மது அருந்துவது தனிமனிதனின் பழக்கமா, குடும்பத்தை பாதிக்கும் பிரச்சினையா அல்லது ஒட்டுமொத்த சமூகத்தையும் பாதிக்கும் ஒரு சவாலா? இந்தக் கேள்வியை சீரியஸான பிரச்சாரமாக அல்லாமல், நகைச்சுவை, காதல், சென்டிமென்ட் மற்றும் வணிகரீதியான பொழுதுபோக்கு அம்சங்களுடன் ரசிகர்களிடம் கொண்டு செல்லும் திரைப்படமாக உருவாகியுள்ளது ‘நல்லபடம்’.

C. பிரபுராம் இயக்கத்தில் உருவாகியுள்ள இப்படத்தில் டாக்டர் A. ஹரிஷ் கதாநாயகனாகவும், தனலட்சுமி கதாநாயகியாகவும் நடித்துள்ளனர். இப்படம் செப்டம்பர் 18ஆம் தேதி உலகம் முழுவதும் திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியாகிறது.

மது இல்லாமல் ஒரு நாள் கூட இருக்க முடியாத அளவுக்கு குடிப்பழக்கத்திற்கு அடிமையான இளைஞர் குமரன் தான் இப்படத்தின் மையக் கதாபாத்திரம். அவரது வாழ்க்கையில் மது ஒரு பழக்கமாக மட்டுமல்லாமல், அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையின் ஒரு பகுதியாகவே மாறிவிடுகிறது.

குமரனின் இந்தப் பழக்கத்தால் குடும்பத்தில் பல்வேறு பிரச்சினைகள் உருவாகின்றன. இருந்தாலும், அவரது தாயார் தொடர்ந்து மகனுக்கு ஆதரவாக இருக்கிறார். அதே நேரத்தில், அவரது சகோதரி அமுதா, குமரனின் குடிப்பழக்கத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாமல் தொடர்ந்து எதிர்த்து வருகிறார். காதலியும் குமரனை மதுவிலிருந்து மீட்டெடுக்க பல்வேறு முயற்சிகளை மேற்கொள்கிறார்.

இப்படி குடும்பத்தினர் ஒவ்வொருவரும் குமரனை மாற்ற முயற்சிக்கும் நிலையில், எதிர்பாராத விதமாக அவரைப் போன்றே மதுவை விரும்பும் சிலர் ஒன்றிணைந்து ஓர் அமைப்பை உருவாக்குகின்றனர். அந்த அமைப்பின் தலைவராக குமரனையே தேர்வு செய்கின்றனர். இதனால், ஏற்கனவே மதுவை தனது வாழ்க்கையின் முக்கிய அங்கமாகக் கருதும் குமரனுக்கு புதிய பொறுப்பும் கிடைக்கிறது.

ஆனால், அவரது வாழ்க்கையை தலைகீழாக மாற்றும் அறிவிப்பு ஒன்று வெளியாகிறது.

நாடு முழுவதும் மதுவுக்கு அரசு தடை விதிக்கிறது.

மது கிடைப்பதே தனது வாழ்க்கையின் அடிப்படை என்று நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் குமரனுக்கு, இந்தத் தடை மிகப்பெரிய அதிர்ச்சியாகிறது. இதுவரை மதுவைத் தேடி ஓடிய அவர், மதுவே இல்லாத ஒரு புதிய சூழலில் எப்படி வாழப் போகிறார் என்பதே கதையின் முக்கிய திருப்பமாக அமைகிறது.

மது கிடைக்காத சூழலில் குமரன் சந்திக்கும் பிரச்சினைகள், அவற்றை அவர் சமாளிக்கும் விதம், அவரைச் சுற்றியுள்ள மனிதர்களின் எதிர்வினைகள் என அடுத்தடுத்து நிகழும் சம்பவங்கள் நகைச்சுவையுடன் படமாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

ஒரு மனிதனின் குடிப்பழக்கம் அவனது தனிப்பட்ட வாழ்க்கையோடு முடிந்துவிடுவதில்லை. அது குடும்ப உறவுகள், பொருளாதாரம், மனநிலை மற்றும் சமூக உறவுகளிலும் ஏற்படுத்தும் தாக்கம் என்ன என்பதை ‘நல்லபடம்’ பேசுகிறது. அதே நேரத்தில், அந்தக் கருத்தை கனமான பிரச்சாரமாக மாற்றாமல், ரசிகர்கள் ரசிக்கும் வகையில் நகைச்சுவை மற்றும் பொழுதுபோக்கு அம்சங்களுடன் சொல்ல முயற்சி செய்திருக்கிறது.

