாற்றியது எனக்கு பெரிய வாய்ப்பு. அஜய் கார்த்தி மிகவும் அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் உழைத்துள்ளார்” என்று கூறினார்.

நடிகர் கௌதம் கார்த்திக், “ட்ரெய்லரில் காட்சியமைப்புகளும் எழுத்தும் மிகவும் வலுவாக தெரிகிறது. அஜய் கார்த்தி தமிழ் சினிமாவிற்கு கிடைத்திருக்கும் நல்ல நடிகர்” என்று பாராட்டினார்.

நிகழ்ச்சியின் முக்கிய அம்சமாக, தயாரிப்பாளராக மாறியுள்ள இயக்குநர் கணேஷ் கே. பாபு தனது திரைப்பயண அனுபவங்களை பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார். இயக்குநராக வேண்டும் என்ற கனவை அடைய பல ஆண்டுகள் போராடிய பின்னர் ‘டாடா’ திரைப்படம் தனது வாழ்க்கையை மாற்றியதாக அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

மேலும், “டார்க் என்பது ஒரு திரைப்படம் மட்டுமல்ல; ‘டாடா’ படத்தில் எந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பும் இல்லாமல் எனக்காக உழைத்த நண்பர்களுக்கு நான் சொல்லும் நன்றிக்கடன். அதனால்தான் இந்தப் படத்தை உருவாக்கினேன்” என்று உணர்ச்சிபூர்வமாக பேசினார்.

அஜய் கார்த்தி குறித்து பேசிய அவர், “இந்தக் கதையை எழுதும்போது வேறு ஒரு முன்னணி நடிகரை மனதில் வைத்திருந்தேன். ஆனால் அஜய் நடித்த விதத்தைப் பார்த்த பிறகு, இந்தப் படம் முழுவதும் அவருடையதாக மாறிவிட்டது. இது அவரது முதல் படம் என்று யாரும் நம்ப மாட்டார்கள்” என்று பாராட்டினார்.

நாயகன் அஜய் கார்த்தி பேசுகையில், “சினிமாவை முறையாக கற்றுக்கொண்ட பள்ளிக்கூடம் ‘டார்க்’. இது ஒரு எக்ஸ்பிரிமென்டல் சைக்காலஜிக்கல் ஹாரர் திரில்லர். ரசிகர்களுக்கு புதிய அனுபவம் தர வேண்டும் என்பதே எங்கள் நோக்கம்” என்றார்.

இயக்குநர் கல்யாண் கே. ஜெகன், “நானும் புதுமுகம், ஹீரோவும் புதுமுகம், நாயகியும் புதுமுகம். எங்களால் முடிந்த சிறந்த முயற்சியை திரையில் கொடுத்துள்ளோம். ரசிகர்கள் நிச்சயம் வித்தியாசமான அனுபவத்தை பெறுவார்கள்” என்று நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்தார்.

பல்வேறு தொழில்நுட்ப அம்சங்களுடன் உருவாகியுள்ள ‘டார்க்’, வழக்கமான பேய் படங்களைத் தாண்டி உளவியல் திகிலையும் திரில்லர் அனுபவத்தையும் இணைத்து ரசிகர்களை கவரும் முயற்சியாக உருவாகியுள்ளது. அனைத்து பணிகளும் நிறைவடைந்துள்ள நிலையில், படம் விரைவில் திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியாகவுள்ளது.

After the Success of Dada, Ganesh K. Babu’s Next Bold Venture – Dark, a Psychological Horror Thriller Backing New Talent

Content-driven films have been receiving tremendous support from Tamil cinema audiences in recent years. Joining that trend is Dark, a psychological horror thriller that has already garnered attention within the industry through its trailer launch event.

Produced by A.P.V. Maran under MG Studios, along with director Ganesh K. Babu and K. Senthil of Five Star Creations, the film marks the directorial debut of Kalyan K. Jagan. The story has been penned by Dada fame Ganesh K. Babu.

The film stars Ajay Karthi in the lead role alongside Anjana Nethran, Natti Natraj, K. Bhagyaraj, Ciby Chakravarthy, VTV Ganesh and several others in pivotal roles. Cinematography is handled by Ravi Sakthi, while Manu Ramesan has composed the music.

The trailer launch event, held in Chennai, witnessed the presence of prominent personalities including director Pa. Ranjith, actors Gautham Karthik, Rio Raj, Kalaiyarasan and producer T. Siva, who extended their best wishes to the team.

Speaking at the event, producer Manimaran said, “Dark has been made with the intention of bringing to Tamil cinema the kind of high-quality thriller experience often seen in Malayalam and international films. I believe this film will establish Ajay Karthi as one of the most promising young heroes in Tamil cinema.”

Producer T. Siva remarked, “Today’s audiences are looking for freshness and originality. I am confident that Dark will offer a unique cinematic experience and stand out from the crowd.”

Actor Rio Raj shared, “Psychological thrillers are not just for a niche audience; family audiences also enjoy such films. The trailer itself carries that appeal, and I believe Dark will receive a strong response.”

Actor Natti Natraj said, “Initially, I wondered whether a newcomer could shoulder such a demanding role. But after watching the film, all my doubts disappeared. Ajay Karthi has delivered a remarkable performance.”

Director Pa. Ranjith praised the young actor, saying, “Ajay Karthi has a strong screen presence. Tamil cinema needs more films that place their faith in new talent, and Dark is one such important effort.”

Actress Anjana Nethran expressed her gratitude, saying, “Working alongside experienced actors in my very first film has been a blessing. Ajay Karthi is incredibly hardworking and dedicated.”

Actor Gautham Karthik added, “The visuals and writing showcased in the trailer are impressive. Ajay Karthi is a promising addition to Tamil cinema.”

One of the highlights of the event was producer and writer Ganesh K. Babu’s emotional speech about his journey in cinema. Recalling his struggles to become a filmmaker, he revealed that Dada changed the course of his life after years of perseverance.

“Dark is not just a film; it is my way of thanking the friends who stood by me and worked with me selflessly during Dada. This film is my gratitude to them,” he said.

Speaking about Ajay Karthi, Ganesh K. Babu added, “When I wrote this story, I had another established star in mind. But after seeing Ajay’s performance, the film completely became his. No one will believe this is his first film.”

Lead actor Ajay Karthi described Dark as a milestone in his career. “This film has been my learning ground. It is an experimental psychological horror thriller created to offer audiences a fresh and engaging cinematic experience,” he said.

Director Kalyan K. Jagan shared, “The hero, heroine and I are all newcomers. We have given our best to bring something unique to the screen. I am confident audiences will appreciate the effort.”

With a strong technical team and an intriguing premise, Dark promises to go beyond conventional horror cinema by blending psychological tension with thrilling storytelling. Having completed all production work, the film is now gearing up for its theatrical release soon.
