இயற்கை விவசாயிகளுக்கு விருது வழங்கிய நடிகர் சௌந்தரராஜா

நடிகரும் சமூக ஆர்வலருமான சௌந்தரராஜா, தனது “மண்ணுக்கும் மக்களுக்கும் அறக்கட்டளை” சார்பில், ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் நம்மாழ்வாரின் பிறந்த நாளை முன்னிட்டு நேர்மையாக இயற்கை விவசாயம் செய்யும் விவசாயிகளுக்கு விருதுகளையும் ரொக்க பரிசுகளையும் வழங்கி வருகிறார். அந்த வகையில் இந்த ஆண்டு தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டத்தில் 11 இயற்கை விவசாயிகளுக்கு நம்மாழ்வார் விருதும், தலா ரூ.5,000 ரொக்கப் பரிசும் வழங்கி கவுரவித்தார்.

இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து செய்தியாளர்களைச் சந்தித்த அவர் கூறியதாவது:

“நம்மாழ்வாரின் பிறந்த நாளை முன்னிட்டு தஞ்சாவூரைச் சேர்ந்த 11 இயற்கை விவசாயிகளுக்கு எனது மண்ணுக்கும் மக்களுக்கும் அறக்கட்டளை மூலம் விருதும் ரொக்கப் பரிசும் வழங்கி, அவர்களுக்கான எனது நன்றியை வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளேன். இதை எனது வாழ்க்கையின் மிகப்பெரிய அர்த்தமுள்ள தருணங்களில் ஒன்றாகக் கருதுகிறேன்.

கடந்த ஆண்டு மதுரை மாவட்டம் உசிலம்பட்டியில் 11 விவசாயிகளுக்கு விருதுகளும் ரொக்கப் பரிசுகளும் வழங்கினோம். அப்போது கிடைத்த வரவேற்பும், விவசாயிகளின் மகிழ்ச்சியும் இந்த ஆண்டும் இந்நிகழ்வை நடத்துவதற்கு ஊக்கமாக அமைந்தது. கடந்த ஆண்டைப் போலவே இந்த ஆண்டும் நிகழ்ச்சி சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது.

இவ்விழாவில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்களாகக் கலந்து கொண்ட தஞ்சாவூர் சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர் திரு. இரா. விஜய் சரவணன் அவர்களுக்கும் இயற்கை விவசாயம் பற்றி சிறப்புரை வழங்கிய வேளாண் செம்மல் திரு.கோ.சித்தர் அவர்களுக்கும் எனது மனமார்ந்த நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். மேலும் நம்மாழ்வாரின் அண்ணன் மகன் பூமிநாதன் அவர்களும் கலந்து கொண்டது மகிழ்ச்சியாக கருதுகிறேன்.

இன்றைய இளைஞர்கள் விவசாயத்தின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை உணர வேண்டும். உணவை உருவாக்கும் விவசாயிகளை மதிக்கும் மனப்பான்மை சமூகத்தில் வளர வேண்டும். இயற்கை விவசாயம் என்பது வெறும் விவசாய முறை மட்டுமல்ல; அது மண்ணையும், மனிதர்களின் ஆரோக்கியத்தையும் பாதுகாக்கும் வாழ்க்கை முறையாகும்.

தற்போதைய “முதலமைச்சர் திரு.ஜோசப் விஜய் அவர்கள் அடுத்த ஜென்மம் என்று இருந்தால் நான் விவசாய மகனாக பிறப்பேன்” என்று கூறியிருந்தார். அதனால் கண்டிப்பான முறையில் விவசாயிகளுக்கு அவர் நல்லது செய்வார் என்று எனக்கு மிகப்பெரிய நம்பிக்கை இருக்கிறது.

விவசாயிகளைப் பாதுகாப்பதும், இயற்கை விவசாயத்தை மீட்டெடுப்பதும் நமது கடமையாகும். அதிகளவில் மரங்களை நட வேண்டும், நீர்நிலைகளைப் பாதுகாக்க வேண்டும், நடப்பட்ட மரங்களை முறையாகப் பராமரிக்க வேண்டும். சுற்றுச்சூழலை காக்கும் பணிகளில் அனைவரும் பங்கேற்க வேண்டும் என்பதே எங்களின் நோக்கம்.

எனது மண்ணுக்கும் மக்களுக்கும் அறக்கட்டளை மூலம் வருங்காலங்களிலும் விவசாயிகள், மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் சமூக நலன் சார்ந்த பல்வேறு திட்டங்கள் தொடர்ந்து முன்னெடுக்கப்படும்” என்றார்.

இந்நிகழ்வில் மண்ணுக்கு மக்களுக்கும் அறக்கட்டளையின் தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்ட உறுப்பினர்கள், மற்றும் அனைத்து மாவட்ட உறுப்பினர்களும் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

Actor Soundararaja Honours Natural Farmers with Nammalvar Awards in Thanjavur

Actor and social activist Soundararaja honoured 11 natural farmers from Thanjavur district with the Nammalvar Award and a cash prize of ₹5,000 each as part of an initiative by his Mannukkum Makkalukkum Foundation. The awards were presented to recognise farmers who have been sincerely practising natural farming, coinciding with the birth anniversary of renowned agriculturalist Nammalvar.

Speaking to the media after the event, Soundararaja said the initiative was a heartfelt gesture to express gratitude to the farmers who dedicate their lives to producing food. He described the occasion as one of the most meaningful moments in his life and emphasised that recognising farmers is a responsibility shared by society.

He recalled that a similar award ceremony was organised last year in Usilampatti, Madurai district, where 11 farmers were honoured. The overwhelming response and appreciation from the farming community encouraged his foundation to continue the initiative this year as well.

Highlighting the importance of agriculture, Soundararaja urged the younger generation to understand the value of farming and develop greater respect for those who cultivate food. He noted that natural farming is not merely an agricultural practice but a sustainable way of life that protects both the soil and human health.

Referring to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay, Soundararaja mentioned the Chief Minister’s statement that, “If there is another birth, I would like to be born as a farmer’s son.” He expressed confidence that the government would continue to introduce welfare measures benefiting the farming community.

He also stressed the need to protect farmers, revive natural farming practices, plant more trees, conserve water bodies, and ensure that planted trees are properly maintained. He called upon the public to actively participate in environmental conservation efforts.

Soundararaja further announced that the Mannukkum Makkalukkum Foundation will continue to implement various initiatives in the future for the welfare of farmers, students, and society at large.

The event was attended by Thanjavur MLA R. Vijay Saravanan as the chief guest, while noted agriculture expert Ko. Sithar delivered a special address on natural farming. Bhoominathan, nephew of Nammalvar, also participated in the programme. Members of the Mannukkum Makkalukkum Foundation from Thanjavur and other districts were present at the event.
