‘என்ன விலை’ படத்தில் மணிமேகலையாக மாறிய ஷாஷா சிவகுமார்!

“கிராமப்புறப் பெண்ணாக நடித்தது எனக்கு முற்றிலும் புதுமையான அனுபவம்” – நடிகை ஷாஷா சிவகுமார்

வித்தியாசமான கதாபாத்திரங்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து தனது நடிப்புத் திறனை தொடர்ந்து வெளிப்படுத்தி வரும் நடிகை ஷாஷா சிவகுமார், தற்போது சஜீவ் பழூர் எழுதி இயக்கியுள்ள ‘என்ன விலை’ திரைப்படத்தில் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்துள்ளார்.

வரும் செப்டம்பர் 17ஆம் தேதி உலகம் முழுவதும் திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியாகும் இப்படத்தில், ஷாஷா சிவகுமார் முதன்முறையாக கிராமப்புறப் பெண்ணாக ‘மணிமேகலை’ என்ற கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்துள்ளார். தனக்கு முற்றிலும் புதிதான இந்த கதாபாத்திரத்தை சிறப்பாக வெளிப்படுத்துவதற்காக, படப்பிடிப்பு தொடங்குவதற்கு முன்பே அதற்கான தயாரிப்புகளை மேற்கொண்டதாக அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

மணிமேகலை கதாபாத்திரம் குறித்து ஷாஷா சிவகுமார் கூறுகையில், “மணிமேகலை எனக்கு மிகவும் நெருக்கமான மற்றும் சிறப்பான கதாபாத்திரம். இதுவரை நான் ஏற்றிராத வகையில், முதன்முறையாக ஒரு கிராமப்புறப் பெண்ணாக இதில் நடித்துள்ளேன். படப்பிடிப்புத் தளத்திற்குச் செல்வதற்கு முன்பே கதாபாத்திரத்தைப் புரிந்துகொண்டு அதற்கேற்ப என்னைத் தயார்படுத்திக் கொண்டேன். அது கதாபாத்திரத்தை இயல்பாக அணுகுவதற்கு பெரிதும் உதவியது. முற்றிலும் புதிய சூழலில் பணியாற்றிய இந்த அனுபவம் எனக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியையும் நிறைய கற்றலையும் அளித்துள்ளது” என்றார்.

மூத்த நடிகர்களுடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்றிய அனுபவம்

‘என்ன விலை’ திரைப்படத்தில் கருணாஸ் மற்றும் நிமிஷா சஜயன் ஆகியோருடன் இணைந்து நடித்த அனுபவத்தையும் ஷாஷா சிவகுமார் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டுள்ளார்.

“கருணாஸ் சார் சிறந்த நடிகர். நிமிஷா மிகவும் திறமையானவர் மட்டுமின்றி, தனது பணியில் மிகுந்த அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயல்படுபவர். அவர்களைப் போன்ற திறமையான நடிகர்களுடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்றும்போது, நம்முடைய பங்களிப்பிலும் கூடுதல் பொறுப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுகிறது. அவர்களுடன் இணைந்து நடித்தது சிறந்த அனுபவமாக இருந்தது” என்று அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

மலையாளத் திரையுலகக் கலைஞர்களுடன் முதல் பயணம்

இப்படத்தின் மூலம் மலையாளத் திரையுலகைச் சேர்ந்த பல கலைஞர்களுடன் முதன்முறையாக இணைந்து பணியாற்றியதாகவும் ஷாஷா கூறியுள்ளார்.

“இயக்குநர் சஜீவ் சார் படப்பிடிப்புத் தளத்தில் அனைவரிடமும் மிகவும் பொறுமையாகவும் மரியாதையுடனும் நடந்து கொண்டார். மலையாளத் திரையுலகைச் சேர்ந்த கலைஞர்களுடன் நான் முதன்முறையாக பணியாற்றியிருக்கிறேன். எனவே, ‘என்ன விலை’ எனக்கு ஒரு வித்தியாசமான பணிச்சூழலையும், அதே நேரத்தில் நிறைய கற்றுக்கொள்ளும் வாய்ப்பையும் வழங்கியது” என்றார்.

