தமிழ் சினிமாவில் வழக்கமான ஆடியோ அல்லது டிரெய்லர் வெளியீட்டு விழாக்களிலிருந்து முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்ட அனுபவத்தை வழங்கும் வகையில், நடிகர் ஆர். மாதவன் நடித்துள்ள ‘ஜி.டி.என்’ திரைப்படத்தின் டிரெய்லர் கோவையில் உள்ள கரி மோட்டார் ஸ்பீட்வேயில் பிரம்மாண்டமாக வெளியிடப்பட்டது. இந்தியாவின் தலைசிறந்த கண்டுபிடிப்பாளர்களில் ஒருவரான கோபாலசாமி துரைசாமி நாயுடு (ஜி.டி. நாயுடு) அவர்களின் வாழ்க்கையை மையமாகக் கொண்டு உருவாகியுள்ள இந்த திரைப்படத்தின் டிரெய்லர் வெளியீடு, சினிமா நிகழ்ச்சியைத் தாண்டி தொழில்நுட்பம், வரலாறு மற்றும் ஆட்டோமொபைல் கலாச்சாரத்தின் கொண்டாட்டமாக மாறியது.

‘GTN’ Trailer Launch Held in Spectacular Style at Kari Motor Speedway; R. Madhavan Brings the Legacy of G.D. Naidu to Life

Coimbatore: Breaking away from the conventional format of film promotions, the trailer of ‘GTN’, starring R. Madhavan, was unveiled in grand fashion at the iconic Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. Inspired by the extraordinary life of India’s legendary inventor and industrial pioneer Gopalswamy Doraiswamy Naidu (G.D. Naidu), the event celebrated innovation, heritage, automobiles, and cinema in a truly unforgettable way.

The launch commenced with a spectacular parade of rare vintage cars from the G.D. Museum, carrying the film’s producers, director, cast, and crew. The procession paid tribute to G.D. Naidu’s remarkable contributions to India’s automobile industry while symbolically connecting his pioneering vision with modern automotive excellence. Luxury supercars were also showcased, creating a striking contrast between the engineering marvels of the past and today’s technological advancements.

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was R. Madhavan taking leading journalists on a thrilling lap around the Kari Motor Speedway in a high-performance supercar that reached speeds of nearly 190 km/h. The adrenaline-filled 15-minute experience reflected G.D. Naidu’s passion for automobiles, engineering, and innovation.

As the sun set over the racetrack, the nearly three-minute trailer of ‘GTN’ was screened amid thunderous applause from the audience. The visually rich trailer captivated viewers with its meticulous recreation of the era and grand cinematic scale, offering a glimpse into the inspiring journey of G.D. Naidu—widely celebrated as the “Edison of India.”

The trailer showcases G.D. Naidu’s relentless pursuit of innovation, patriotism, scientific vision, and extraordinary achievements. R. Madhavan’s remarkable transformation into the iconic inventor has already drawn widespread appreciation. The presence of historical figures, including Periyar E.V. Ramasamy and Adolf Hitler, further hints at the expansive historical canvas explored in the film, adding to audience curiosity.

Speaking at the event, R. Madhavan said, “G.D. Naidu was not just an inventor. He was a visionary, an extraordinary achiever, and above all, a true patriot. His contributions span multiple fields, yet only a small part of his legacy is widely known. His story deserves to be celebrated not just in Tamil Nadu but across India, and that inspired us to make this film.”

Actress Dushara Vijayan shared, “I had visited the G.D. Museum during my school days. I never imagined that one day I would portray G.D. Naidu’s wife on screen. This film introduces not only the genius behind the inventions but also the compassionate human being behind the legend.”

Director Krishnakumar Ramakumar revealed, “The journey of this film began when I picked up a book on G.D. Naidu at a book fair. The untold chapters of his life deeply moved me, and I felt his incredible story deserved to be brought to the big screen.”

The event was attended by producer Varghese Moolan, former ISRO scientist Dr. Nambi Narayanan, G.D. Rajkumar, G.D. Gopal (son of the late G.D. Naidu), several distinguished personalities from the film industry, and members of the media.

The film features an impressive ensemble cast including R. Madhavan, Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, Vinay Rai, Thambi Ramaiah, Nandhalal, DJ Arunachalam, Sheela, Karunakaran, Aditi Balan, Mohan Raman, Kanika, Ramesh Thilak, Karl Andrew Hardee, and Richard Bhakti Klein, among others.

‘GTN’ is written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and produced by Varghese Moolan, Vijay Moolan, Sarita Madhavan, and R. Madhavan under the banners of Varghese Moolan Pictures and Tricolour Films. The screenplay has been co-written by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and R. Madhavan. Aravind Kamalanathan serves as Director of Photography and Creative Producer, while Govind Vasantha has composed the film’s music.
