“Women’s Emotions Remain Unchanged Across Generations” – Femina George on Her Role in Haiku

“I Want Audiences to Leave the Theatre with Smiles on Their Faces and a Hint of Tears in Their Eyes!” – Actress Femina George

Love, expectations, longing, and the deeper emotions that shape a woman’s inner world form the emotional core of Haiku. Actress Femina George, who plays a significant role in the film, has shared her thoughts on her character, the film’s portrayal of women’s emotions, and her experience of making her debut in Tamil cinema.

Starring Aegan, Sridevi, and Femina George in the lead roles, Haiku was released in theatres worldwide today. Written and directed by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy, the film features Femina George in a character that explores the emotional depth and complexities of women.

Speaking about her role, Femina George said, “Making my debut in Tamil cinema has always been a dream of mine. I am delighted that this dream has come true through a film like Haiku, which has a distinctive storyline. Getting the opportunity to play a character with so much emotional depth makes this experience even more special.

“Times change, lifestyles evolve, and people often believe that women’s desires and expectations change with every generation. However, certain fundamental emotions remain the same. The desire for genuine love, the need for understanding in a relationship, and the expectation of having a partner who respects and values you are feelings that transcend generations. My character in Haiku reflects these enduring emotions.

“We have often seen stories centred on women’s emotions being told from the perspective of female directors. However, I am happy with the way director Yuvaraj Chinnasamy has approached my character. He has understood the emotional nuances and portrayed them with sensitivity and authenticity.

“I am grateful to the producers, the director, and the entire team for trusting me and giving me this opportunity. I want audiences to leave the theatre with smiles on their faces and a hint of tears in their eyes. The emotions they experience while watching the film should stay with them even after they leave the theatre. For me, that is the beauty of cinema. A good film should touch something within us and send us home with a sense of happiness and fulfilment,” she added.
