ஓவியக் கலைக்குள் ஒளிந்திருக்கும் மர்மம்! நகைச்சுவை, திகில், ஃபேன்டஸி கலவையில் உருவாகும் ‘வர்ண கதைகள்’ வெப் தொடர்!

ஜே.கே. தமிழ் மீடியா புரொடக்ஷன்ஸ் தயாரிப்பில், இமானுவேல் கதை, திரைக்கதை எழுதி இயக்கும் புதிய வெப் தொடரின் படப்பிடிப்பு விரைவில் தொடங்குகிறது!

ஓவியங்களுக்கும் அவற்றை உருவாக்கும் கலைஞர்களுக்கும் பின்னால் பல கதைகள் மறைந்திருக்கலாம். அந்தக் கலை உலகத்தை மையமாக வைத்து, அதனுடன் நகைச்சுவை, திகில், கற்பனை எனப் பல அம்சங்களை இணைத்து புதிய அனுபவத்தைத் தரவிருக்கிறது ‘வர்ண கதைகள்’ வெப் தொடர்.

ஜே.கே. தமிழ் மீடியா புரொடக்ஷன்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தின் சார்பில் ஜே.ஜே எனும் ஜெயச்சந்திரன் இந்தத் தொடரை பிரம்மாண்டமாகத் தயாரிக்கிறார். பிரஜ்ஜன் நடிப்பில் விரைவில் வெளியாகவுள்ள ‘இறப்பின் ரகசியம்’ திரைப்படத்தை இயக்கிய இமானுவேல், ‘வர்ண கதைகள்’ தொடருக்குக் கதை, திரைக்கதை எழுதி இயக்குகிறார்.

சினிமாவில் சாதிக்க வேண்டும் என்ற கனவுடன் வாய்ப்புகளைத் தேடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் நான்கு நண்பர்கள், ஒரு பயணத்தைத் தொடங்குகின்றனர். அந்தப் பயணத்தில் எதிர்பாராத ஒரு கதாபாத்திரத்தைச் சந்திக்கும் அவர்கள், அதன் பின்னர் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளும் சம்பவங்களே தொடரின் கதைக்களமாக அமைகின்றன. இந்தச் சந்திப்பு அவர்களை எங்கே கொண்டு செல்கிறது, அடுத்து என்னென்ன சம்பவங்கள் நிகழ்கின்றன என்பதைக் கற்பனை, திகில், நகைச்சுவை ஆகியவற்றின் கலவையில் சுவாரஸ்யமாகச் சொல்லத் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளனர்.

குறிப்பாக, இன்றைய தொழில்நுட்ப வளர்ச்சிக்கு மத்தியில் ஓவியக் கலையும், ஓவியக் கலைஞர்களும் எதிர்கொள்ளும் சவால்களைப் பேசுவதுடன், அழிந்து வரும் கலை வடிவங்களை மீட்டெடுக்க வேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தையும் இந்தத் தொடர் எடுத்துரைக்கிறது.

இதுகுறித்து இயக்குநர் இமானுவேல் கூறுகையில், “கலைஞர்கள் அழிந்தாலும் கலைகள் அழிவதில்லை. ஆனால், இன்றைய தொழில்நுட்ப வளர்ச்சியால் ஓவியக் கலையும், ஓவியக் கலைஞர்களும் பல சவால்களை எதிர்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர். அந்தக் கலையை அழிவிலிருந்து மீட்டெடுக்கும் முயற்சியாகவே ‘வர்ண கதைகள்’ தொடரை உருவாக்குகிறோம்.

