மலையாளத்தில் வெற்றிகரமாக ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் “அதிரடி” படம், தற்போது தமிழ் ரசிகர்களை குறிவைத்து களமிறங்கியுள்ளது. ஆனால் இந்தப் படத்தின் சென்னை நிகழ்வில் அனைவரின் கவனத்தையும் ஈர்த்தது சினிமா அல்ல — கிரிக்கெட் வீரர் சஞ்சு சாம்சனின் பேச்சுதான்.
சென்னையில் நடைபெற்ற “அதிரடி” படத்தின் ப்ரீ-ரிலீஸ் விழா, வழக்கமான சினிமா நிகழ்வைப் போல இல்லாமல் நண்பர்கள் கூடும் ஒரு கொண்டாட்டமாக மாறியது. நடிகர் பசில் ஜோசப்பின் அழைப்பை ஏற்று கலந்து கொண்ட சஞ்சு சாம்சன், ரசிகர்களுடன் மிகவும் இயல்பாக கலந்துரையாடினார்.
“நண்பன் கூப்பிட்டா வராம இருக்க முடியுமா?” என்று தொடங்கிய அவர், சென்னை ரசிகர்களின் அன்பைப் பற்றி உருக்கமாகப் பேசினார். “சி.எஸ்.கே. அணிக்காக விளையாட ஆரம்பித்த பிறகு, சென்னை எனக்கு இரண்டாவது வீடாக மாறிவிட்டது,” என்ற சஞ்சுவின் வார்த்தைகள் ரசிகர்களிடம் கைதட்டலை பெற்றது.
அதே நேரத்தில், “அதிரடி” படத்தில் சிறிய கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடிக்க அழைத்ததாகவும், “நடிக்கணும்னா கொஞ்சம் பெரிய ரோல் வேணும்” என்று சிரிப்புடன் மறுத்துவிட்டதாகவும் கூறி அரங்கையே சிரிக்க வைத்தார்.
பசில் ஜோசப்பைப் பற்றி பேசிய சஞ்சு, “வெளியில் எப்போதும் சிரித்த முகம் தான். ஆனா வேலை வந்துட்டா ரொம்ப சீரியஸ். ஒரு வார அட்டவணையோட வாழ்றவர்,” என்று அவரின் தொழில்முறை அணுகுமுறையை பாராட்டினார்.

இயக்குநர் அருண் அனிருதன், “இந்தக் கதைக்கு ‘அதிரடி’ என்ற தலைப்பை முதலில் சொன்னதே பசில் தான். அந்த வார்த்தைக்கு இருக்கும் தாக்கம் போலவே, படத்திலும் ஒரு எரிசக்தி இருக்கும்,” என்று தெரிவித்தார்.
கல்லூரி பின்னணியில் உருவாகியுள்ள இந்த படம், நகைச்சுவை, நட்பு, இளமை உணர்வுகள் கலந்து குடும்ப ரசிகர்களுக்கும் பிடிக்கும் வகையில் அமைந்துள்ளதாக படக்குழு நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

The Malayalam hit “Adhiradi”, which is currently enjoying a successful run in Kerala, is now gearing up to entertain Tamil audiences. But at the film’s Chennai pre-release event, it wasn’t just the movie that grabbed attention — cricketer became the highlight of the evening.

“Can you really say no when a friend calls you?” Sanju said with a smile, instantly winning over the crowd. Speaking about Chennai and the fans, he added, “After joining CSK, Chennai has started feeling like my second home.”
The cricketer also revealed that he had once been approached for a role in “Adhiradi,” but jokingly turned it down because it was a small part. “If I act in films, I need a slightly bigger role,” he laughed, leaving the audience entertained.
Praising Basil Joseph, Sanju described him as someone who is cheerful in person but extremely serious when it comes to work. “He plans everything perfectly, even dinners with friends,” he joked, while appreciating Basil’s dedication and discipline.

That’s why we paid extra attention while adapting the dialogues for Tamil viewers,” he explained. Director revealed that the title “Adhiradi” itself was suggested by Basil Joseph during the early stages of production. “The word carries a certain energy and impact, and the film reflects the same spirit,” he said.
Set against a college backdrop, “Adhiradi” promises a mix of comedy, friendship, youthful emotions and entertainment aimed at family audiences as well.
