14ஆம் நூற்றாண்டு தென்னிந்திய வரலாற்றை பிரம்மாண்டமாக திரையில் கொண்டு வருகிற ‘திரெளபதி 2’ படத்தின் ப்ரீ ரிலீஸ் நிகழ்ச்சி சென்னையில் மிகச் சிறப்பாக நடந்தது. நெடாஜி புரொடக்ஷன்ஸ் சோலா சக்ரவர்த்தி, ஜி.எம். ஃபிலிம் கார்ப்பரேஷனுடன் இணைந்து தயாரிக்கும் இந்தப் படத்தை மோகன் ஜி இயக்கியுள்ளார். ரிச்சர்ட் ரிஷி ஹீரோவாகவும், ரக்ஷனா இந்துசூடன் ஹீரோயினாகவும், நட்டி நடராஜ் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரத்திலும் நடித்துள்ளனர்.
நிகழ்ச்சியில் கலந்து கொண்ட ஒவ்வொருவரும் படத்தைப் பற்றி பேசும்போது ஒரே விஷயம் தெளிவாக இருந்தது –
“இது ஒரு சாதாரண படம் இல்லை… ஒரு வரலாற்றுப் பெருஞ்சாதனை!”
YG மகேந்திரன் பேசும்போது,
“சின்ன ரோல் தான்… ஆனா கதை கேட்ட உடனே ‘வைப்’ சூப்பர். ட்ரெய்லர், பாடல் எல்லாம் பார்த்தா மோகன் இந்த படத்தை வேற லெவலுக்கு எடுத்துட்டு போயிருக்கார். இது இன்னொரு ‘பாகுபலி’ மாதிரி இருக்கும். தேசபற்று, கலாச்சாரம், வரலாறு – மூன்றையும் சேர்த்த மாஸ் படம்” என்றார்.
எம்.எல்.ஏ. கேப்டன் தமிழ்ச்செல்வனின் சகோதரர் மோகன்,
“பூஜை போட்டு ஆரம்பிச்சது எங்க அண்ணன். சின்ன சின்ன பிரச்சனைகள் வந்தாலும் மோகன் ஜி அசராம படத்தை முடிச்சார். படம் வெற்றி பெறணும்” என்று மனதார வாழ்த்தினார்.
தொழில்நுட்பக் குழுவினரும் தங்களது அனுபவங்களை பகிர்ந்தனர்.
எடிட்டர் தேவராஜ்,
“இந்த மாதிரி பெரிய வரலாற்றுப் படத்தில் வேலை செய்தது பெருமை” என்றார்.
ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் பிலிப் கே சுந்தர்,
“10 வருடங்களுக்கு பிறகு தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்கு திரும்ப வந்தது இந்தப் படத்தால்தான்” என்று நெகிழ்ச்சியாக பேசினார்.
எழுத்தாளர் ஆறு அண்ணல்,
“வீர வல்லாள மகாராஜாவின் கதையை மோகன் மூலமா திரையில் பார்க்கிறேன். இது ஒரு அரசரின் கதை மட்டும் இல்லை… தர்மம், நம்பிக்கை, சிவபக்தி எல்லாம் கலந்த ஒரு வரலாற்றுக் காவியம்” என்று விவரித்தார்.
நடிகர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும்,
“இவ்வளவு பெரிய பீரியட் படத்தில் நடிப்பது ஒரு கனவு”
“லைவ் லொகேஷன், குறைவான சிஜி, பிரம்மாண்ட செட், ஹார்ட் வொர்க் – எல்லாமே ரியல்”
என்று ஒரே குரலில் பாராட்டினர்.
ரக்ஷனா இந்துசூடன் பேசும்போது,
“‘திரெளபதி’ன்னு பெயரே ஒரு நெருப்பு. அந்த பெயரை சுமக்கறது பெரிய பொறுப்பு. இந்த கதாபாத்திரத்துக்காக உடல், மனசு, எமோஷன் எல்லாமே மாற்றிக்கிட்டேன். பொங்கலுக்கு வரலாற்று படம் தியேட்டரில் வருகிறது – உங்கள் ஆதரவு வேண்டும்” என்று உணர்ச்சியாக கூறினார்.