சமூகப் பின்னணியில் உருவாகும் ‘என்ன விலை’

சமூக அக்கறை கொண்ட கதைக்களத்தில் உருவாகியுள்ள ‘என்ன விலை’ திரைப்படம், ராமேஸ்வரம் அருகே கடலில் பக்தர்கள் காணிக்கையாகச் செலுத்தும் நாணயங்களை மீட்டு தனது வாழ்வாதாரத்தை நடத்தும் ஒருவரின் வாழ்க்கையை மையமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.

வாழ்வாதாரத்திற்காக அவர் எதிர்கொள்ளும் சவால்கள், கண்ணியத்துடன் வாழ்வதற்கான அவரது போராட்டம் ஆகியவை பின்னர் முக்கியமான சட்டப் போராட்டமாக மாறும் விதத்தில் கதை நகர்கிறது.

Shasha Sivakumar Opens Up About Her Challenging Role as Manimegalai in ‘Enna Vile’

“Playing a rural woman for the first time was a completely new experience,” says the actress

Actress Shasha Sivakumar, who has been impressing audiences with her performances in diverse roles, is all set to appear in a pivotal role in ‘Enna Vile’, written and directed by Sajeev Pazhoor.

The film, which is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on September 17, features Shasha Sivakumar as Manimegalai, a rural woman — a character that marks a completely new territory for the actress.

Speaking about her role, Shasha revealed that she began preparing for the character even before stepping onto the sets. According to the actress, understanding the character beforehand helped her approach the role with greater confidence and authenticity.

A Special and Challenging Character

Talking about Manimegalai, Shasha Sivakumar said, “Manimegalai is a very special character for me because this is the first time I have played a rural woman. I started preparing for the character even before going to the shooting location. That helped me understand the character better and approach it in the right way. It was a completely different experience for me, and I am very happy that ‘Enna Vile’ gave me an opportunity like this.”

Working Alongside Karunas and Nimisha Sajayan

Shasha also spoke about her experience of sharing screen space with acclaimed actors Karunas and Nimisha Sajayan.

Describing Karunas as a wonderful actor and Nimisha as an extremely talented and hardworking performer, Shasha said working alongside them naturally brought an added sense of responsibility.

“Karunas sir is a wonderful actor. Nimisha is extremely talented and dedicated to her work. When you work with actors like them, you naturally feel a greater sense of responsibility towards your own performance. It was a great experience working with both of them,” she said.

A New Working Experience

The actress also highlighted the opportunity to work with members of the Malayalam film industry for the first time.

“Director Sajeev sir was always very patient and respectful towards everyone on the sets. I also got the opportunity to work with members of the Malayalam film industry for the first time. So, ‘Enna Vile’ was a completely different experience for me and also a great learning journey,” Shasha added.

A Socially Relevant Story

Set against a socially significant backdrop, ‘Enna Vile’ revolves around the life of a person who makes a living by recovering coins offered by devotees into the sea near Rameswaram.

The film explores his struggle to earn a livelihood while preserving his dignity, eventually leading to a significant legal battle. The story is expected to address issues surrounding livelihood, dignity and social justice.

The film features an ensemble cast including Karunas, Nimisha Sajayan, Shasha Sivakumar, Vijayalakshmi Veeramani, Sidha Darshan, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Y.G. Mahendran, Motta Rajendran, Nizhalgal Ravi, Praveena, Mohan Ram, Chethan Kumar, Kavithalaya Krishnan, Kamalesh, Goli Soda Pandi, J.S. Kavi, Swaminathan, Deepa Shankar and Kavi Nakkalites, among others.

Written and directed by Sajeev Pazhoor, the film is produced by Jithesh V under the banner of Kalamaya Films. Sam C.S. has composed the music, while Alby Antony is the cinematographer and Sreejit Sarang handles the editing.

With a socially relevant storyline and a strong ensemble of performers, ‘Enna Vile’ is gearing up for its worldwide theatrical release on September 17.
