அந்த வகையில், படத்தின் கதாநாயகன் தர்ஷன் கணேசன் செப்டம்பர் 19-ஆம் தேதி மதுரைக்கு சென்றிருந்தார். மதுரை சுகப்ரியா திரையரங்கில் நடைபெற்ற இந்தச் சந்திப்பில் அவருக்கு ரசிகர்களும் பொதுமக்களும் அளித்த உற்சாகமான வரவேற்பு, ஒரு திரைப்படத்தின் புரமோஷன் நிகழ்வைத் தாண்டி, ஒரு குடும்பத்திற்கும் ஒரு தலைமுறைக்கும் இடையிலான பாசத்தின் வெளிப்பாடாக அமைந்தது.

“சத்யஜோதி பிலிம்ஸ் தயாரிப்பில் நான் முதன்முதலாக நடித்து வெளிவரும் லெனின் பாண்டியன் இந்த மாதம் 25-ஆம் தேதி திரைக்கு வருகிறது. அதன் புரமோஷனுக்காக முதன்முறையாக மதுரை வந்தேன். மதுரை, மதுரை மக்கள், அவர்கள் அளித்த வரவேற்பு அனைத்துமே பிரமாதமாக இருந்தது” என அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

“தம்பி, உங்கள் தாத்தாவோடு இருந்தோம்… உங்கள் அப்பாவோடு இருந்தோம்… சித்தப்பாவோடு இருந்தோம்… அண்ணனோடும் இருந்தோம்… இனி உங்களோடும் கண்டிப்பாக இருப்போம்” என்று பலர் தன்னிடம் கூறியதாக அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

ஒரு குடும்பத்தின் பல தலைமுறைகளைக் கடந்து தொடரும் இந்த அன்பு, தன்னை ஆச்சரியத்திலும் நெகிழ்ச்சியிலும் ஆழ்த்தியதாகவும் அவர் கூறியுள்ளார்.

“அப்படியே ஐயாவைப் பார்த்த மாதிரி இருக்கீங்க…”

தன்னை சந்தித்த சிலர், தன்னைப் பார்த்தவுடன் “அப்படியே ஐயாவைப் பார்த்த மாதிரி இருக்கீங்க” என்று கூறியதாகவும் தர்ஷன் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

அந்த வார்த்தைகள் தனக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியைத் தந்தாலும், அதைவிட பெரிய அளவில் ஒரு பொறுப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தியிருப்பதாக அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

Darshan Ganesh moved by the warm reception during the ‘Lenin Pandian’ promotions — experiences Madurai’s generations-old affection for the Sivaji Ganesan family

Tamil cinema production house Sathya Jyothi Films, known for backing distinctive stories and films rooted in social realities, is gearing up for the release of Lenin Pandian, directed by debutant filmmaker D.D. Balachandran.

Centered around the social issue of illegal sand mining, the film explores the lives, rights and struggles of ordinary people whose lives are closely connected to the land. The movie also marks the acting debut of Darshan Ganesh, grandson of legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan, as the lead actor.

Lenin Pandian is scheduled to hit theatres on September 25, and the promotional activities for the film are currently underway across Tamil Nadu. The team has been travelling to various locations, meeting fans, the public and theatre representatives.

As part of the promotional tour, Darshan Ganesh visited Madurai on September 19. The interaction held at Sugapriya Theatre in Madurai turned out to be much more than a routine promotional event, as the actor received an enthusiastic welcome from fans and the public. “Lenin Pandian, produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, is my first film and it is releasing on the 25th of this month. I came to Madurai for the promotions for the first time. Madurai, the people of Madurai and the reception they gave me were all amazing,” he said.

What moved Darshan the most was the way people recalled their long-standing association with his family.

“Many people told me, ‘We were with your grandfather… we were with your father… we were with your uncle… we were with your brother… and now, we will definitely be with you too,’” Darshan recalled.

The affection that has continued across several generations of his family left him both surprised and emotional.

“You Look Just Like Him…”

Darshan also revealed that some of the people he met told him, “You look just like Ayya.”

While those words made him happy, he said they also brought with them a greater sense of responsibility.

Being part of the family of a legendary artist like Sivaji Ganesan comes with its own identity and expectations. At the same time, Darshan has expressed his desire to move beyond his family legacy and establish an identity of his own through his acting.
