சமீபத்தில் பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் திரு. சி.வி. சண்முகம் அவர்கள் பொதுக்கூட்டத்தில் பேசிய ஒரு காணொளி சமூக வலைதளங்களில் பரவி பெரும் சர்ச்சையை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. குறிப்பாக நடிகை நயன்தாராவை உட்பட சினிமா நடிகைகள் குறித்து பயன்படுத்தப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகள் மிகவும் கீழ்த்தரமாகவும், பெண்களை அவமதிக்கும் வகையிலும் இருப்பதாக தென்னிந்திய நடிகர் சங்கம் கடும் கண்டனம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

இதுகுறித்து வெளியிடப்பட்ட அறிக்கையில், “அரசியல் மேடைகளில் கருத்து வேறுபாடுகள் இருக்கலாம். கட்சிகள் தங்களின் கொள்கை அடிப்படையில் விமர்சனங்களை முன்வைக்கலாம். ஆனால் மக்கள் தேர்ந்தெடுத்த பிரதிநிதிகள் பேசும் வார்த்தைகள் அடிப்படை கண்ணியத்தையும் பொறுப்பையும் கடைபிடிக்க வேண்டியது அவசியம்” என குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

மேலும், நடிகைகள் குறித்து அவமதிக்கும் விதத்தில் பேசுவது அரசியல் நாகரிகத்திற்கு ஒவ்வாதது என்றும், சமூகத்தில் பெண்கள் இன்று பல துறைகளில் சாதனை படைத்து வரும் நிலையில் இத்தகைய கருத்துக்கள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியாதவை என்றும் நடிகர் சங்கம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

வான்வெளி ஆய்வு முதல் மருத்துவம், கல்வி, சட்டம், போக்குவரத்து போன்ற பல துறைகளில் பெண்கள் முன்னிலை வகித்து வருகிறார்கள். அரசியலிலும் பெண்கள் முக்கிய பங்கு வகித்துள்ளனர் என்பதை நினைவுபடுத்திய நடிகர் சங்கம், பெண்களை மரியாதையுடன் அணுகுவது சமூக பொறுப்பு என வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளது.

South Indian Artistes’ Association Condemns MP C.V. Shanmugam’s Remarks; Demands Apology

 

A video of a recent public speech by Member of Parliament C.V. Shanmugam has been circulating widely on social media, sparking controversy. The South Indian Artistes’ Association has strongly condemned the remarks made during the speech, particularly the words used about actress Nayanthara and women from the film industry, stating that they were derogatory and disrespectful.

In a statement issued by the association, it said that while political parties may express their views and ideological differences on public platforms, elected representatives must exercise responsibility and maintain basic dignity in their speech.

The association further stated that making insulting remarks about actresses is unacceptable and does not reflect political civility. At a time when women are excelling in various fields, such comments are inappropriate and unacceptable.

The statement also highlighted that women today are making remarkable contributions in many sectors, including space research, medicine, education, law, and public transportation. Women have also played significant roles in politics, and therefore it is essential that they are treated with respect in every sphere of society.

The South Indian Artistes’ Association has demanded that C.V. Shanmugam publicly apologize for his remarks about actress Nayanthara and women from the film industry. The association also urged him to assure that he will refrain from making disrespectful comments about women in the entertainment industry in the future.

The association concluded by stating that members of the film fraternity stand united in protecting the dignity and respect of women.
