டூரிஸ்ட் ஃபேமிலியின் வெற்றிப் பயணத்தில் மேலும் ஒரு மைல்கல் – SIIMA-வில் 6 விருதுகள்

Tourist Family Adds Another Milestone to Its Journey With 6 SIIMA Awards

A film winning the love of audiences is one achievement. When the work of its director, actors, musicians and other artistes is recognised individually, it makes the success even more special. For the team of Tourist Family, there is now another reason to celebrate.

Starring Sasikumar and Simran and directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth, Tourist Family revolves around the lives of Eelam Tamil refugees seeking refuge in Tamil Nadu. Despite dealing with a serious social backdrop, the film chose to tell its story through humour, family emotions and human values, making it accessible to a wider audience.

Following its positive theatrical reception, the film has now added another achievement to its journey at the 2026 SIIMA Awards, winning six awards across various categories.

The film received the Critics’ Choice Best Film award, while its director, lead actors, comedian and music contribution were also recognised.

Abishan Jeevinth Wins Best Debut Director

For Abishan Jeevinth, the SIIMA recognition marks a significant achievement with his very first film. His ability to bring a socially relevant backdrop into an engaging family entertainer has been one of the notable aspects of Tourist Family.

Sasikumar and Simran Honoured for Their Performances

Sasikumar won the Best Actor award for his performance as a family man navigating challenging circumstances. Simran was also recognised with the Best Actress award for her role in the film.

The film’s comic elements also received recognition, with Yogi Babu winning the Best Comedian award.

Adding to the film’s musical achievements, Vijay Yesudas won the Best Playback Singer – Male award for his song in the film.

With awards recognising the film, direction, acting, comedy and music, Tourist Family has secured six honours at SIIMA, making it a memorable occasion for the entire team.

The film has music by Sean Roldan, cinematography by Aravind Viswanathan and editing by Bharath Vikraman. Alongside Sasikumar, Simran and Yogi Babu, the cast includes Mithun Jai Shankar, Kamalesh, M. S. Bhaskar and Ramesh Thilak, among others.
