சென்னை: குழந்தைகளின் கல்வி, இதய அறுவை சிகிச்சை, மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்கு உதவி, ஏழை எளிய மக்களுக்கு உணவு வழங்குதல் எனத் தொடர்ந்து பல்வேறு சமூக நலப்பணிகளில் ஈடுபட்டு வரும் நடிகரும் நடன இயக்குநருமான ராகவா லாரன்ஸ், தனது அறக்கட்டளையின் 20 ஆண்டுகால சேவையைத் தொடர்ந்து புதிய திட்டம் ஒன்றை அறிவித்துள்ளார்.

லாரன்ஸ் அறக்கட்டளை (Larencce Charitable Trust) சார்பில், கிராமப்புறங்களில் வாழும் பெண்களுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியையும் மனநிறைவையும் அளிக்கும் வகையில் ‘பட்டுப்புடவை வழங்கும் திட்டம்’ என்ற புதிய முயற்சியை அவர் முன்னெடுத்துள்ளார். இத்திட்டத்தின் முதற்கட்டமாக 5,000 பட்டுப்புடவைகளை வழங்கத் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளார்.

இந்த முயற்சி உருவானதற்குப் பின்னால் ஒரு நெகிழ்ச்சியான சம்பவம் இருக்கிறது. தேவையுள்ள மக்களுக்கு உதவுவதற்காகச் சென்றிருந்தபோது, ஒரு பெண் ராகவா லாரன்ஸைச் சந்தித்து, தனக்கு அழகான பட்டுப்புடவை வேண்டும் என்று கடிதம் மூலம் தனது விருப்பத்தைத் தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார். அந்தக் கடிதத்தைப் படித்தபோது, தங்கள் வாழ்நாளில் ஒரு பட்டுப்புடவையைக்கூட வாங்கி அணிய முடியாத நிலையில் இன்னும் எத்தனையோ பெண்கள் இருக்கக்கூடும் என்ற எண்ணம் அவருக்குத் தோன்றியுள்ளது.

தனது பிறந்தநாளான அக்டோபர் 29ஆம் தேதி, தான் வளர்ந்த பகுதியான ராயபுரத்தில் இத்திட்டத்தை ராகவா லாரன்ஸ் தொடங்கி வைக்கிறார்.

கடந்த 20 ஆண்டுகளாகத் தொடர்ந்து வந்த சமூக சேவையை அடுத்த கட்டத்துக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்லும் இந்தப் புதிய முயற்சிக்கு அனைவரின் ஆசிகளையும் ஆதரவையும் அவர் கேட்டுக்கொண்டுள்ளார்.

‘Pattu Saree Scheme’ to Be Launched on His Birthday in Royapuram, Marking 20 Years of Charitable Service

Chennai: Actor and choreographer Raghava Lawrence, who has been actively involved in various social welfare initiatives, including supporting children’s education, funding heart surgeries, assisting persons with disabilities, and providing food to the underprivileged, has announced a new initiative through the Larencce Charitable Trust.

As the trust completes 20 years of service, Raghava Lawrence is introducing the ‘Pattu Saree Scheme’, an initiative aimed at bringing happiness to women, particularly those from rural communities. As part of the first phase, he plans to distribute 5,000 silk sarees to women in need.

The idea behind this initiative emerged from a touching incident during one of his visits to help people in need. A woman approached him with a letter expressing her wish to own a beautiful silk saree. After reading her request, Lawrence began thinking about how many women in rural areas might have spent their entire lives without getting an opportunity to own or wear a silk saree.

Moved by this thought, he decided to launch a special initiative to fulfil the wishes of such women and bring smiles to their faces. The scheme stems from his simple desire to spread happiness and receive the blessings of mothers.

Raghava Lawrence will officially launch the initiative on October 29, his birthday, in Royapuram, the place where he grew up.

Having completed two decades of charitable service, Lawrence is now taking another step towards helping those in need. He has sought everyone’s blessings and support for this new initiative.

The Pattu Saree Scheme is expected to bring joy to thousands of women by helping them fulfil a cherished wish and making a meaningful difference in their lives.
