“ரவி தேஜாவை இதுவரை இப்படிப் பார்த்திருக்க முடியாது!” – ‘இருமுடி கட்டு’ குறித்து இயக்குநர் சிவா நிர்வாணா

உணர்வுகளை மையமாகக் கொண்டு கதைகளைச் சொல்லும் இயக்குநர்களில் ஒருவரான சிவா நிர்வாணா, தற்போது தனது புதிய படமான ‘இருமுடி கட்டு’ மூலம் முற்றிலும் புதிய களத்தைத் தேர்வு செய்துள்ளார். ‘நின்னு கோரி’, ‘மஜிலி’, ‘டக் ஜெகதீஷ்’, ‘குஷி’ உள்ளிட்ட படங்களின் மூலம் கவனம் பெற்ற அவர், முதல் முறையாக மாஸ் மகாராஜா ரவி தேஜாவுடன் இணைந்துள்ளார்.

ரவி தேஜாவின் வழக்கமான மாஸ் கதாபாத்திரங்களிலிருந்து முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்ட ஒரு பரிமாணத்தை இந்தப் படம் வெளிப்படுத்தும் என்கிறார் சிவா நிர்வாணா. அதே நேரத்தில், ரசிகர்கள் அவரிடம் எதிர்பார்க்கும் எனர்ஜியும் திரையரங்க அனுபவமும் படத்தில் இருக்கும் என அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

இதுகுறித்து இயக்குநர் சிவா நிர்வாணா கூறுகையில், “மனித உணர்வுகளை ஆழமாகப் பேசும் ஒரு கதையை உருவாக்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தில்தான் ‘இருமுடி கட்டு’ உருவானது. ஐயப்ப சுவாமியைப் பின்னணியாகக் கொண்டிருப்பது கதைக்கு ஒரு தனித்துவமான அடையாளத்தை கொடுக்கிறது. ஆனால், பக்தியை மட்டுமே மையமாக வைத்து இந்தப் படத்தை உருவாக்கவில்லை.

ஒரு தந்தைக்கும் மகளுக்கும் இடையிலான உறவு, அந்த உறவுக்குள் ஏற்படும் உணர்வுகள், தவறுகள் மற்றும் அதன்பிறகு உருவாகும் மனமாற்றம்தான் கதையின் முக்கியமான பகுதி. ஐயப்ப சுவாமியின் யாத்திரை மற்றும் அதைச் சுற்றியுள்ள பாரம்பரியங்கள் எனக்கு சிறுவயது முதலே பரிச்சயமானவை. அந்த ஆன்மீகப் பின்னணியை கதையுடன் இணைத்தபோது, மனித உணர்வுகளுக்கு இன்னொரு ஆழம் கிடைத்தது.

ரவி தேஜாவுடன் பணியாற்றிய அனுபவம் குறித்துப் பேசிய அவர், “ரவி தேஜா சாருடன் பணியாற்றியது எனக்கு மிகச் சிறந்த அனுபவம். ரசிகர்கள் அவரை இதுவரை பார்த்திராத ஒரு கதைக்களத்தில் பார்க்க வேண்டும் என்பதுதான் என்னுடைய விருப்பமாக இருந்தது. அதே நேரத்தில், அவருடைய இயல்பான எனர்ஜி மற்றும் வசீகரத்தையும் படத்தில் பார்க்க முடியும்.

பிரியா பவானி சங்கர், பேபி நக்ஷத்ரா, சாய் குமார் உள்ளிட்ட நடிகர்களும் படத்தில் முக்கியமான கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடித்துள்ளனர். ஒவ்வொரு உறவுக்கும் முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்து திரைக்கதை அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும், கதையை நகர்த்துவதற்காக மட்டுமே உணர்வுகளை பயன்படுத்தாமல், அவை இயல்பாக வெளிப்பட வேண்டும் என்பதில் கவனம் செலுத்தியதாகவும் இயக்குநர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

“You’ve Never Seen Ravi Teja Like This Before!” – Director Shiva Nirvana on ‘Irumudi Kattu’

A heartfelt story of family, faith and transformation, ‘Irumudi Kattu’ is set for a worldwide theatrical release on August 21, 2026

Known for telling stories driven by human emotions, director Shiva Nirvana is entering a new territory with his upcoming film ‘Irumudi Kattu’. After making a mark with films such as Ninnu Kori, Majili, Tuck Jagadish and Kushi, the filmmaker is collaborating with Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja for the first time.

According to Shiva Nirvana, ‘Irumudi Kattu’ presents Ravi Teja in a completely different dimension from the characters audiences have seen him play before. At the same time, the film retains the energy and theatrical appeal that fans associate with the actor.

At the heart of ‘Irumudi Kattu’ is the relationship between a father and his daughter. However, the film goes beyond their bond to explore faith, mistakes, emotions, spirituality and personal transformation.

Although Lord Ayyappa and the traditions surrounding the Ayyappa pilgrimage form an important backdrop, the film is not solely centred on devotion. Instead, Shiva Nirvana explores how spirituality becomes a part of everyday life and how faith can influence a person’s journey towards change.

Speaking about the film, director Shiva Nirvana said, “When I began writing ‘Irumudi Kattu’, I wanted to tell a story that explored human emotions in depth. Having Lord Ayyappa as the backdrop gives the film a unique identity, but this is not a story that revolves around devotion alone.

“At its core, the film is about the relationship between a father and his daughter, the emotions that emerge from that relationship, the mistakes they make and the transformation that follows. The traditions surrounding Lord Ayyappa and his pilgrimage have been familiar to me since childhood. Bringing that spiritual backdrop into the story gave the emotions another layer.

“In this film, faith is not something that exists separately from life. It is a part of the characters’ lives and becomes an important force behind the protagonist’s transformation.”

Talking about his experience of working with Ravi Teja, the director added, “Working with Ravi Teja sir has been a wonderful experience. I wanted audiences to see him in a story and character they had never seen him in before. At the same time, his natural energy and charisma are very much present in the film.

“His character goes through several emotional phases, and he has performed every layer of the character with complete dedication. I believe this film will introduce Ravi Teja to audiences from a completely different perspective.”

Priya Bhavani Shankar, Baby Nakshatra and Sai Kumar are among the prominent actors who play key roles in the film. According to the director, every relationship in the story has been given importance, with the emotions designed to emerge naturally rather than merely serving as a device to move the narrative forward.

The technical crew features several acclaimed names. Vishnu Sharma has handled the cinematography, while Praveen Pudi is the editor. G.V. Prakash Kumar has composed the music, with Sahi Suresh serving as the production designer and Naresh Babu P. as the screenplay coordinator.
