Shatak’ Teaser Reveals the Untold Story of 100 Years of the Sangh
Mumbai: The teaser of the film Shatak: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ke 100 varsh, created to mark the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has been released. The film chronicles the Sangh’s century-long journey, its ideology, and its social contributions to the nation.
As the RSS celebrates its 100th anniversary, Shatak draws inspiration from this historic milestone. The film presents the story of a long journey that has had a deep impact on the social and cultural fabric of the country. The film’s song ‘Bhagwa Hai Apni Pehchan’ was recently released by RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji at Keshav Kunj, Delhi, with renowned singer Sukhwinder Singh lending his voice to the patriotic track that captures the film’s core spirit.
The teaser presents the film as an exploration of the untold story of the RSS, addressing long-standing misunderstandings surrounding the organisation. Moving beyond debates and controversies, the film places the history, ideas and evolution of the Sangh in their untold story. It brings to the fore lesser-known chapters such as the RSS’s contribution during the freedom struggle, the challenges it faced during periods of restriction, and its role and resilience during the Emergency. Through this lens, the film seeks to offer a deeper and balanced understanding of the organisation’s journey and its enduring impact on the nation.
The film’s director, Aashish Mall, said, “This film has been a deeply personal journey for me. As I delved into research, I discovered many facets of the Sangh that are rarely spoken about or understood. Our intent has been to present these realities with honesty and sensitivity, and to address the misconceptions that exist by placing the organisation’s journey in its true context”
The film’s producer, Vir Kapur, further added, “This film is based on books, documents, and available literature. Our effort was to present the Sangh’s ideological tradition in a unified cinematic language.Of the many movements that began between 1875 and 1950, the Sangh was the only organization that continued to move forward without breaking down. This is its greatest strength. The film’s tagline, “Na Ruke, Na Thake, Na Jhuke,” reflects this sentiment.”
The film is co-produced by Aashish Tiwari and presented by ADA 360 Degrees LLP. Conceptualized by Anil D. Agarwal and directed by Aashish Mall, Shatak: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ke 100 varsh is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on February 19, 2026.
