ஐஐடிஎம் ரிசர்ச் பார்க்கில் நடைபெற்ற இந்த நிகழ்வு சாதாரண அமைப்பு தொடக்க விழாவாக இல்லாமல், தமிழ் திரையுலகின் எதிர்காலத்தைப் பற்றிய தீவிர ஆலோசனை கூட்டமாகவே அமைந்தது. குறிப்பாக, தற்போது வேகமாக வளர்ந்து வரும் “வெர்டிகல் சினிமா”, “மைக்ரோ டிராமா”, குறுந்தொகுப்பு உள்ளடக்கங்கள் போன்ற புதிய வடிவங்கள் குறித்து தயாரிப்பாளர்களிடையே அதிக ஆர்வம் காணப்பட்டது.

ICMEG தமிழ்நாடு கிளையை வழிநடத்த உள்ள வெங்கடேஷ் ராஜேந்திரன், “தமிழ்நாடு எப்போதுமே கதையாடலில் முன்னோடி. இனி டிஜிட்டல் உலகத்திலும் தமிழ் உள்ளடக்கங்கள் பெரிய அளவில் செல்ல வேண்டும். அதற்கான தொழில்நுட்ப மற்றும் வணிக தளத்தை உருவாக்குவதுதான் எங்கள் நோக்கம்,” என்று தெரிவித்தார்.
நிகழ்வின் இறுதியில், தமிழ் சினிமாவை உலக சந்தைக்கு கொண்டு செல்லும் புதிய கூட்டுத் திட்டங்கள் குறித்த கலந்துரையாடல்களும் நடைபெற்றன. AI, OTT, Gaming மற்றும் சினிமா இணையும் புதிய காலத்திற்கான ஆரம்பமாக இந்த நிகழ்வு பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

A major industry gathering focused on the future of Tamil cinema and digital entertainment took place in Chennai as the Indian Council for Media, Entertainment & Gaming (ICMEG) officially launched its Tamil Nadu chapter. The event brought together film producers, OTT platform executives, technology experts, and AI professionals under one roof to discuss the next phase of the entertainment industry.
Held at IITM Research Park, the event was more than just an organisational launch — it turned into a serious conversation about the future direction of Tamil content creation. Emerging formats such as vertical cinema, micro dramas, and short-form storytelling became key highlights of the discussions, reflecting the rapid transformation happening in digital entertainment.
Industry leaders explored how Tamil content can expand into global digital markets, how Artificial Intelligence can help reduce production costs, and how creators can better protect their intellectual property rights in an increasingly digital ecosystem.
Executives from leading media and entertainment companies including SUN NXT, Zee Bullet, Eenadu Television, ETV Win, PhantomFX, and Vels Film International participated in the discussions and shared their industry insights and experiences.
Speakers also stressed that Tamil producers can no longer depend only on traditional theatrical releases, and must actively explore mobile-first storytelling formats, short-form content, and new OTT-driven revenue opportunities.
The event also witnessed the signing of an MoU between the Tamil Nadu AI Association and ICMEG. Through this collaboration, creators are expected to receive future support in AI training, IP protection guidance, and international-standard content development practices.
Speaking at the event, Venkatesh Rajendran, who will lead the ICMEG Tamil Nadu chapter, said, “Tamil Nadu has always been a pioneer in storytelling. The next step is ensuring Tamil content reaches global digital audiences, and our goal is to create the right technological and business ecosystem to make that happen.”
The event concluded with discussions around upcoming collaborative projects aimed at taking Tamil cinema to wider international markets. Industry experts believe this initiative marks the beginning of a new era where AI, OTT platforms, gaming, and cinema will increasingly work together to redefine entertainment.
