இளையராஜா, சரத்குமார் இருவரும் தென்னிந்திய திரைப்பட எழுத்தாளர்கள் சங்கத்தில் இணைந்தனர்!**

திரைப்படம் என்பது காட்சிகளால் மட்டுமே உருவாகும் கலை அல்ல; அந்தக் காட்சிகளுக்கு உயிர் கொடுக்கும் கதை, திரைக்கதை, வசனம், பாடல் என எழுத்தின் பல்வேறு வடிவங்களும் திரைப்படத்தின் வெற்றிக்குப் பின்னால் முக்கியப் பங்காற்றுகின்றன. அந்த வகையில், தமிழ் திரையுலகில் தங்களுக்கென தனித்துவமான பங்களிப்பைச் செய்துள்ள இசைஞானி இளையராஜா மற்றும் நடிகரும் எழுத்தாளருமான சரத்குமார் ஆகியோர் தென்னிந்திய திரைப்பட எழுத்தாளர்கள் சங்கத்தில் இணைந்துள்ளனர்.

தமிழ் சினிமாவில் பல நூறு திரைப்படங்களுக்கு பாடல்கள் எழுதி, இசையுலகில் மட்டுமின்றி திரை எழுத்திலும் தனக்கென ஒரு தனி தடத்தைப் பதித்துள்ள இசைஞானி இளையராஜா அவர்களையும், திரைப்படங்களுக்கு கதை மற்றும் வசனம் எழுதியுள்ள சரத்குமார் அவர்களையும் தென்னிந்திய திரைப்பட எழுத்தாளர்கள் சங்க நிர்வாகிகள் நேரில் சந்தித்து, சங்கத்தில் உறுப்பினராக இணையுமாறு அன்புடன் அழைப்பு விடுத்தனர்.

சங்கத் தலைவர் சேரன், பொதுச்செயலாளர் பட்டுக்கோட்டை பிரபாகர், பொருளாளர் ஆர். சுந்தர்ராஜன், துணைத் தலைவர் சினேகன், இணைச் செயலாளர் பாஸ்கர் சக்தி, செயற்குழு உறுப்பினர் நவீன் ஆகியோர் இந்தச் சந்திப்பில் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.

சந்திப்பின்போது, “தாங்கள் நமது சங்கத்தில் உறுப்பினராக இருப்பது சங்கத்திற்கும், சங்கத்தில் உள்ள எழுத்தாளர்களுக்கும் பெருமை சேர்க்கும்” என்ற தங்களது விருப்பத்தை நிர்வாகிகள் இருவரிடமும் தெரிவித்தனர்.

இந்த அழைப்பை மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட இளையராஜா மற்றும் சரத்குமார், எந்தவித தயக்கமுமின்றி உறுப்பினர் விண்ணப்பப் படிவத்தில் ஆர்வத்துடன் கையெழுத்திட்டு, தென்னிந்திய திரைப்பட எழுத்தாளர்கள் சங்கத்தின் உறுப்பினர்களாக இணைந்தனர்.

இதன் அடையாளமாகவும், எழுத்தின் மீது கொண்ட மரியாதையின் அடையாளமாகவும், சங்கத்தின் சார்பில் இருவருக்கும் பேனா அன்பளிப்பாக வழங்கப்பட்டது. திரைப்படத்திற்கான எழுத்து எந்த வடிவத்தில் வெளிப்பட்டாலும், அதன் பின்னணியில் இருக்கும் படைப்பாளர்களை ஒரே குடையின் கீழ் கொண்டுவர வேண்டும் என்ற சங்கத்தின் நோக்கத்திற்கு இந்த இணைவு மேலும் சிறப்பு சேர்த்துள்ளது.

