தமிழ் சினிமாவில் கிரிக்கல், கால்பந்து, கபடி உள்ளிட்ட விளையாட்டுகளை மையமாகக் கொண்ட படங்கள் வெளியாகியிருந்தாலும், வாலிபாலை பிரதான கதைக்களமாகக் கொண்டு உருவாகும் திரைப்படம் இதுவரை இல்லாத நிலையில், அந்த வெற்றிடத்தை நிரப்பும் முயற்சியாக உருவாகி வருகிறது ‘அட்டாக்கர்’.
இப்படத்தின் மூலம் நடிகர் தனுஷின் மருமகன் பவிஷ் மற்றும் நடிகை குஷ்பு – இயக்குநர் சுந்தர் சி தம்பதியரின் மகள் அவந்திகா சுந்தர் இணைந்து நடிக்கின்றனர். சமீபத்தில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட அறிமுக வீடியோ ரசிகர்கள் மத்தியில் நல்ல வரவேற்பைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.

‘Attacker’ Draws Attention as Tamil Cinema’s First Volleyball-Centric Film; Pavish and Avantika Team Up
While Tamil cinema has previously explored sports such as cricket, football, and kabaddi, there has never been a feature film built entirely around volleyball. Filling that gap is “Attacker,” a sports drama that is already generating interest for its unique theme and fresh casting.
The film stars Pavish, Dhanush’s nephew, alongside Avantika Sundar, daughter of actress Khushbu Sundar and actor-director Sundar C. The recently released introduction video has received a positive response from audiences and film enthusiasts alike.
Produced by Zinema Media and Entertainment Limited, “Attacker” marks the company’s third production venture. Beyond being a sports film, the project aims to explore the emotions, social realities, and cultural identity associated with volleyball, offering a deeper narrative rooted in the sport.
The film is written and directed by debutant Thamo Nagabooshanam, who previously worked as an associate director with acclaimed filmmaker Pa. Ranjith. To ensure authenticity, several leading Indian volleyball players have been cast in key roles, bringing real-life sporting experience to the screen.
Adding to the film’s credibility, lead actors Pavish and Avantika, along with other cast members, underwent more than six months of intensive training with professional volleyball players to prepare for their roles.
“Attacker” also marks the Tamil cinema debut of Avantika Sundar as a leading actress, making the project a significant milestone in her career and adding further curiosity around the film.
Principal photography is set to take place across major locations in South India, with production progressing steadily.
