Fatima Sana Shaikh Believes Hunkkaar – The Roar Will Spark a Thoughtful Conversation Surrounding Children’s Conditioning, Talks About the Impact of Imbalanced Conditioning

Fatima Sana Shaikh is confident that Hunkkaar – The Roar will ignite a strong dialogue surrounding the conditioning of children, aiming for a shift in society that will prioritise balanced conditioning between girls and boys. During the trailer launch event of Hunkkaar, the actress talked about the dread of rape cases, registered ones and unregistered ones, and parents’ way of conditioning their children.

“In our country, around 87 rape cases are ‘reported’ and we don’t know how many more are there. So, only 87 girls have the courage to tell their parents, and they can go and report,” she says and points out the difference between talking about it on a platform and standing up for it. The actress further opened up about the difference between conditioning in girls and boys, where boys are often taught to be ‘brave’, which ideally results in being the root cause of imbalance in conditioning.

However, Shaikh understands that the parents are “not wrong in that. What they are trying to protect is their conditioning.” She believes that Hunkkaar will ignite a conversation and spark a change in this understanding and belief to have meaningful conversations with children. “A child can fight the world when his family is with him. He breaks down when the whole world beats him. So, imagine a child fighting the world when his parents are with him,” she says.
