மேக்கரை என்ற மலைப் பின்னணியில் நகரும் இந்த க்ரைம் த்ரில்லர், சாதாரண விசாரணைக் கதையாக மட்டும் இல்லாமல், சமூகத்தில் பரவிக் கிடக்கும் ஒரு நாட்டார் கதையை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு கட்டமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதனால் கதை சொல்லும் விதத்திலும் ஒரு புதுமை இருக்குமென எதிர்பார்க்கலாம்.

கதாநாயகனாக சித்து நடித்துள்ள இந்தப் படத்தில், பிக்பாஸ் மூலம் பிரபலமான தர்ஷிகா கதாநாயகியாக வருகிறார். இவர்களுடன் நிழல்கள் ரவி, வேல ராமமூர்த்தி, ரித்விகா, அருள் ஜோதி, ஜெயகுமார் ஜானகிராமன் உள்ளிட்ட பலர் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடித்துள்ளனர். இதுவரை நகைச்சுவை வேடங்களில் மட்டுமே பார்த்த சாப்ளின் பாலு, இம்முறை மாறுபட்ட தோற்றத்தில் வருகிறார் என்பது கூடுதல் ஆர்வம் தருகிறது.

வண்டிபெரியார், அச்சன்கோவில், தென்மலை, ஏற்காடு, பத்துகாணி, தென்காசி, முக்கூடல் போன்ற இயற்கை சவால்கள் நிறைந்த இடங்களில் படப்பிடிப்பு நடைபெற்றுள்ளது. தற்போது டப்பிங் பணிகள் தொடங்கி, இறுதிக்கட்ட பணிகள் வேகமாக நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன.

A hill village… Every seven years, when the month of July arrives, a series of murders take place. There are no clues. No clear motives. What is the mystery behind these killings? And how does a police officer handle a case with absolutely no evidence? — This forms the central plot of the film.

Set against the backdrop of a mountain village named Mekkarei, this crime thriller is not just a routine investigation story. It is built around a folk tale that has long existed within the community, giving the narrative a distinctive and compelling tone.

Produced and directed by Balaji, the film reunites him with several technicians from his debut project. Cinematography is handled by Manikandan PK, editing by Raja Arumugam, and music by Sakthi Balaji, who previously worked on the film “Jackie.”

Sithu plays the lead role, while Bigg Boss fame Darshika appears as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Nizhalgal Ravi, Vela Ramamoorthy, Riythvika, Arul Jothi, and Jayakumar Janakiraman. Actor Chaplin Balu, who is usually seen in comic roles, will be seen in a completely different character in this film.
The movie was shot in challenging and scenic locations such as Vandiperiyar, Achankovil, Thenmalai, Yercaud, Pathukani, Tenkasi, and Mukkudal. Dubbing work has begun, and the film is currently in its final stages of post-production.
