Tenkasi: Celebrating the spirit of Diwali through compassion and community service, actor Vijay Sethupathi supported a special welfare initiative in Aykudi, Tenkasi district, bringing festive joy to underprivileged senior citizens and children while extending essential healthcare services to the public.

The Diwali Welfare Celebration and Medical Camp was held on November 1, 2026, at the Senai Thalaivar Community Welfare Hall in Aykudi. As part of the initiative, 200 senior citizens and children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds received new clothes and welfare assistance. A free medical camp was also organised for residents of Aykudi and neighbouring areas.

The programme was organised by Thuli Trust and jointly spearheaded by actor Vijay Sethupathi, Ajithkumar Ravindran, Sivaji Prabhakar and Jai Bala.

200 Senior Citizens and Children Receive Diwali Gifts

With the aim of ensuring that the joy of Diwali reaches everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances, new clothes and welfare assistance were distributed to 200 beneficiaries, including senior citizens and children.

The initiative was designed to help those from economically weaker sections celebrate the festival with happiness and dignity. The event highlighted the importance of sharing, compassion and social responsibility, making the festive occasion more meaningful for the beneficiaries.

Free Medical Services for the Public

A major highlight of the event was the free medical camp, which witnessed participation from a large number of residents of Aykudi and surrounding villages.

Various healthcare services were provided, including basic health check-ups, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, electrocardiogram (ECG) examinations, general medical consultations, dietary guidance and health awareness services.

The camp aimed to encourage people to monitor their health regularly and understand the importance of early detection and prevention of diseases.

A Collective Initiative Towards Social Welfare

The event was organised in association with Vijay Sethupathi Narpani Mandram, Vallalar Employment Service Movement (VVVSI Trust), Nursing Station Health Care Private Limited and Tamil Mann Trust.

By combining festive assistance for 200 senior citizens and children with healthcare services for the wider community, the initiative demonstrated how collective efforts by individuals and organisations can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
