மலையாளத் திரைப்பட இசையின் பொற்காலத்தை தனது இசையால் உருவாக்கிய இசை மேதை அவர்களின் நினைவாக நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ள முதல் “ஜி. தேவராஜன் மாஸ்டர் விருது 2026” இந்த ஆண்டில் இந்திய கர்நாடக இசை உலகின் முன்னணி கலைஞரான அவர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த விருதை தேவராஜன் மாஸ்டரின் துணைவியார் லீலாமணி தேவராஜன் வழங்குகிறார்.

1927ஆம் ஆண்டு பிறந்து 2006ஆம் ஆண்டு வரை இசை உலகில் தனித்த அடையாளத்தை உருவாக்கிய தேவராஜன் மாஸ்டர், மலையாளத் திரைப்பட இசையின் திசையை மாற்றிய இசையமைப்பாளர்களில் முக்கியமானவர். குறிப்பாக கவிஞர் உடன் இணைந்து உருவாக்கிய பாடல்கள் இன்று வரை இசை ரசிகர்களின் மனதில் நிலைத்திருக்கின்றன. அவரின் இசைப் பயணத்தை கௌரவிக்கும் வகையில் கேரள அரசின் உயரிய திரைப்பட விருதான J. C. Daniel Award உள்ளிட்ட பல பெருமைகள் அவரை சென்றடைந்துள்ளன.

இந்த விழாவில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக தென்னிந்திய இசையமைப்பாளர் கலந்து கொண்டு நிகழ்ச்சியை சிறப்பிக்கிறார்.

இந்த நிகழ்வின் மிகப்பெரிய சிறப்பம்சமாக, தேவராஜன் மாஸ்டர் தனது இறுதிக்காலத்தில் உருவாக்கிய அரிய இசை வடிவங்களான Choir மற்றும் “ஷட்கால பல்லவி” மேடையேறுகின்றன. அவரிடம் நேரடியாக இசை பயின்று அவரது பாடல்களைப் பாடிய 16 கலைஞர்கள் இணைந்து புகழ்பெற்ற “சக்திகாதா Choir” பாடல்களை வழங்கவுள்ளனர்.

மேலும், தேவராஜன் மாஸ்டரின் கர்நாடக இசை ஆழத்தையும் இசை மேதைத்தனத்தையும் வெளிப்படுத்தும் அபூர்வ படைப்பான “ஷட்கால பல்லவி”யை, அவரிடமே நேரடியாக கற்றுக் கொண்ட மேடையில் வழங்குகிறார்.

தேவராஜன் மாஸ்டரின் குடும்பத்தினரும், அவரது இசையை நேசிக்கும் ரசிகர்களும் இணைந்து நடத்தும் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி, இசை ரசிகர்களுக்கு மறக்க முடியாத அனுபவமாக இருக்கும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

A Grand Musical Tribute to Legendary Composer Devarajan Master

First “G. Devarajan Master Award 2026” to Honour Padma Bhushan Dr. T. V. Gopalakrishnan

The first edition of the “G. Devarajan Master Award 2026,” instituted in memory of legendary Malayalam music composer , will be presented this year to renowned Carnatic musician . The award will be presented by Devarajan Master’s wife, Smt. Leelamani Devarajan.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of Malayalam cinema music, Devarajan Master (1927–2006) created an everlasting legacy through his timeless compositions. His iconic collaborations with poet are celebrated as a defining chapter in the golden era of Malayalam film music. In recognition of his extraordinary contribution to music, he was honoured with several prestigious accolades, including Kerala’s highest film honour, the J. C. Daniel Award.

Celebrated South Indian music composer will grace the occasion as the chief guest.

One of the major highlights of the evening will be the presentation of two rare musical creations composed by Devarajan Master during his later years — the Choir compositions and the remarkable “Shadkala Pallavi.” Sixteen singers who directly trained under the maestro and performed his compositions will come together to present selected pieces from the iconic “Shakthigatha Choir” songs.

Adding to the significance of the evening, the rare and musically rich “Shadkala Pallavi,” which reflects Devarajan Master’s profound command over Carnatic music, will be performed on stage by , who personally learnt the composition directly from the Master himself.

Organised jointly by Devarajan Master’s family members and admirers of his music, the event promises to be a memorable celebration for music lovers and admirers of timeless melodies.
