‘வா வாத்தியார்’ – பொங்கலுக்கு திரையரங்கம் கலகல!

ஸ்டுடியோ கிரீன் தயாரிப்பில், ஞானவேல் ராஜா தயாரிக்க, கார்த்தி நடிப்பில், நலன் குமாரசாமி இயக்கத்தில் உருவாகியுள்ள ‘வா வாத்தியார்’ படம் ஜனவரி 14-ம் தேதி பொங்கல் விருந்தாக உலகமெங்கும் வெளியாகிறது. இதையொட்டி இன்று நடைபெற்ற பத்திரிகையாளர் சந்திப்பில் படக்குழு தங்கள் அனுபவங்களையும் நம்பிக்கைகளையும் மனம் திறந்து பகிர்ந்துகொண்டது.

கலை இயக்குநர் கிரண் பேசும்போது,
“கார்த்தியை செட்டில் பார்த்த தருணமே எம்.ஜி.ஆர் நினைவு வந்தது. அவரின் முகபாவமும் உடல் மொழியும் அப்படியே பொருந்தியது. இந்த படம் பெரிய வெற்றி அடையும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை அப்போதே வந்தது” என்றார்.

நடிகர் ஜி.எம்.சுந்தர்,
“ஒரு ஐகானை திரையில் மீண்டும் கொண்டு வருவது சாதாரண விஷயம் இல்லை. கார்த்தி அதற்காக நிறைய உழைத்திருக்கிறார். அவருடைய புன்னகை, உடல் மொழி எல்லாம் அற்புதம். முழு அர்ப்பணிப்போடு செய்திருக்கிறார்” என்று பாராட்டினார்.

நடிகை ஷில்பா மஞ்சுநாத்,
“மாலினி கேரக்டர் எனக்கு பெரிய சவால். அந்த ரிஸ்க் எடுத்ததால்தான் அந்த கேரக்டர் இவ்வளவு அழுத்தமாக வந்தது. நலன் சார் மீது முழு நம்பிக்கை இருந்தது. இந்த படம் ஒரு பெரிய திருவிழா வெளியீடு” என்று கூறினார்.

நடிகர் ஆனந்த்ராஜ்,
“போகி நாளில் பழையதை எரிச்சிட்டு புதுசா ஆரம்பிக்கிற மாதிரி, ‘வா வாத்தியார்’யும் ஒரு புதிய தொடக்கம். இன்று காலை கார்த்தி, சத்யராஜ், நானும் எம்.ஜி.ஆர் சமாதிக்கு போய் மரியாதை செலுத்தினோம். அந்த உணர்வே இந்த படத்துக்கு ஒரு ஆசி” என்றார்.

சத்யராஜ்,
“எம்.ஜி.ஆர் உடல் மொழியை இன்றைய தலைமுறைக்கு பொருத்தமாக கார்த்தி அற்புதமாக கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறார். இது ஒரு பெரிய சவால். ஆனால் அவர் அதை ஜெயித்திருக்கிறார். இந்த பொங்கலுக்கு ஒரு கொண்டாட்ட படம்” என்று தெரிவித்தார்.

கிருத்தி ஷெட்டி,
“இது முழுக்க குடும்பம் சேர்ந்து ரசிக்கக்கூடிய பெஸ்டிவல் படம். தாமதம் நடந்தாலும், சரியான நேரத்தில் நல்ல விஷயம் நடக்கும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையோட இருந்தேன். கார்த்தியிடமிருந்து நிறைய கற்றுக்கொண்டேன்” என்றார்.

தயாரிப்பாளர் ஞானவேல் ராஜா,
“நெகட்டிவ் பேச்சுகள் இருந்தாலும், இந்த படம் வேகமாக, எண்டர்டெயினிங் ஆக வரும். 2 மணி 9 நிமிடங்கள் – தீயாக பறக்கும். அனைவருக்கும் பிடிக்கும்” என்று உறுதியளித்தார்.

கடைசியாக கார்த்தி பேசும்போது,
“எம்.ஜி.ஆர் மாதிரி ஒரு மகா ஐகானை மனதில் வைத்து நடிப்பது பெரிய பயம். ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் அவரது படங்களை பார்த்து, அவர் முகபாவங்களை கவனித்து, அதை நேர்மையாக செய்ய முயன்றேன். இது குழந்தைகளும் குடும்பமும் சேர்ந்து ரசிக்கக்கூடிய ஒரு ஜாலியான படம். இந்த பொங்கலுக்கு எல்லாரும் சந்தோஷமாக திரையரங்குக்கு வரணும்” என்றார்.
சந்தோஷ் நாராயணன் இசை, ஜார்ஜ் வில்லியம்ஸ் ஒளிப்பதிவு, கிரண் கலை இயக்கம் என தொழில்நுட்ப ரீதியிலும் படம் வலுவாக இருக்கிறது.
மொத்தத்தில், எம்.ஜி.ஆர் நினைவையும், நவீன கமர்ஷியல் எண்டர்டெயின்மெண்ட்டையும் ஒன்றாக கலக்கி, ‘வா வாத்தியார்’ இந்த பொங்கலுக்கு ரசிகர்களுக்கு ஒரு பெரிய திருவிழா விருந்தாக வர தயாராக இருக்கிறது.

‘Vaa Vaathiyaar’ – Pongal Celebration at the Theatres!

Produced by Studio Green, with Gnanavel Raja as producer, Karthi in the lead, and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, Vaa Vaathiyaar is all set for a grand worldwide release on January 14 as a Pongal treat. At the press meet held today, the entire team shared their experiences and strong belief in the film.

Art Director Kiran said that the moment he saw Karthi on the sets, he was reminded of MGR. “His expressions and body language matched perfectly. I felt right then that this film would become a big success,” he said.

Actor GM Sundar spoke about the difficulty of recreating an icon on screen. “Bringing back such an image is not easy. Karthi has put in a lot of hard work. His smile, his body language – everything is remarkable. He has done it with total dedication,” he praised.

Actress Shilpa Manjunath said, “The character of Malini was a big challenge for me. I took that risk, and that is why the role has come out so powerfully. I had complete faith in Nalan sir. This film is a true festival release.”

Actor Anand Raj said, “Just like we burn the old and welcome the new on Bhogi, Vaa Vaathiyaar also marks a new beginning. This morning, Karthi, Sathyaraj and I visited MGR’s memorial and paid our respects. That moment itself felt like a blessing for this film.”

Sathyaraj said, “Recreating MGR’s body language for today’s generation is a huge challenge, and Karthi has done it brilliantly. This is a true festive entertainer for Pongal.”

Krithi Shetty shared, “This is a complete family film, perfect for a festival. Even though there was a delay, I always believed that good things happen at the right time. I learned so much from Karthi during this film.”

Producer Gnanavel Raja said confidently, “Despite all the negative talk, this film is fast-paced and highly entertaining. At just 2 hours and 9 minutes, it will fly by. I am sure everyone will enjoy it.”

Finally, Karthi said, “Keeping a legend like MGR in mind while performing was truly intimidating. Every day I watched his films, studied his expressions, and tried to be honest in my effort. This is a fun, wholesome film that children and families can enjoy together. This Pongal, I hope everyone comes to the theatres and celebrates.”
With Santhosh Narayanan’s music, George Williams’ cinematography, and Kiran’s art direction, the film is technically strong as well.
Overall, blending the legacy of MGR with modern commercial entertainment, Vaa Vaathiyaar is gearing up to be a grand festive treat for audiences this Pongal.
