A grand cinematic tribute is being created to celebrate the 50-year journey of legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, who has remained one of the defining musical voices of Indian cinema. The special project is being jointly produced by Connekkt Media, Mercuri Movies, and WPP Production.
Ilaiyaraaja, who made his debut as a music composer with the 1976 film Annakili, went on to transform the soundscape of Indian cinema over the last five decades. With thousands of songs and hundreds of films across multiple languages, his music continues to hold a timeless emotional connection with audiences across generations.
To commemorate this milestone, the makers are developing a visually rich and emotionally engaging cinematic tribute using next-generation AI technology and advanced filmmaking techniques. The project aims to capture the depth of Ilaiyaraaja’s musical legacy and present it on a global scale with modern storytelling and visual innovation.
