Actor Kottachi Turns Director with ‘Maayak Kaalan’, Also Playing the Lead Role

Suspense thriller currently being shot in Kumily at the scenic locations of ‘Kumki’ and ‘Mynaa’

Actor Kottachi, who has established a presence in Tamil cinema through comedy and character roles, is now taking on a new challenge in his career. He is making his directorial debut with ‘Maayak Kaalan’, in which he also plays the lead role.

The film marks the first production venture of Suresh G. Muthukumar of Rajeswari Pictures, who has been associated with the film industry as a financier for several movies. With ‘Maayak Kaalan’, he is stepping into film production for the first time.

Directed by Kottachi and featuring him in the lead, the film is being made as a suspense thriller. The shooting is currently progressing at a brisk pace in Kumily, with the picturesque surroundings adding to the mood and atmosphere of the story.

Interestingly, the film is being shot at locations where popular Tamil films such as ‘Kumki’ and ‘Mynaa’ were previously filmed. The lush natural landscapes and distinctive terrain of Kumily are being effectively incorporated into the film to enhance its suspenseful and thrilling elements.
