வில்லுப்பாட்டிலிருந்து வெள்ளித்திரைக்கு… ‘வேட்ட சாமி’ மூலம் பாடகியாகும் மாதவியின் புதிய பயணம்!

நாட்டுப்புறக் கலைக்கு உயிர் கொடுத்து வரும் வில்லுப்பாட்டு கலைஞர் மாதவி, தற்போது தனது கலைப்பயணத்தில் புதிய அத்தியாயத்தை தொடங்கியுள்ளார். பல ஆண்டுகளாக வில்லுப்பாட்டு நிகழ்ச்சிகள் மூலம் மக்களின் அன்பையும் பாராட்டையும் பெற்ற அவர், தற்போது ‘வேட்ட சாமி’ திரைப்படத்தின் மூலம் சினிமா பின்னணிப் பாடகியாக அறிமுகமாகிறார்.
தென் தமிழகத்தில் எந்த கோவில் திருவிழா அல்லது பொதுநிகழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தாலும், “மாதவியின் வில்லுப்பாட்டு” என்றாலே ஆயிரக்கணக்கான ரசிகர்கள் கூடுவது வழக்கம். நாட்டுப்புற இசையையும் பாரம்பரியக் கலையையும் இளம் தலைமுறையினரிடம் கொண்டு சேர்க்கும் பணியில் தொடர்ந்து ஈடுபட்டு வரும் மாதவி, தனது தனித்துவமான குரலால் சமூக வலைதளங்களிலும் தனி ரசிகர் வட்டத்தை உருவாக்கியுள்ளார்.
இந்த நிலையில், இசையமைப்பாளர் ஜிப்ரான் இசையில் உருவாகியுள்ள “சுடலைமாடன் வேட்டைப்பாடல்” என்ற பாடலை ‘வேட்ட சாமி’ திரைப்படத்திற்காக மாதவி பாடியுள்ளார். இந்தப் பாடலின் ஒலிப்பதிவு அண்மையில் நிறைவடைந்துள்ளது. இதுகுறித்த மகிழ்ச்சியான தகவலை ஜிப்ரான் தனது சமூக வலைதளப் பக்கங்களில் பகிர்ந்து, மாதவிக்கு வாழ்த்துகளையும் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
7 Miles Per Seconds Productions நிறுவனம் சார்பில் சாமுவேல் மேத்யூ தயாரித்துள்ள இந்தப் படத்தில் அருள்நிதி மற்றும் அமீர் முதன்மைக் கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடித்துள்ளனர். இவர்களுடன் இயக்குநர் தமிழ், விஜி சந்திரசேகர், ஆடுகளம் நரேன், அர்ஜெய், OAK சுந்தர், மதுசூதனன், மைனா நந்தினி, கவிதா பாரதி, நந்தினி உள்ளிட்ட பலர் முக்கிய வேடங்களில் நடித்துள்ளனர்.
‘பம்பர்’ திரைப்படத்தை இயக்கிய எம். செல்வகுமார் இயக்கத்தில் உருவாகியுள்ள ‘வேட்ட சாமி’, வீரத்தையும் தெய்வ நம்பிக்கையையும் மையமாகக் கொண்ட கதையாக உருவாகியுள்ளது. ஆர்.டி. ராஜசேகர் ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்துள்ள இப்படத்திற்கு ரூபன் படத்தொகுப்பு மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறார். சண்டைக் காட்சிகளை சிறுத்தை கணேஷ் அமைத்துள்ளார்.
படப்பிடிப்பு நிறைவடைந்து தற்போது இறுதிக்கட்ட போஸ்ட் புரொடக்ஷன் பணிகள் நடைபெற்று வரும் நிலையில், வில்லுப்பாட்டு மேடைகளில் ஒலித்த மாதவியின் குரல் இனி வெள்ளித்திரையிலும் ரசிகர்களை கவரும் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பு அதிகரித்துள்ளது. ‘வேட்ட சாமி’ திரைப்படம், மாதவியின் கலைப்பயணத்தில் முக்கியமான திருப்புமுனையாக அமையும் என திரையுலக வட்டாரங்கள் கருதுகின்றன.
Villupaattu Artist Madhavi Makes Her Playback Singing Debut With Vetta Saami
Renowned Villupaattu artist Madhavi, celebrated for preserving and popularising Tamil Nadu’s rich folk tradition, is all set to begin a new chapter in her artistic journey. The acclaimed folk performer will make her playback singing debut in cinema with the upcoming film Vetta Saami.
A familiar face at temple festivals and cultural events across southern Tamil Nadu, Madhavi has earned immense popularity through her powerful performances and distinctive voice. Her Villupaattu concerts consistently attract large audiences, while her efforts to introduce traditional folk music to younger generations have won her widespread appreciation and several accolades. She also enjoys a strong fan following on social media.
Taking her talent from the folk stage to the silver screen, Madhavi has lent her voice to the song “Sudalaimadan Vettaipaadal”, composed by Ghibran, for Vetta Saami. The recording of the song was recently completed, and Ghibran shared the exciting update on his social media platforms, expressing his happiness over Madhavi’s debut as a playback singer.
Produced by Samuel Mathew under the banner of 7 Miles Per Seconds Productions, Vetta Saami stars Arulnithi and Ameer in the lead roles. The film also features director Tamizh, Viji Chandrasekhar, Aadukalam Naren, Arjai, OAK Sundar, Madhusudhanan, Myna Nandhini, Kavitha Bharathi, and Nandhini in pivotal roles.
Directed by M. Selvakumar, who previously helmed Bumper, the film is built around themes of courage, faith, and the cultural identity of the land. Cinematography is by R. D. Rajasekhar, editing is handled by Ruben, and the action sequences are choreographed by Siruthai Ganesh.
With filming completed and post-production progressing steadily, Vetta Saami marks a significant milestone in Madhavi’s career.