கதை, திரைக்கதை, வசனம், பாடல்கள் என திரைப்பட எழுத்தின் பரப்பளவு தொடர்ந்து விரிவடைந்து வரும் நிலையில், அந்தத் துறைகளில் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க பங்களிப்பைச் செய்து வரும் படைப்பாளர்களை அடையாளம் கண்டு, அவர்களை தென்னிந்திய திரைப்பட எழுத்தாளர்கள் சங்கத்தின் உறுப்பினர்களாக இணைக்கும் பணியை சங்க நிர்வாகம் தொடர்ந்து மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறது.

அந்த வகையில், தமிழ் சினிமாவின் வளர்ச்சிக்காக எழுத்தின் எந்த வடிவத்திலும் தொடர்ந்து பங்களித்து வரும் தகுதியான படைப்பாளர்களை நேரில் சந்தித்து, அவர்களை சங்கத்துடன் இணைக்கும் முயற்சிகள் இனிவரும் காலங்களிலும் தொடர்ந்து நடைபெறும் என்று தென்னிந்திய திரைப்பட எழுத்தாளர்கள் சங்கத்தின் நிர்வாகிகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

திரைப்பட எழுத்தாளர்களின் உரிமைகள், நலன் மற்றும் ஒற்றுமையை முன்னிறுத்தி செயல்பட்டு வரும் சங்கத்தின் உறுப்பினர் குடும்பத்தில், திரையுலகின் பல்வேறு துறைகளில் எழுத்துப் பங்களிப்பு செய்துவரும் முக்கியப் படைப்பாளர்கள் இணைவது, “திரைப்படத்தில் எழுத்து எந்த வடிவத்தில் இருந்தாலும் அது எழுத்தே” என்ற பரந்த பார்வைக்கு வலுசேர்க்கும் வகையில் அமைந்துள்ளது.

A New Chapter for Screenwriting: Ilaiyaraaja and Sarathkumar Join the South Indian Film Writers Association

Celebrated for their contributions to Tamil cinema, the two stalwarts enthusiastically become members of the association

Cinema is not built on visuals alone. Behind every memorable film are the words that give shape to its story, screenplay, dialogue and songs. Recognising the contribution of writers across these diverse forms, the South Indian Film Writers Association has welcomed two prominent personalities from Tamil cinema — legendary music composer and lyricist Ilaiyaraaja and actor-writer Sarathkumar — as its newest members.

A delegation from the association met Ilaiyaraaja, who has written songs for several hundred films and made an enduring contribution to Tamil cinema through his work in music and lyrics. The team also met Sarathkumar, who has contributed to cinema as a writer, including writing the story and dialogues for three films.

The delegation comprised Association President Cheran, General Secretary Pattukottai Prabhakar, Treasurer R. Sundarrajan, Vice President Snehan, Joint Secretary Bhaskar Sakthi, and Executive Committee Member Naveen.

During the meeting, the office-bearers expressed their wish for both stalwarts to become members of the association, conveying that their presence would be a matter of pride for the organisation and its members.

Both Ilaiyaraaja and Sarathkumar warmly accepted the invitation and signed the membership application forms with great enthusiasm, formally becoming members of the South Indian Film Writers Association.

As a gesture of affection and respect for their contribution to the art of writing, the association presented each of them with a pen — a simple yet meaningful symbol of the writer’s craft.

The association has been making a concerted effort to bring together accomplished personalities who have contributed to Tamil cinema through story, screenplay, dialogue and lyrics, irrespective of the form in which their writing has reached audiences.

The inclusion of Ilaiyaraaja and Sarathkumar marks another significant step in that ongoing effort. Their association with the organisation also reflects a broader understanding of film writing, where the creative contribution of a writer can take many forms — from shaping a story and crafting dialogue to giving expression to a song through words.

The South Indian Film Writers Association will continue reaching out to distinguished creative personalities who have made substantial contributions to Tamil cinema through writing and inviting them to become part of the association.

With this initiative, the association aims to strengthen the community of film writers, foster greater unity among creative professionals and create a broader platform that recognises and celebrates the many dimensions of writing in Indian cinema.
