இயக்குநர் தரணி ராசேந்திரன் தனது இரண்டாவது திரைப்படமான ‘டெத் ரயில்வே’ படத்தின் ஃபர்ஸ்ட் லுக் மற்றும் கிளிம்ப்ஸ் காட்சிகளை தனது பிறந்தநாளை முன்னிட்டு வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். விமர்சன ரீதியாகப் பாராட்டுகளையும், திரையரங்குகளில் வரவேற்பையும் பெற்ற ‘யாத்திசை’ படத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து, இரண்டாம் உலகப்போர் மற்றும் இந்தியாவின் சுதந்திரப் போராட்டத்தின் பின்னணியில் மற்றுமொரு பிரம்மாண்டமான வரலாற்று திரைப்படத்தை இயக்குகிறார் தரணி ராசேந்திரன்.

‘Death Railway’: Yathisai Director Dharani Rajendran Unveils First Look and Glimpse of His Next Historical Drama!

Following the critical acclaim and theatrical appreciation received for Yathisai, filmmaker Dharani Rajendran is all set to take audiences on another intriguing historical journey with his upcoming film Death Railway. On the occasion of his birthday, the director unveiled the film’s first-look poster and glimpse, raising expectations among movie buffs.

Moving away from conventional war drama narratives, Death Railway explores a lesser-known chapter of history, set against the backdrop of World War II in 1944. The story unfolds during a crucial period when Japanese forces advanced towards India through Burma, bringing the region into a tense military situation. The film aims to shed light on the challenges faced by Indian soldiers during this turbulent period and the struggles that unfolded beyond the country’s borders.

While India’s freedom struggle was gaining momentum on home soil, Indian soldiers were fighting their own battles on distant fronts. Through this historical setting, Death Railway explores the lesser-known experiences of these soldiers, blending the intensity of war with an emotional romantic narrative.

Sasikumar plays the lead role in the film, portraying an officer of the Indian National Army. The ensemble cast includes Samuthirakani, Syeon, Kishore, Bhavani Sre and Shivada in important roles. Actor Ashok Selvan will also make a special appearance in the film. The combination of experienced performers and a compelling historical backdrop adds to the film’s appeal.

With Yathisai, Dharani Rajendran earned recognition for his distinctive filmmaking style and his ability to recreate a historical world with impressive attention to detail. The director now ventures into an entirely different period with Death Railway. Produced by J. Kamalakkannan under the banner of J.K. Film International, Death Railway is written and directed by Dharani Rajendran. Sarthak Kalyani is composing the music, with A.C. Charles Raj contributing additional music. R. Sethumurugavel Jeganathan is handling cinematography, while Mahendran Ganesan is in charge of editing.

Malathi Narayanan serves as the associate director, while Veeramani Ganesan is the production designer and Livi James heads the art direction. Stunt choreography is handled by Mirattal Selva. Saravanan Ramachandran is responsible for sound design, while T.S. Hari Hara Sudheen oversees the visual effects. K.C. Boopathy Raja handles sound mixing, and Neithal has penned the lyrics.

The technical team also includes costume designer Sri Nisha and colourist Parajithar. P.J. Akash and Venki Chandrasekar serve as visual effects supervisors. Kumaran K. is the still photographer, Nagaraj Selvam is the executive producer, and Thiruneelakandan G. is the production executive.