சினிமாவில் சாதிக்க வேண்டும் என்ற கனவுடன் காத்திருக்கும் நான்கு நண்பர்கள் மேற்கொள்ளும் பயணத்தில், அவர்கள் எதிர்பாராத ஒரு கதாபாத்திரத்திடம் சிக்கிக்கொள்கிறார்கள். அதன்பிறகு என்ன நடக்கிறது என்பதை நகைச்சுவை, திகில், கற்பனை எனப் பல சுவாரஸ்யமான அம்சங்களுடன் சொல்லவிருக்கிறோம். மேலும், நடிகர்களைச் சாராத ஒரு முக்கியக் கதாபாத்திரமும் இதில் இடம்பெறுகிறது. அது தமிழ் ரசிகர்களுக்குப் புதிய அனுபவமாக இருக்கும். முதல் கட்டமாக நான்கு எபிசோடுகளுக்கான படப்பிடிப்பு விரைவில் தொடங்கவுள்ளது” என்றார்.

இந்தத் தொடரில் மாறன், சென்ராயன், ஜெயச்சந்திரன், ப்ரணா, ஆர்.ஜே. புவனேஸ்வரி ஆகியோர் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடிக்கின்றனர். இவர்களுடன் நித்யா குயின், ரோஹிந்த், தீபா உள்ளிட்டோரும் இணைந்து நடிக்கின்றனர்.

அஷ்வின் நோயல் ஒளிப்பதிவைக் கவனிக்கிறார். ஸ்ரீமன் கலை இயக்கப் பணிகளையும், நந்தா படத்தொகுப்புப் பணிகளையும் மேற்கொள்கின்றனர். மக்கள் தொடர்புப் பணிகளை புவன் செல்வராஜ் கவனிக்கிறார்.

‘வர்ண கதைகள்’ வெப் தொடரின் பூஜை இன்று படக்குழுவினர் முன்னிலையில் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது. இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து, முதல் கட்டப் படப்பிடிப்பு விரைவில் தொடங்கவுள்ளது.

Art often holds stories that go beyond what meets the eye. Bringing the fascinating world of paintings and artists to the forefront, Varna Kathaigal is an upcoming web series that combines comedy, horror and fantasy to offer audiences a distinctive viewing experience.

The series is being grandly produced by J.J., popularly known as Jayachandran, under the banner of J.K. Tamil Media Productions. Emmanuel, who directed the upcoming film Irappin Ragasiyam, starring Prajjan, has written the story and screenplay and will also direct the series.

The story follows four friends who dream of making it big in the film industry and are waiting for their breakthrough opportunity. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they encounter a mysterious character and find themselves caught in a series of unusual events. What unfolds after this unexpected encounter forms the crux of the narrative, which promises an engaging blend of imagination, suspense, horror and humour.

Beyond its entertainment elements, Varna Kathaigal also aims to highlight the challenges faced by traditional painting and artists in an era dominated by rapid technological advancements. The series seeks to draw attention to the importance of preserving and reviving art forms that are gradually losing their place in the modern world.

Speaking about the project, director Emmanuel said, “Artists may disappear, but art never dies. However, with today’s technological advancements, painting and artists are facing several challenges. Varna Kathaigal is an attempt to revive and preserve this art form.

“The story revolves around four friends who are waiting for an opportunity to prove themselves in cinema. During their journey, they encounter an unexpected character and get caught up in a series of unusual events. We are presenting this story as a fantasy horror series infused with comedy and suspense.

“Additionally, the series features a significant character that is not dependent on a conventional actor. This element will offer Tamil audiences an unexpected and unique experience. The shooting for the first four episodes is scheduled to begin soon,” he added.

The series features Maran, Senrayan, Jayachandran, Prana and RJ Bhuvaneshwari in prominent roles. Nithya Queen, Rohindh and Deepa are also part of the cast.

Ashwin Noel is handling the cinematography, while Sriman is in charge of art direction. Nanda takes care of the editing, and Bhuvan Selvaraj is overseeing the public relations.

The pooja ceremony for Varna Kathaigal was held today in the presence of the cast and crew, marking the beginning of the project’s journey towards production. The first phase of shooting is expected to commence soon.

With its intriguing premise, unusual characters and a blend of comedy, horror and fantasy, Varna Kathaigal aims to deliver a refreshing experience for Tamil audiences while bringing the world of painting and its artistic heritage into the spotlight.
