திருமணம் முடிந்ததும் மணமகள் புகுந்த வீட்டுக்குச் செல்வதுதான் வழக்கம். ஆனால், அந்த வழக்கத்தையே தலைகீழாக மாற்றினால்? மணமகள் தனது வீட்டை விட்டு வெளியேற மறுக்க, மாப்பிள்ளை தனது பெட்டிகளை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு மனைவியின் வீட்டுக்கே குடியேறுகிறார். அங்கிருந்து தொடங்கும் குடும்பக் கலாட்டாதான் ‘பியார் பிரேமா கல்யாணம்’.
இளன் இயக்கி, கதாநாயகனாகவும் அறிமுகமாகும் இப்படத்தின் டிரெய்லரை Netflix இன்று வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. படம் வரும் ஆகஸ்ட் 21-ம் தேதி Netflix-ல் வெளியாகிறது.
படத்தின் கதையில் பவி என்ற கதாபாத்திரத்தில் சான்வி மேக்னா நடித்துள்ளார். தன்னம்பிக்கையுடன் தனக்கென ஒரு வாழ்க்கையை அமைத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் பவி, தான் வளர்ந்த வீட்டை விட்டுச் செல்ல விரும்பவில்லை. இதனால் திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகு கணவரான இளன், மனைவியின் வீட்டிலேயே வசிக்கத் தொடங்குகிறார்.
அவ்வளவுதான்… அடுத்தடுத்து நடப்பதெல்லாம் குடும்பத்துக்குள் நடக்கும் சின்னச் சின்ன உரசல்கள், புதிய உறவுகளால் உருவாகும் சங்கடங்கள், எதிர்பாராத சம்பவங்கள் என கலகலப்பாக மாறுகிறது.
“திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகு மணமகள்தான் ஏன் வீட்டை விட்டுச் செல்ல வேண்டும்?” என்ற கேள்வியை மையமாக வைத்து, வழக்கமான குடும்பக் கதைகளில் இருந்து சற்று விலகிய கோணத்தை இப்படம் முன்வைக்கிறது. காதல், திருமணம், குடும்ப உறவுகள் என நமக்குப் பரிச்சயமான விஷயங்களையே புதிய பார்வையில் சொல்ல முயன்றிருக்கிறது.
படத்தில் இளன், சான்வி மேக்னாவுடன் ராதிகா சரத்குமார், யோகி பாபு, எம்.எஸ். பாஸ்கர், கீதா கைலாசம், இளங்கோ குமரவேல், செந்தில், மாறன் உள்ளிட்ட பலர் நடித்துள்ளனர். குடும்பக் காட்சிகளுக்கும், படத்தின் உணர்வுப்பூர்வமான தருணங்களுக்கும் யுவன் சங்கர் ராஜாவின் இசை கூடுதல் பலம் சேர்க்கிறது.

படத்தின் இயக்குநரும் கதாநாயகனுமான இளன், “பியார் பிரேமா கல்யாணம்” மூலம் அனைவருக்கும் தெரிந்த திருமண வாழ்க்கையை வித்தியாசமான கோணத்தில் சொல்ல முயன்றுள்ளதாக தெரிவித்துள்ளார். திருமணம் குறித்த நீண்டகால எதிர்பார்ப்புகளை கேள்வி கேட்கும் அதே நேரத்தில், குடும்பத்தில் இருக்கும் அன்பு, சிரிப்பு, ஒற்றுமை ஆகியவற்றையும் படம் கொண்டாடும் என அவர் கூறியுள்ளார்.
தனது நடிப்பு அறிமுகத்துக்கு தனக்கு நெருக்கமான கதையைத் தேர்வு செய்திருப்பது சிறப்பான அனுபவம் என்றும், உலகம் முழுவதும் உள்ள ரசிகர்கள் Netflix மூலம் படத்தை ரசிப்பார்கள் என எதிர்பார்ப்பதாகவும் இளன் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

