The Sapta Sagaradaache Ello and Kantara: Chapter 1 actress will play Thara in the upcoming untitled film, which also stars Dev Ramnath and Vinayak Vaithianathan.

Actress Rukmini Vasanth, who won audience attention with her performances in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello and Kantara: Chapter 1, has joined hands with Kanam director Shree Karthick for his next Tamil film. The untitled project marks the first collaboration between the actress and the filmmaker. Dev Ramnath and Vinayak Vaithianathan will also play key roles in the film, which is jointly produced by Madboys Entertainment and Siruni Cine Corporation, with Saikrishna Gadwal serving as co-producer.

Rukmini Vasanth Introduced as Thara

While the makers have yet to reveal the film’s title, they have unveiled Rukmini Vasanth’s character, Thara, through a specially crafted announcement video.

The video features Shree Karthick, Dev Ramnath and Vinayak Vaithianathan trying to finalise their choice for the character of Thara. An unexpected notification interrupts their discussion, leaving them surprised. The video concludes with Rukmini Vasanth’s introduction, offering audiences their first glimpse of the character and building curiosity around the film.

Madboys Entertainment Takes an Unconventional Approach

In a departure from conventional film announcements, Madboys Entertainment has created an Instagram-exclusive fictionalised docu-drama series inspired by the challenges, experiences and ups and downs the company has faced over the past 18 months.

Spanning nine episodes so far, the series combines real-life experiences with dramatised storytelling, culminating in the reveal of Rukmini Vasanth as Thara. The innovative campaign reflects the production house’s creative approach to storytelling and offers a distinctive way of introducing the film and its cast to audiences.

Shree Karthick Returns After Kanam

Shree Karthick previously garnered attention with Kanam, which combined the imaginative concept of time travel with the emotional depth of a mother-son relationship. With his upcoming project, the director brings together a fresh combination of talent, marking his first collaboration with Rukmini Vasanth.

Founded by Dev Ramnath and Shree Karthick, Madboys Entertainment is a creator-led content studio known for its original storytelling. The company’s notable projects include the popular Tamil web series I Hate You – I Love You and the award-winning short film Childhood Diaries. With this new venture, the studio is expanding its presence in feature filmmaking, continuing its focus on fresh ideas and unconventional storytelling.

A Production Team with Notable Credentials

The film brings together Madboys Entertainment, Siruni Cine Corporation and co-producer Saikrishna Gadwal.

Associated with producer Jaswanth, Siruni Cine Corporation previously backed Chi La Sow, directed by Rahul Ravindran. The film received the National Film Award for Best Original Screenplay. Saikrishna Gadwal, who has been associated with films such as Keedaa Cola and Kaantha, is also part of the production team.

With Rukmini Vasanth’s casting now officially revealed and the title announcement expected soon, the untitled Tamil film has already generated interest through its distinctive promotional campaign and fresh creative collaboration.
