தமிழ் சினிமாவில் புதுமையான கதைக்களத்துடன் உருவாகி வரும் ரொமான்டிக் என்டர்டெய்னர் திரைப்படமான ‘லைட் வெயிட் பேபி’ (Light Weight Baby), தனது 45 நாள் படப்பிடிப்பை வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவு செய்து, தற்போது இறுதிக்கட்ட தொழில்நுட்பப் பணிகளில் முழுவீச்சில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளது. ஆகஸ்ட் மாதத்தின் இரண்டாவது வாரத்தில் படத்தின் ஃபர்ஸ்ட் லுக் வெளியாகவுள்ளதாக படக்குழு அறிவித்துள்ளது.
ஸ்டாண்ட்-அப் காமெடியனாகவும், ‘பிக்பாஸ்’ நிகழ்ச்சியின் மூலம் ரசிகர்களிடையே பிரபலமான ‘விக்கல்ஸ்’ விக்ரம் கதாநாயகனாக அறிமுகமாகும் இப்படத்தில், உடற்பயிற்சி மற்றும் பாடி பில்டிங் துறையில் தனக்கென ஒரு அடையாளத்தை உருவாக்கியுள்ள ஆரத்தி கிருஷ்ணா கதாநாயகியாக அறிமுகமாகிறார். வெவ்வேறு துறைகளில் சாதனை படைத்த இருவரும் முதன்முறையாக இணைந்திருப்பது படத்தின் மீதான எதிர்பார்ப்பை அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
சென்னை, பெங்களூரு மற்றும் மைசூரு ஆகிய நகரங்களில் நான்கு கட்டங்களாக நடைபெற்ற 45 நாள் படப்பிடிப்பு எந்த தடங்கலும் இல்லாமல் வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவடைந்துள்ளது. தற்போது படத்தொகுப்பு, பின்னணி இசை, ஒலிப்பதிவு உள்ளிட்ட போஸ்ட் புரொடக்ஷன் பணிகள் தீவிரமாக நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன.
உடற்பயிற்சி மற்றும் போட்டி நிறைந்த ஃபிட்னஸ் உலகத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டு உருவாகும் இப்படம், வெறும் காதல் கதையாக இல்லாமல், குடும்ப உறவுகள், கனவுகள், வாழ்க்கை இலக்குகள், எதிர்பார்ப்புகள் மற்றும் மனித உணர்வுகளின் மோதல்களை சுவாரஸ்யமான திரைக்கதையுடன் இணைத்து சொல்லவுள்ளது. நகைச்சுவை, காதல், உணர்ச்சி மற்றும் போட்டி மனப்பான்மை ஆகிய அனைத்தும் சமநிலையுடன் இடம்பெறும் முழுமையான பொழுதுபோக்கு திரைப்படமாக இது உருவாகி வருவதாக படக்குழு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
இப்படத்தை கே.சி. குரு எழுதி இயக்கியுள்ளார். தயாரிப்பை ஹிதா ஸ்டுடியோஸ் நிறுவனம் மேற்கொண்டுள்ள நிலையில், சாகரா சந்தேஷ் இணைத் தயாரிப்பாளராக பணியாற்றியுள்ளார். ஒளிப்பதிவை பிரமோத் கொட்டியன், இசையை சரவணன் சுப்பிரமணியம், படத்தொகுப்பை ஹரிஷ் கொம்மே கவனித்துள்ளனர். படத்தின் வசனங்களை கதாநாயகனாக நடித்துள்ள ‘விக்கல்ஸ்’ விக்ரமே எழுதியிருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்க அம்சமாகும்.
படத்தின் உருவாக்கம் குறித்து இயக்குநர் கே.சி. குரு கூறுகையில், “இந்த 45 நாள் பயணம் எங்களுக்கு மறக்க முடியாத அனுபவமாக அமைந்தது. ஒவ்வொரு நகரமும், ஒவ்வொரு படப்பிடிப்பு கட்டமும் படத்தின் தரத்தை மேலும் உயர்த்தியது. இரண்டு முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்ட உலகங்களைச் சேர்ந்த மனிதர்களின் வாழ்க்கையை மையமாக வைத்து தொடங்கிய இந்த முயற்சி, இன்று நாங்கள் பெருமையுடன் கொண்டாடும் ஒரு திரைப்படமாக உருவெடுத்துள்ளது. படப்பிடிப்பு முடிந்தாலும், இன்னும் முக்கியமான தொழில்நுட்பக் கட்டம் தற்போது தொடங்கியுள்ளது. இந்தக் கதாபாத்திரங்களை ரசிகர்களிடம் அறிமுகப்படுத்த ஆவலுடன் காத்திருக்கிறோம்,” என்றார்.

‘Light Weight Baby’ Wraps Up 45-Day Shoot; First Look to Be Unveiled in August

The upcoming Tamil romantic entertainer ‘Light Weight Baby’ has successfully completed its 45-day shooting schedule and has now entered the post-production phase. The film stars stand-up comedian ‘Vikkals’ Vikram in his debut as a lead actor alongside fitness specialist Aarthi Krishna, who is also making her acting debut in a prominent role.
The film was shot over four schedules across Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mysuru, with the entire principal photography now wrapped up. The makers are currently focused on post-production work, including editing, background score, and sound design.
Set against the competitive world of fitness, ‘Light Weight Baby’ is more than just a romantic entertainer. The story explores love, family relationships, personal ambitions, emotional conflicts, and the challenges of balancing dreams with expectations. Blending humour, heartfelt emotions, romance, and sports-like competition, the film promises a wholesome cinematic experience.
Popular for his stand-up comedy performances and his appearance on the reality show Bigg Boss, ‘Vikkals’ Vikram makes his debut as a leading man with this film. In addition to acting, he has also penned the film’s dialogues. Joining him is Aarthi Krishna, a well-known name in the fitness and bodybuilding community, who marks her acting debut with the project. Their unique pairing has already generated considerable curiosity among audiences ever since the title announcement.
Written and directed by K.C. Guru, the film is produced by Hitha Studios, with Sagara Sandesh serving as the co-producer. The technical team includes cinematographer Pramod Kotian, music composer Saravanan Subramaniam, editor Harish Komme, while the dialogues have been written by Vikkals Vikram.
