தயாரிப்பாளர் அச்சின் ஜெயின் பேசுகையில், “இந்தப் படத்தை மறக்க முடியாத அனுபவமாக மாற்றிய ரசிகர்களுக்கும், படத்திற்காக உழைத்த ஒட்டுமொத்த படக்குழுவினருக்கும் எனது நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்” என்றார்.

சமூக ஆர்வலர் ஷபிதா பேசும்போது, “கடந்த 16 ஆண்டுகளாகத் திருநர் சமூகத்திற்காகப் பணியாற்றி வருகிறோம். பல்வேறு விழிப்புணர்வு முயற்சிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டிருந்தாலும், பல திரைப்படங்கள் வெளிவந்திருந்தாலும் ‘டோரதி’ எனக்கு மிகவும் சிறப்பான படமாக இருக்கிறது. படத்தைப் பார்த்து முடித்ததும் என்னைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியாமல் அழுதுவிட்டேன். எங்கள் சமூகத்தின் குரலாக இந்தப் படம் ஒலிக்கிறது.

என்னுடைய நிஜ வாழ்க்கையிலும் என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டவர் என் அண்ணிதான். அந்த வகையில், இந்தப் படம் எனது மனதை மிகவும் நெகிழச் செய்தது. திருநர் சமூகத்தினர் திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டு வாழ்வது குறித்தும், அவர்களின் உரிமைகள் குறித்தும் பேச வேண்டிய அவசியம் இன்னும் இருக்கிறது. படத்தின் கிளைமாக்ஸ் எழுப்பும் கேள்விகளையும் நாம் திறந்த மனதுடன் அணுக வேண்டும். திருநர் சமூகத்தினர் இன்னும் பல உயரங்களை அடைவார்கள் என்பதற்கு இந்தப் படம் ஒரு சாட்சியாக இருக்கும்” என்றார்.

மாளவிகா பேசுகையில், “கார்த்திக் சுப்புராஜின் சிந்தனையும், சுப்பு, ராஜ் உள்ளிட்ட கலைஞர்களின் பங்களிப்பும் இணைந்து ‘டோரதி’யை உருவாக்கியிருக்கின்றன. படத்தின் ஒவ்வொரு காட்சியும் மனதில் பதியக்கூடிய வகையில் அமைந்துள்ளது. ரிஷிகாந்த், சனந்த் என இரண்டு திறமையான நடிகர்களை இந்தப் படம் வெளிச்சத்திற்குக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறது.

நம்மை மதிக்கவில்லை என்றாலும் பரவாயில்லை; அவமானப்படுத்தாமலாவது இருக்க வேண்டும். இந்த ஆண்டில் நமக்குக் கிடைத்த முக்கியமான பரிசாக ‘டோரதி’யைப் பார்க்கிறேன். இப்படம் ஆஸ்கர் விருது வரை செல்ல வேண்டும் என்பது என் விருப்பம். யுவன் சங்கர் ராஜாவின் ‘ஊரோரம் புளியமரம்’ பாடல் ஏற்படுத்திய உணர்வை, இளையராஜா இசையில் இடம்பெற்ற ‘மீனாட்சி, காமாட்சி’ பாடல் வேறொரு அனுபவமாக மாற்றுகிறது. படக்குழுவினர் அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி” என்றார்.

சுபா பேசும்போது, “‘டோரதி’ இந்தச் சமூகத்திற்கான ஒரு புரட்சிகரமான முயற்சி. ‘பாம்பே’, ‘காஞ்சனா’, ‘அருவி’ போன்ற திரைப்படங்கள் திருநர் சமூகத்தைப் பல்வேறு கோணங்களில் வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளன. ஆனால், இன்றைய தலைமுறையினருக்கு மிகவும் அவசியமான ஒரு விஷயத்தை ‘டோரதி’ அழுத்தமாகப் பேசுகிறது. எதிர்காலத்திலும் சிந்திக்க வைக்கும் படமாக இது அமைந்துள்ளது.

