திரையுலக நடனக் கலைஞர்களுக்கு புதிய அங்கீகாரம்… ஒரே மேடையில் 125 நடன இயக்குநர்கள், 38 நடனப் பள்ளி ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு கௌரவம்!

தமிழ்த் திரையுலகில் பல தலைமுறைகளாக நடனத்தின் மூலம் எண்ணற்ற பாடல்களுக்கு உயிரூட்டிய நடன இயக்குநர்களையும், தமிழகம் முழுவதும் அடுத்த தலைமுறை நடனக் கலைஞர்களை உருவாக்கி வரும் நடனப் பள்ளி ஆசிரியர்களையும் ஒரே மேடையில் கௌரவித்த அரிய நிகழ்வாக ‘டான்ஸ் டான் 2’ சென்னை வேல்ஸ் கலையரங்கில் பிரம்மாண்டமாக நடைபெற்றது.

முன்னணி நடன இயக்குநர் கலைமாமணி ஸ்ரீதர் மற்றும் அவரது மகள் அக்ஷதா ஸ்ரீதர் தலைமையில் செயல்பட்டு வரும் ஸ்ரீதர் ஏஆர்எஸ் டான்ஸ் அகாடமி சார்பில் ஜூலை 25-ஆம் தேதி நடைபெற்ற இந்த நிகழ்வு, ஒரு சாதாரண நடன விழாவாக இல்லாமல், தமிழ்த் திரையுலகின் நடன வரலாற்றைப் பதிவு செய்த நினைவுச்சின்னமாக அமைந்தது.

இந்த விழாவின் மிகப்பெரிய சிறப்பம்சமாக, 1973 முதல் 2026 வரை தமிழ்த் திரைப்படங்களில் பங்களித்த 125 நடன இயக்குநர்கள் ஒரே மேடையில் கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டனர். அதேபோல், தமிழகத்தின் அனைத்து மாவட்டங்களையும் பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்தும் 38 நடனப் பள்ளி ஆசிரியர்களும் பாராட்டப்பட்டு சிறப்பு விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

திரைத்துறையில் பல தசாப்தங்களாக உழைத்தும் போதிய அங்கீகாரம் பெறாமல் இருந்த பல மூத்த நடன இயக்குநர்கள் இந்த நிகழ்வின் மூலம் மீண்டும் வெளிச்சத்திற்கு கொண்டு வரப்பட்டனர். அவர்களில் முன்னாள் முதல்வர்கள் புரட்சித்தலைவர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். மற்றும் புரட்சித்தலைவி ஜெயலலிதா நடித்த திரைப்படங்களிலும் பணியாற்றிய கலைஞர்களும் இடம்பெற்றிருந்தது நிகழ்வின் பெருமையை மேலும் உயர்த்தியது.

இதுகுறித்து பேசிய கலைமாமணி ஸ்ரீதர், “நமக்கு முன்பும், நம்முடன் இணைந்தும், நமக்குப் பிறகும் பணியாற்றிய அனைத்து நடன இயக்குநர்களின் பங்களிப்பையும் பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தில் பல ஆண்டுகளாக தகவல்களை சேகரித்தேன். அந்த ஆய்வின் முடிவில் 1973 முதல் 2026 வரை 125 நடன இயக்குநர்கள் தமிழ்த் திரையுலகில் பணியாற்றியிருப்பது உறுதியானது. அவர்களை ஒரே மேடையில் கௌரவிக்க முடிந்தது என் வாழ்க்கையின் மறக்க முடியாத தருணமாகும்,” என்றார்.

மேலும் அவர் கூறுகையில், “இந்த 125 பேரில் நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் தற்போது போதிய பட வாய்ப்புகள் இல்லாமல் இருக்கின்றனர். அதேபோல், பல சவால்களை எதிர்கொண்டும் நடனப் பள்ளிகளை நடத்தி வரும் ஆசிரியர்களும் உரிய அங்கீகாரத்திற்காக காத்திருக்கின்றனர். இந்த நிகழ்வு அவர்களுக்கு புதிய வாய்ப்புகளையும், சமூக அங்கீகாரத்தையும் ஏற்படுத்தும் ஒரு தொடக்கமாக அமைய வேண்டும் என்பதே எங்களின் நோக்கம்,” என்று தெரிவித்தார்.

விழாவில் ஸ்ரீதர் ஏஆர்எஸ் டான்ஸ் அகாடமி மாணவர்களின் வண்ணமயமான, உற்சாகமான மற்றும் தொழில்முறை தரத்தில் அமைந்த நடன நிகழ்ச்சிகள் பார்வையாளர்களை வெகுவாகக் கவர்ந்தன. ஒவ்வொரு நிகழ்ச்சிக்கும் அரங்கமே கரகோஷத்தில் அதிர்ந்தது.

கலைஞர்களின் அர்ப்பணிப்பையும், குருக்களின் பங்களிப்பையும், தமிழ்த் திரையுலகின் நடன மரபையும் ஒருங்கிணைத்து கொண்டாடிய ‘டான்ஸ் டான் 2’, நடன உலகில் நீண்ட காலம் நினைவுகூரப்படும் முக்கிய நிகழ்வாக அமைந்தது.

Dance Don 2 Celebrates Tamil Cinema’s Dance Legacy; 125 Choreographers and 38 Dance Teachers Honoured in Chennai

Chennai, July 29:

In a landmark celebration dedicated to the unsung heroes of dance, Kalaimamani Sridhar ARS Dance Academy hosted the grand ‘Dance Don 2’ event at Vels Kalaiarangam, Chennai, bringing together generations of dance professionals on a single stage.

Led by renowned choreographer Kalaimamani Sridhar and his daughter Akshadha Sridhar, the academy organised the event not merely as a dance showcase but as a heartfelt tribute to the artists and educators who have played a vital role in shaping Tamil Nadu’s dance culture.

The highlight of the event was the felicitation of 125 choreographers who have contributed to the Tamil film industry between 1973 and 2026. In a rare and historic gesture, the academy also honoured 38 dance school teachers, representing every district of Tamil Nadu, for their dedication to nurturing future generations of dancers.

Several of the honoured choreographers have worked in films starring former Tamil Nadu Chief Ministers M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) and J. Jayalalithaa, making the occasion even more significant as it celebrated decades of cinematic dance excellence.

Addressing the gathering, Sridhar Master said that the initiative was born out of a desire to document and recognise every choreographer who came before, alongside, and after his generation. After years of research and collecting records, he discovered that 125 choreographers had contributed to Tamil cinema over the past five decades.

“It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction to bring these choreographers together on one stage and honour them along with 38 dance school teachers from across Tamil Nadu,” he said.

He further noted that more than 100 of the 125 honoured choreographers currently have limited work opportunities despite their immense contributions to cinema. Likewise, many dance teachers continue to run their institutions despite numerous challenges.

“If this initiative opens new doors for choreographers and brings greater recognition and encouragement to dance school teachers, that alone will make this event a true success,” Sridhar added.

The evening also featured energetic and visually stunning performances by the students of Kalaimamani Sridhar ARS Dance Academy, whose performances received an overwhelming response from the audience.

More than just a cultural programme, Dance Don 2 emerged as a meaningful celebration of Tamil cinema’s rich dance heritage, recognising the pioneers, veterans, and teachers whose passion and dedication continue to inspire future generations of performers.
