தமிழ் சினிமாவில் வழக்கமான கமர்ஷியல் கதைகளுக்கு மத்தியில், வித்தியாசமான கதைக்களத்துடனும் பரபரப்பான திரைக்கதையுடனும் உருவாகியுள்ள புதிய உளவியல் திரில்லர் திரைப்படம் ‘கிட்டி’. ரியா ஸ்ரீ கிரியேஷன்ஸ் பிரைவேட் லிமிடெட் சார்பில் தயாரிப்பாளர் திருமாறன் தயாரித்துள்ள இப்படத்தை நெடுமாறன் மோகன்தாஸ் இயக்கியுள்ளார்.
‘முருகா’ அசோக் கதையின் நாயகனாக நடிக்கும் இப்படம், வரும் அக்டோபர் 2ஆம் தேதி காந்தி ஜெயந்தி தினத்தில் உலகம் முழுவதும் திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியாகிறது.
தமிழ் சினிமாவில் குற்றங்களை மையமாகக் கொண்ட திரில்லர் படங்களில், ஒரு சம்பவம் நிகழ்ந்த பிறகு அதை யார் செய்தார்கள் என்பதைக் கண்டுபிடிப்பதை மையமாகக் கொண்ட கதைகள் அதிகம் இடம்பெற்று வருகின்றன. ஆனால், அந்த வழக்கமான அணுகுமுறையிலிருந்து விலகி, ஒரு கதாநாயகனைச் சுற்றி நிகழும் சம்பவங்களையும், அவரது மனநிலையையும் மையமாக வைத்து வித்தியாசமான திரைக்கதை அமைப்பில் ‘கிட்டி’ உருவாகியுள்ளதாக படக்குழு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

‘Muruga’ Ashok plays the lead in Nedumaran Mohandas’ intriguing thriller
Tamil cinema is set to witness a new psychological thriller with a distinctive storyline and an engaging screenplay. Titled ‘Kitty’, the film is produced by Thirumaran under the banner of Riya Sri Creations Private Limited and directed by Nedumaran Mohandas. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.
Starring ‘Muruga’ Ashok in the lead, ‘Kitty’ promises to offer a different experience for audiences who enjoy suspense-driven narratives and unconventional storytelling.
While crime thrillers in Tamil cinema have traditionally revolved around investigating a crime and identifying the person responsible, ‘Kitty’ takes a different route. The screenplay is said to revolve around the protagonist and his psychological state, creating a narrative that gradually unfolds through the characters and situations surrounding him.
The film’s screenplay is designed to keep audiences engaged throughout, with several twists and turns expected to add to the suspense. Director Nedumaran Mohandas has also reportedly paid close attention to developing each character, ensuring that every role has significance within the narrative.
One of the major highlights of the film is ‘Muruga’ Ashok’s character. The actor plays a mentally challenged character, a role that is said to be significantly different from his earlier performances. The film features Nisha, Sangavi and Simu Advani as the three female leads opposite Ashok. Director of the acclaimed film ‘Oomai Vizhigal’ R. Aravindraj appears in a pivotal role that is said to bring a major turning point to the story.
Veteran actor Y.G. Mahendran makes a special appearance, while producer Thirumaran also plays a police investigation officer in the film.
The makers have reportedly taken special care in casting the film, selecting actors based on the requirements of each character. The performances and interactions between these characters are expected to play a crucial role in taking the story forward.
The shooting of ‘Kitty’ has been completed across various locations, including Kumbakonam, Cuddalore, Tharangambadi and Chennai and its surrounding areas.
