‘Raja’s Playlist’ Wraps Up Shooting; Post-Production Begins in Full Swing for Jayan’s Debut Film

Elephantine X’s much-awaited musical family entertainer Raja’s Playlist has successfully completed its principal photography and has now entered an intensive post-production phase. The film marks the acting debut of Jayan, the younger son of late veteran producer R.T. Bhaskar and nephew of legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, making it one of the most anticipated upcoming Tamil films.

The project has attracted considerable attention ever since its announcement, thanks to the coming together of several prominent names from the Tamil film industry. The film is produced by Ramanan Balagangadharan, who shares a long-standing friendship with the family of the late R.T. Bhaskar and has backed the project as a tribute to that enduring relationship.

Adding further weight to the film is an impressive creative team. Acclaimed filmmaker Venkat Prabhu has penned the story, while Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music. National Award-winning filmmaker Sudha Kongara serves as the Creative Producer, lending her expertise to the project.

The film also marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Sujith N. Subramaniam, who earned critical acclaim for his work in Kudumbasthan. Adapting Venkat Prabhu’s story into a screenplay, Sujith makes his transition to filmmaking with a heartwarming story that celebrates family relationships, emotions, and the unifying power of music.

Speaking about the completion of the shoot, producer Ramanan Balagangadharan said:

“Completing the shoot of Raja’s Playlist is an emotional and immensely satisfying milestone for all of us. Every member of our team has worked with complete dedication to bring this beautiful story to life. Jayan has given his absolute best for his debut film, and I am confident audiences will welcome him with open arms. We have now begun post-production and are excited to present a wholesome entertainer that celebrates family bonds, heartfelt emotions, and the magic of music.”

The film features an ensemble cast including Jayan, Sona Olickal, Vaagai Chandrasekar, Guru Somasundaram, Roju, Bibiyan, Arya Lakshmi, Pragatheeswaran Bhoopalam, Indumathi, Reshmi, Rajinath, Ramkumar, Meena, and Thilagavathi in pivotal roles.

With filming now complete, the team has shifted its focus to post-production, including editing, background score, sound design, visual effects, and other technical enhancements. More updates, including the film’s promotional campaign and release plans, are expected to be announced soon.
