New Delhi: In a remarkable display of resilience, Stage 4 cancer survivor who has also acted in movies and tv commercials also appeared in music video by panorama music along side Rajneesh Duggal has now personally argued her case before the Supreme Court Bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta, appearing as a party-in-person despite having no formal legal background and facing a team of lawyers on the opposite side.
“In a legal system where even renowned public figures often rely on teams of senior advocates to argue their cases, Rozlyn Khan surprised many by appearing as a Party-in-Person before the Supreme Court. Without any formal legal training, she chose to argue her own matter that too in Hindi , sending a powerful message that courage, conviction and persistence can sometimes speak louder than credentials
The matter relates to a professional misconduct dispute that has remained entangled in proceedings before the Bar Council system for nearly a decade. Refusing to step back, Khan chose to represent herself and place her arguments directly before the country’s highest court.
According to Khan, much of the interaction during the hearing took place in Hindi, making it easier for her to understand complex legal proceedings. At one stage, when she sought to continue her submissions, Justice Vikram Nath observed, “4 baje ke baad yahan sunwai nahi hoti.”
What makes her journey even more extraordinary is that she continued pursuing the case while battling Stage 4 cancer. Between chemotherapy sessions, hospital visits and recovery periods, Khan attended court hearings whenever possible.
“Main cheezon aur zindagi ko apne dhang se jeeti hoon. Cancer ho ya court, maine har ladai saamne se ladi hai,” she said.
With arguments concluded, the matter now awaits judgment, bringing a ten-year legal battle closer to its final chapter.