பவி கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்துள்ள சான்வி மேக்னா, தன்னம்பிக்கையும் சுதந்திரமான சிந்தனையும் கொண்ட கதாபாத்திரம் பவி என தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
தனக்கு என்ன வேண்டும் என்பதில் தெளிவாக இருக்கும் பவி, தான் நேசிக்கும் மனிதர்களை விட்டுக்கொடுக்காதவள் என்றும், காதலும் வாழ்க்கைத்துணை உறவும் எப்படி இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதை வேறொரு கோணத்தில் காட்டும் கதாபாத்திரமாக பவி இருக்கும் என்றும் அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

ஒவ்வொரு தலைமுறையும் திருமணத்தை வெவ்வேறு விதமாகப் பார்ப்பதால் உருவாகும் கருத்து வேறுபாடுகளே படத்தில் சிரிப்பையும் உணர்வையும் ஏற்படுத்தும் என அவர் கூறியுள்ளார்.
யோகி பாபுவைப் பொறுத்தவரை, டிரெய்லரில் இடம்பெற்றிருப்பது படத்தில் இருக்கும் குடும்பக் கலாட்டாவின் ஒரு சிறிய பகுதி மட்டுமே. அன்றாட குடும்ப வாழ்க்கையில் நடக்கும் சாதாரண விஷயங்களிலிருந்தே படத்தின் பெரும்பாலான நகைச்சுவை உருவாகியிருப்பதால், அது ரசிகர்களுடன் எளிதாக கனெக்ட் ஆகும் என அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

What if, instead of the bride leaving her home after marriage, the groom packed his bags and moved into hers? That unusual twist forms the heart of ‘Pyaar Prema Kalyanam’, the upcoming Tamil family entertainer directed by Elan, who also makes his acting debut as the lead.
Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the film, which is set to premiere on August 21.
The trailer introduces Pavi, played by Saanvee Meghana, a confident and independent influencer who is unwilling to leave the home she has grown up in. As a result, her husband, played by Elan, moves into her house after their wedding.
What follows is a series of awkward introductions, family clashes, unexpected situations and plenty of humour as the newlywed tries to find his place in a completely new household.
At the centre of the story is a simple question: Why should the bride always be the one to leave her home after marriage?
Rather than following the familiar template of a newlywed woman adjusting to her husband’s family, ‘Pyaar Prema Kalyanam’ turns the situation around and explores what happens when the groom becomes the new member of the bride’s household.
The film blends romance, comedy and family emotions while looking at marriage and relationships from a more contemporary perspective. At its core, the story appears to be about choosing a way of life that works for the couple, rather than simply following traditions.
Elan and Saanvee Meghana are joined by an ensemble cast featuring Radhika Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, M.S. Bhaskar, Geetha Kailasam, Elango Kumaravel, Senthil and Maran, among others. Music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, adding to its emotional and family-oriented appeal.
Elan on telling a familiar story differently
Director and debutant actor Elan says the film attempts to present a familiar subject in a refreshing way.
“With ‘Pyaar Prema Kalyanam’, we wanted to tell a story that feels familiar yet refreshingly different. The film challenges some of the long-held expectations around marriage while celebrating the love, laughter and togetherness that make every family unique,” he said.
Elan also described making his acting debut with a story that is close to his heart as a special experience and expressed his excitement about audiences across the world discovering the film on Netflix.

Saanvee Meghana describes Pavi as a confident, independent woman who knows what she wants while remaining deeply connected to the people she loves.
“That was one of the main reasons I was drawn to the character. Pavi has her own identity and is clear about the life she wants. I hope audiences enjoy seeing her offer a fresh perspective on love and partnership,” she said.
Radhika Sarathkumar on changing family dynamics
Radhika Sarathkumar says she was particularly drawn to the film’s light-hearted approach to changing family relationships.
“Every generation looks at marriage differently. Those differences can create funny, emotional and relatable situations, and I liked how the film explores these changing dynamics without becoming heavy,” she said.
Yogi Babu promises plenty of family humour
According to Yogi Babu, the trailer offers only a glimpse of the fun in store.
“The trailer is just a small taste of the fun we had while making the film. The comedy comes from everyday family situations, which is what makes it relatable. I am looking forward to audiences laughing along with us and enjoying the film with their families,” he said.