இயக்குநர் வசந்தபாலன் பேசுகையில், “ஆணாதிக்கத்தையும், மாஸ் என்ற பெயரில் தவறான அணுகுமுறைகளையும் சினிமாவில் தொடர்ந்து புகுத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். அத்தகைய போக்குகளுக்குப் பதிலடி கொடுக்கும் படமாக ‘டோரதி’ வந்திருக்கிறது. ரோமியோ – ஜூலியட் போன்ற காதல் கதைகளின் வரிசையில் ரசிக்கவும் உணரவும் வைக்கும் படமாக இது இருக்கிறது. இந்தப் படத்திற்குத் தேசிய விருது கிடைக்க வேண்டும். ஒளிப்பதிவு படத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய பலம். இளையராஜா தனது இசையால் இப்படத்திற்கு ஆசீர்வாதம் வழங்கியிருக்கிறார். படக்குழுவினருக்கு வாழ்த்துகள்” என்றார்.

இயக்குநர் சசி பேசும்போது, “நான் ஒரு தமிழ் சினிமா இயக்குநர் என்பதில் பெருமை கொள்கிறேன். அதற்கான காரணங்களில் ஒன்றாக ‘டோரதி’ இருக்கிறது. மூன்றாம் பாலினத்தவரின் வாழ்க்கையை மையமாகக் கொண்டு ஒரு திரைப்படத்தை உருவாக்க இயக்குநர் கார்த்திக் சுப்புராஜ் முன்வந்திருப்பது பாராட்டுக்குரியது. அவர் இன்னும் பல உயரங்களை அடைய வேண்டும்” என்றார்.

இயக்குநர் லிங்குசாமி பேசுகையில், “அளவற்ற அன்பும் தைரியமும் கொண்ட ஒருவரால்தான் ‘டோரதி’ போன்ற படத்தை உருவாக்க முடியும். அந்த இரண்டும் கார்த்திக் சுப்புராஜிடம் இருக்கின்றன. நான் இந்தப் படத்தை இரண்டு முறை பார்த்திருக்கிறேன். இத்தனை அன்புடன் இப்படத்தை உருவாக்கிய கார்த்திக்கை வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் கொண்டாடலாம். இளையராஜாவின் இசை படத்திற்கு மிகப்பெரிய பலம். ரஜினி – கமல் போல ரிஷிகாந்த் – சனந்த் இருவரும் தனித்துவமான இடத்தைப் பிடிக்க வாழ்த்துகள்” என்றார்.

இயக்குநர் மிஷ்கின் பேசும்போது, “‘டோரதி’ படத்தின் மூலம் திருநர் சமூகத்தை மிக உயர்ந்த இடத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் சென்றிருக்கிறார் கார்த்திக் சுப்புராஜ். சமூகத்தில் நிலவும் தவறான பார்வைகளுக்கு மத்தியில், இந்தப் படம் மனிதநேயத்தையும் சகிப்புத்தன்மையையும் முன்னிறுத்துகிறது. வசூலைத் தாண்டி, காலத்தைக் கடந்து நிற்கக்கூடிய படைப்பாக இது இருக்கும்.

Social activist Shabitha, who has been working for the transgender community for the past 16 years, said, “We have been working for the transgender community for 16 years. Although several awareness initiatives have been undertaken and many films have addressed this subject, Dorothy will always remain special to me. After watching the film, I broke down and started crying uncontrollably. This film serves as the voice of our community.

“In my own life, my sister-in-law was the person who accepted me. That is why this film touched me so deeply. There is still a need to discuss the rights of transgender people and their right to lead fulfilling lives, including marriage. We must also be willing to openly discuss the questions raised by the film’s climax. The transgender community will continue to achieve greater heights, and this film stands as a testament to that possibility.”

Malavika Praises the Film’s Performances and Music

Malavika said, “Dorothy has come together through the creative contributions of Karthik Subbaraj and several talented artists, including Subbu and Raj.
