மரண அச்சத்திலிருந்து மீளும் மனப்போராட்டம் – மொரிசியஸை பின்னணியாகக் கொண்ட ‘வருத்துப் போக்கு’
மலையாளத் திரையுலகில் நடன இயக்குநராக தனித்துவமான தடம் பதித்துள்ள ராபின், தற்போது இயக்குநராக புதிய பயணத்தை தொடங்குகிறார். பாக்ஸ் மூவிஸ் தயாரிப்பில் மது தயாரிக்கும் இந்த படத்திற்கு வின்சி பிரான்சிஸ் திரைக்கதை எழுதியுள்ளார். ‘வருத்துப் போக்கு’ எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ள இப்படம் நட்பு, காதல் மற்றும் வாழ்க்கை பற்றிய ஆழமான உணர்வுகளை மையமாகக் கொண்டு உருவாகிறது.
படத்தில் சிபு கதாநாயகனாகவும், அனிஷா கதாநாயகியாகவும் நடித்துள்ளனர். இவர்களுடன் பணிக்கர், நெல்சன் உள்ளிட்ட பலரும் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரங்களில் தோன்றுகின்றனர். ஒளிப்பதிவை அம்ப்ரோஸ் மேற்கொண்டுள்ளார். வசனங்களையும் எழுதியுள்ள ராபின், இந்த படத்தின் மூலம் முழுநீள இயக்குநராக அறிமுகமாகிறார்.
இப்படம் குறித்து இயக்குநர் ராபின் விளக்கமளிக்கையில், “கதாநாயகன் தனது காதலியும் நண்பர்களுடனும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக வாழ்ந்து வருகிறார். திடீரென, அவருக்கு தீராத நோய் இருப்பது தெரியவருகிறது. வாழ்நாள் குறைந்து விட்டதாக எண்ணிய அவர், தன்னைப் பற்றிய உண்மையை மறைத்து, தனது நண்பர்களையும் காதலியையும் விட்டு விலகி மொரிசியஸ் செல்கிறார். நண்பன் காணாமல் போனதால் கவலையடைந்தவர்கள் தேடிப்பிடித்து அவர் வெளிநாடு சென்றிருப்பதை அறிந்து, அவரைத் தேடி மொரிசியஸ் செல்கிறார்கள். அங்கே என்ன நடக்கிறது? அவர் மீண்டு வருகிறாரா? என்பதை நட்பு மற்றும் காதல் கலந்த உணர்வுப்பூர்வமான கதை சொல்லும்,” என்றார்.
மார்ச் மாதம் இரண்டாம் வாரத்தில் மொரிசியஸில் முதல் கட்ட படப்பிடிப்பு தொடங்குகிறது. அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து கேரளா மற்றும் பெங்களூருவில் அடுத்த கட்ட படப்பிடிப்புகள் நடைபெற உள்ளன.
‘வருத்துப் போக்கு’ வாழ்க்கையின் நுண்ணிய தருணங்களில் மனித உறவுகள் எவ்வாறு வலிமையாக மாறுகின்றன என்பதைக் கேள்வி எழுப்பும் படைப்பாக அமையும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

Robin, who has made a mark as a choreographer in the Malayalam film industry, is now stepping into a new phase of his career as a director. Produced by Madhu under the banner of Box Movies and written by Vincy Francis, Varuththu Pokku is centered on deep emotions of friendship, love, and life.
Sibu plays the lead role, while Anisha stars as the female lead. Panicker, Nelson, and several others appear in pivotal roles. Cinematography is handled by Ambrose. Robin, who has also written the dialogues, makes his debut as a full-fledged director with this film.
Speaking about the project, director Robin said, “The protagonist lives a happy life with his girlfriend and friends. One day, he discovers that he is suffering from an incurable illness. Fearing that his life may soon come to an end, he distances himself from his friends and lover without revealing the truth and leaves for Mauritius. When he suddenly goes missing, his friends begin searching for him and eventually learn that he has gone abroad. Determined to find him, his friends and his girlfriend travel to Mauritius. What happens next? Do they reunite with him? Does he survive? These questions form the crux of this emotional story woven with friendship and love.”
The first schedule of shooting is set to begin in Mauritius in the second week of March, followed by subsequent schedules in Kerala and Bengaluru.