ரிச்சர்ட் ரிஷி,
“ஒரு வருடம் குதிரை பயிற்சி, கத்திசண்டை, தினமும் 16 மணி நேரம் உழைப்பு. சம்பளத்தை விட கதையில்தான் நம்பிக்கை” என்று சொல்லி அனைவரையும் கவர்ந்தார்.
இறுதியாக மோகன் ஜி பேசும்போது அரங்கமே அமைதியானது.
“இது ஒரு கமர்ஷியல் பீரியட் படம் தான். ஆனால் சொல்லப்பட வேண்டிய வரலாறு. எந்த மதத்தையும் காயப்படுத்தும் நோக்கம் இல்லை. வெளிநாட்டிலிருந்து நம் நாட்டை ஆக்கிரமிக்க வந்த படையெடுப்பின் கதை. 31 நாட்களில் இந்த மாதிரி பெரிய படத்தை எடுக்க காரணம் – என் டீம், என் நடிகர்கள், என் தயாரிப்பாளர். பொங்கலுக்கு ‘திரெளபதி 2’ உங்கள் அனைவரையும் திருப்தி படுத்தும்” என்றார்.

தமிழ் வரலாறு, வீரத்தனம், பண்பாடு, அரசியல், ஆன்மிகம் – எல்லாம் கலந்த ஒரு பெரும் சினிமா அனுபவம் என்று அந்த மேடையிலிருந்த ஒவ்வொருவரின் பேச்சும் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்தது
‘Draupathi 2’ – Pre-Release Event Highlights (In a fresh, conversational style)
The pre-release event of Draupathi 2, which brings the grandeur of 14th-century South Indian history to the big screen, was held in Chennai in a spectacular manner. Produced by Sola Chakravarthy under Netaji Productions in association with GM Film Corporation, the film is directed by Mohan G. Richard Rishi plays the lead, with Rakshana Indhusoodan as the heroine and Natti Nataraj in a key role.
From everyone who spoke on stage, one thing was crystal clear –
“This is not just another film… it’s a historical spectacle.”
Actor YG Mahendran said,
“Even though my role is small, the moment I heard the story, the vibe itself was powerful. After watching the trailer and songs, it’s clear that Mohan has taken this film to another level. This is like another ‘Baahubali’. It’s a mass entertainer with history, culture and nationalism blended together.”
Captain Tamilselvan’s brother Mohan,
“My brother inaugurated the film with the pooja. Despite the hurdles, Mohan G handled everything and completed the film successfully. Wishing the team a grand success.”
The technical crew shared their experiences too.
Editor Devaraj said it was a privilege to work on such a large historical project.
Cinematographer Philip K. Sundar said he returned to Tamil cinema after ten years through this film and felt proud to be part of it.
Writer Aaru Annal said,
“Through Mohan, I am seeing my dream come alive on screen. This is not just the story of a king, but a tale of dharma, faith and devotion, centered around the great Vallala Maharaja.”
Actors unanimously said,
“Being part of such a period film itself is a dream. Real locations, minimal CG, massive sets and pure hard work – everything feels authentic.”
Heroine Rakshana Indhusoodan emotionally shared,
“The name ‘Draupathi’ itself is fire. Carrying that name in this film is a huge responsibility. I transformed myself physically and emotionally for this role. This Pongal, a historical film is coming to theatres – your support means everything.”
Richard Rishi said,
“One year of horse riding, sword training, and nearly 16 hours of work every day. More than salary, I believed in this story.”
Finally, director Mohan G addressed the gathering:
“This is a commercial period film, but it tells a history that needs to be spoken about. There is no intention to hurt any religion. It is the story of invaders who came from abroad to rule this land. Completing such a massive film in just 31 days was possible only because of my team, my actors and my producer. This Pongal, ‘Draupathi 2’ will satisfy and move all of you.”
Overall, the event made one thing clear:
