ஒரே மேடையில் 125 திரைப்பட நடன இயக்குநர்கள்… 38 மாவட்ட நடன ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு சிறப்பு கவுரவம்; ‘டான்ஸ் டான் 2’ மூலம் புதிய வரலாறு படைத்த ஸ்ரீதர் ஏஆர்எஸ் டான்ஸ் அகாடமி

 

சென்னையில் நடைபெற்ற ‘டான்ஸ் டான் 2’ நிகழ்ச்சி, நடனக் கலை உலகையே ஒரே மேடையில் ஒன்றிணைத்த அரிய நிகழ்வாக அமைந்தது. கலைமாமணி ஸ்ரீதர் தலைமையில் செயல்பட்டு வரும் ஏஆர்எஸ் டான்ஸ் அகாடமி, திரைப்பட நடனக் கலைஞர்கள் மற்றும் நடன ஆசிரியர்களின் பங்களிப்பை கௌரவிக்கும் நோக்கில் இந்த பிரம்மாண்ட விழாவை நடத்தியது.

முன்னணி நடன இயக்குநரான கலைமாமணி ஸ்ரீதர் மற்றும் அவரது மகள் அக்ஷதா ஸ்ரீதர் இணைந்து நடத்தி வரும் ஏஆர்எஸ் டான்ஸ் அகாடமி, சென்னையின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான மாணவர்களுக்கு நடனப் பயிற்சி அளித்து வருகிறது. கலை வளர்ச்சியுடன் கலைஞர்களின் அர்ப்பணிப்பையும் பாராட்டும் வகையில் தொடர்ந்து பல்வேறு நிகழ்ச்சிகளை நடத்தி வரும் இந்த அகாடமி, அதன் அடுத்த முயற்சியாக ‘டான்ஸ் டான் 2’ நிகழ்ச்சியை சென்னையில் உள்ள வேல்ஸ் கலையரங்கில் கோலாகலமாக நடத்தி வருகிறது.

இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியின் மிகப்பெரிய சிறப்பம்சமாக, 1973 முதல் 2026 வரை தமிழ் திரைப்பட உலகில் பணியாற்றிய 125 நடன இயக்குநர்கள் ஒரே மேடையில் கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டனர். மேலும், தமிழகத்தின் அனைத்து மாவட்டங்களிலும் நடனப் பள்ளிகளை நடத்தி வரும் 38 நடன ஆசிரியர்களுக்கும் சிறப்பு மரியாதை செலுத்தப்பட்டது. திரைத்துறையில் இதுபோன்ற விரிவான கௌரவிப்பு நிகழ்ச்சி நடைபெற்றது அரிதான ஒன்றாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது.

இதனுடன், ஏஆர்எஸ் டான்ஸ் அகாடமி மாணவர்கள் வழங்கிய பல்வேறு நடன நிகழ்ச்சிகள் பார்வையாளர்களின் கைதட்டலை பெற்றன. பாரம்பரிய நடனம் முதல் நவீன நடன வடிவங்கள் வரை பல்வேறு கலைநிகழ்ச்சிகள் விழாவிற்கு கூடுதல் சிறப்பை சேர்த்தன.

நிகழ்ச்சியில் பேசிய நடன இயக்குநர் ஸ்ரீதர், “திரைப்பட நடன உலகில் பல தலைமுறைகளாக பணியாற்றிய கலைஞர்களின் விவரங்களை சேகரிக்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தில் நான் ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்டேன். அப்போது 1973 முதல் இன்று வரை 125 நடன இயக்குநர்கள் திரைத்துறையில் பங்களித்திருப்பது தெரியவந்தது. இவர்களில் சிலர் முன்னாள் முதல்வர்கள் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். மற்றும் ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா நடித்த திரைப்படங்களிலும் பணியாற்றிய பெருமைக்குரியவர்கள். அவர்களை ஒரே மேடையில் கௌரவிப்பது என் நீண்ட நாள் கனவாக இருந்தது; அது இன்று நனவாகியுள்ளது,” என்று நெகிழ்ச்சியுடன் தெரிவித்தார்.

மேலும் அவர் கூறுகையில், “இந்த 125 நடன இயக்குநர்களில் பலருக்கு தற்போது போதிய திரைப்பட வாய்ப்புகள் இல்லை. அதேபோல், மாவட்டங்களில் நடனப் பள்ளிகளை நடத்தி வரும் ஆசிரியர்களும் பல சவால்களை எதிர்கொண்டு வருகிறார்கள். இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி அவர்களின் பங்களிப்பை சமூகத்திற்கு மீண்டும் நினைவூட்டுவதோடு, அவர்களுக்கு புதிய வாய்ப்புகளையும் அங்கீகாரத்தையும் உருவாக்கும் என்று நம்புகிறேன்,” என்றார்.

நடனக் கலைஞர்களின் அர்ப்பணிப்பையும், பல தலைமுறைகளாக கலைக்காக உழைத்து வரும் கலைஞர்களின் சேவையையும் கவுரவிக்கும் நோக்கில் நடைபெற்ற ‘டான்ஸ் டான் 2’ நிகழ்ச்சி, தமிழ் திரைப்பட நடன உலகில் மறக்க முடியாத மைல்கல்லாக அமைந்துள்ளது. கலைஞர்களின் உழைப்புக்கு மரியாதை செலுத்திய இந்த முயற்சிக்கு திரைப்படத் துறையினரும், நடன உலகினரும் பாராட்டுகளைத் தெரிவித்து வருகின்றனர்.

Dance Don 2 Creates History in Chennai: 125 Film Choreographers and 38 Dance School Teachers Honoured on a Single Stage

Chennai, July 25: In a landmark celebration of dance and cinema, Kalaimamani Sridhar ARS Dance Academy hosted the grand “Dance Don 2” event at Vels Auditorium, Chennai, bringing together generations of dance artists under one roof. The event paid tribute to the invaluable contributions of choreographers and dance educators who have shaped the Tamil film industry and inspired countless aspiring dancers.

Founded and led by renowned choreographer Kalaimamani Sridhar, along with his daughter Akshatha Sridhar, ARS Dance Academy has been nurturing young dance talent across Chennai for several years. Apart from offering professional dance training, the academy has consistently organised events that celebrate and recognise the achievements of artists from the dance fraternity.

The highlight of Dance Don 2 was the felicitation of 125 film choreographers who have contributed to the Tamil film industry between 1973 and 2026. In addition, 38 dance school teachers representing every district of Tamil Nadu were honoured for their dedication to promoting dance and mentoring future generations.

The event also featured vibrant performances by students of ARS Dance Academy, showcasing a variety of dance styles that captivated the audience and reflected the academy’s commitment to artistic excellence.

Speaking at the event, Sridhar Master said that the idea for the programme emerged from his desire to document and honour every choreographer who has contributed to Tamil cinema over the past five decades.

“While researching the history of film choreographers, I discovered that 125 choreographers have been part of the Tamil film industry since 1973. Some among them had the privilege of working with former Chief Ministers M.G. Ramachandran and J. Jayalalithaa. Bringing all of them together on one stage has been a long-cherished dream,” he said.

He further noted that many veteran choreographers are currently waiting for meaningful opportunities, while several dance school teachers continue to run their institutions despite numerous challenges.

“If this initiative helps veteran choreographers find new opportunities and brings greater recognition to dance teachers across Tamil Nadu, I will consider this event a true success,” Sridhar added.

By honouring both legendary choreographers and grassroots dance educators, Dance Don 2 has emerged as a unique initiative celebrating the rich legacy of dance in Tamil cinema. The event stands as a tribute to the artists whose creativity and dedication have influenced generations and continues to inspire the future of the dance community.
