1980களின் தென் மாவட்டங்களை பின்னணியாகக் கொண்டு உருவாகும் இந்த திரைப்படம், நாட்டார் மரபுகளிலும் தெய்வ நம்பிக்கைகளிலும் மறைந்திருக்கும் மர்ம சம்பவங்களை மையமாகக் கொண்டதாக உருவாகிறது. பல ஆண்டுகளாக மக்களின் வாய்மொழிக் கதைகளாக இருந்து வந்த உண்மை சம்பவங்களை சினிமா மொழியில் மிரட்டலாக சொல்லும் முயற்சியாக இப்படம் அமைகிறது.
இந்த படத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய சிறப்பம்சம் நடிகர் ரஹ்மான். இதுவரை அவர் நடித்திராத முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்ட கதாபாத்திரத்தில் அவர் நடிக்கிறார். 250-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட படங்களில் ஹீரோவாக ரசிகர்களை கவர்ந்த ரஹ்மான், இந்த படத்தில் தனது குடும்பத்தை அமானுஷ்ய சக்திகளிடமிருந்து காப்பாற்ற போராடும் ஜமீன் கதாபாத்திரமாக தோன்றுகிறார். அவரது திரைப்பயணத்தில் மிகவும் பேசப்படும் படமாக இது அமையும் என படக்குழுவினர் நம்பிக்கை தெரிவிக்கிறார்கள்.
“GENTLEWOMAN” படத்தை தயாரித்த “கோமளா ஹரி பிக்சர்ஸ்” நிறுவனத்தின் சார்பில் கோமளா மற்றும் ஹரி பாஸ்கரன் இணைந்து இப்படத்தை பிரமாண்டமாக தயாரிக்கிறார்கள். தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனத்தின் நான்காவது படைப்பாக உருவாகும் இந்த படத்திற்கு இன்னும் தலைப்பு அறிவிக்கப்படவில்லை என்றாலும், தற்போது থেকেই திரையுலகில் எதிர்பார்ப்பு உருவாகியுள்ளது.

Set against the backdrop of South Tamil Nadu in the 1980s, the film revolves around mysterious incidents hidden within folk traditions and deep-rooted spiritual beliefs. Inspired by real-life events that survived for decades through oral storytelling, the project promises to present a gripping cinematic experience filled with suspense and emotion.
One of the biggest highlights of the film is actor Rahman, who will be seen in a role unlike anything he has portrayed before. Having starred as a hero in over 250 films, Rahman takes on the powerful character of a Zamindar struggling to protect his family from terrifying supernatural forces. The team believes this film will mark a significant milestone in his celebrated cinematic journey.
The film is being produced on a grand scale by Komala and Hari Bhaskaran under the banner of “Komala Hari Pictures,” the production house behind “GENTLEWOMAN.” This untitled project marks the company’s fourth production venture and has already started creating strong buzz within the industry.
Acclaimed filmmaker Bharathi Balakumaran, who won praise for his rural drama “Vizha,” has written the story and screenplay and is directing the film. Actor Vishva plays the lead role alongside an ensemble cast that includes Mime Gopi, Aadukalam Naren, Risha Jacobs, Munishkanth, Anupama Kumar, Baba Bhaskar, Remya Suresh, and several others. Casting for additional important roles is currently underway.
The shooting of the film is scheduled to commence on the 22nd of this month and will continue across various locations in South Tamil Nadu, with a few important sequences planned in Chennai as well.