“மது இல்லாமல் வாழ முடியுமா?” என்ற கேள்வியை மையமாக வைத்து உருவாகும் குமரனின் பயணம், அவருக்கு மட்டுமல்லாமல் அவரைச் சுற்றியிருக்கும் அனைவருக்கும் பல்வேறு சிக்கல்களை உருவாக்குகிறது. இதனால் சமூகக் கருத்துடன் கூடிய குடும்ப பொழுதுபோக்கு திரைப்படமாக இப்படம் உருவாகியுள்ளது.

காதல், குடும்ப சென்டிமென்ட், நகைச்சுவை மற்றும் சமூக விழிப்புணர்வு ஆகியவற்றை ஒரே கதைக்களத்தில் இணைத்து, அனைத்து தரப்பு ரசிகர்களும் ரசிக்கும் வகையில் ‘நல்லபடம்’ உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக படக்குழு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

படத்தில் முன்னணி கதாபாத்திரங்களுடன் மொட்டை ராஜேந்திரன், கல்கி ராஜா, ரமா, பிரியதர்ஷினி உள்ளிட்ட பலர் நடித்துள்ளனர்.

படத்தின் தொழில்நுட்பக் குழுவில் இனியன் J ஹாரிஸ் ஒளிப்பதிவை மேற்கொண்டுள்ளார். B.R. பிரகாஷ் படத்தொகுப்பு பணியையும், சகிஷ்ணா சேவியர் இசையமைப்புப் பணியையும் கவனித்துள்ளனர். பாடல்களுக்கு அஸ்மின் வரிகள் எழுதியுள்ளார்.

ஹரிஷ் சினிமாஸ் நிறுவனத்தின் சார்பில் A. அழகுபாண்டியன் இப்படத்தை தயாரித்துள்ளார். படத்தைத் தயாரித்துள்ள ஹரிஷ் சினிமாஸ் நிறுவனமே இப்படத்தை விநியோகம் செய்து வெளியிடுகிறது.

சமூகத்தில் நீண்ட காலமாக விவாதிக்கப்படும் மதுப் பழக்கம் மற்றும் அதன் தாக்கத்தை, வழக்கமான பிரச்சார பாணியிலிருந்து விலகி நகைச்சுவை மற்றும் வணிக சினிமா அம்சங்களுடன் சொல்லும் ‘நல்லபடம்’, ரசிகர்களை சிரிக்க வைப்பதுடன் சிந்திக்கவும் வைக்கும் படமாக இருக்கும் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

‘Nallapadam’ to Hit Theatres on September 18, Blending Comedy with a Strong Social Message

Chennai: Can a person addicted to alcohol imagine life without it? Director C. Praburam’s upcoming Tamil film ‘Nallapadam’ explores this question through a mix of comedy, romance, family emotions and a strong social message.

Starring Dr. A. Harish in the lead role and Thanalakshmi as the female lead, the film is set to release worldwide in theatres on September 18.

The story revolves around Kumaran, a man whose life has become deeply intertwined with alcohol. His drinking habit becomes a constant source of concern for his family. While his mother continues to stand by him, his sister Amudha strongly opposes his addiction and keeps trying to make him change his ways. His girlfriend also makes repeated attempts to help him come out of his drinking habit.

However, Kumaran’s life takes an unexpected turn when a group of people who share his passion for alcohol come together and form an organisation. They choose Kumaran as their leader, placing him in a rather unusual position.

Things take an even more dramatic turn when the government announces a nationwide ban on alcohol.

For Kumaran, who considers alcohol an inseparable part of his life, the sudden ban becomes a huge challenge. How will he survive without the one thing he has become dependent on? What happens to his newly formed organisation? And how will he deal with the unexpected situations that follow?

These situations form the core of ‘Nallapadam’, with the film presenting Kumaran’s struggles through humour and entertaining situations.

While the film has a strong social subject at its heart, the makers have chosen not to present it as a serious or preachy drama. Instead, the impact of alcohol on individuals, families and society is explored through comedy, romance, sentiment and commercial entertainment.

The film aims to make audiences laugh while also encouraging them to think about the consequences of alcohol addiction and the effect it can have on family relationships and society at large.

The cast also includes Motta Rajendran, Kalki Raja, Rama and Priyadarshini, among others.

On the technical front, Iniyan J Harris is the cinematographer, while B.R. Prakash handles the editing. Sakishna Xavier has composed the music, with Asmin penning the lyrics.

Produced by A. Alagupandian under the banner of Harish Cinemas, the film is also being distributed and released by Harish Cinemas.

With an unconventional storyline that combines a socially relevant theme with humour and commercial elements, ‘Nallapadam’ is gearing up to offer audiences an entertaining cinematic experience while delivering a message about the consequences of alcohol addiction.
