படப்பிடிப்பு நிறுத்தம் வேண்டாம்… தொழிலாளர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தை காக்க வேண்டும் – FEFSI வலியுறுத்தல்

தமிழ்த் திரையுலகில் தற்போது முக்கியமான விவாதமாக மாறியிருக்கும் படப்பிடிப்பு தொடர்பான பிரச்சினைக்கு உடனடி தீர்வு காண வேண்டும் என்று தென்னிந்திய திரைப்படத் தொழிலாளர்கள் சம்மேளனம் (FEFSI) வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளது.

தமிழ்நாடு அரசுக்கும், தமிழ் திரைப்படத் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சங்க நிர்வாகிகளுக்கும், இயக்குநர் இமயம் பாரதிராஜா தலைமையில் நேரில் சந்தித்து கோரிக்கை விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக FEFSI தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

சமீபத்தில் செப்டம்பர் 1-ம் தேதி முதல் திரைப்படப் படப்பிடிப்புகள் தொடர்பான அனைத்து பணிகளும் நிறுத்தப்படும் என்ற அறிவிப்பு வெளியாகியிருந்தது. இந்த முடிவு திரையுலகில் நேரடியாகப் பணியாற்றும் தொழிலாளர்களை மட்டுமல்லாமல், அவர்களைச் சார்ந்து வாழும் பல ஆயிரக்கணக்கான குடும்பங்களையும் பாதிக்கும் சூழல் உருவாகும் என்பதால், இதற்கு சுமுகமான தீர்வு காண வேண்டும் என்பதே FEFSI-யின் முக்கிய கோரிக்கையாக உள்ளது.

“படப்பிடிப்பு நின்றால் பாதிக்கப்படுவது தொழிலாளர்கள்தான்”

திரைப்படத் துறையில் ஒரு படம் உருவாகும் ஒவ்வொரு கட்டத்திலும் ஏராளமான தொழிலாளர்கள் பணியாற்றுகின்றனர். நடிகர்கள், இயக்குநர்கள் மட்டுமல்லாமல் ஒளிப்பதிவாளர்கள், உதவி இயக்குநர்கள், தொழில்நுட்பக் கலைஞர்கள், மேக்கப் கலைஞர்கள், ஆடைத் தொழிலாளர்கள், லைட்மேன்கள், செட் தொழிலாளர்கள், போக்குவரத்து பணியாளர்கள் என பல்வேறு பிரிவினர் திரைப்படத் தயாரிப்பை நம்பியே வாழ்ந்து வருகின்றனர்.

எனவே படப்பிடிப்புகள் நிறுத்தப்படுவது என்பது ஒரு திரைப்படத்தின் தயாரிப்பை மட்டும் பாதிக்கும் விஷயம் அல்ல. தினசரி வேலை கிடைப்பதை நம்பியிருக்கும் தொழிலாளர்களின் வருமானத்தையும் நேரடியாக பாதிக்கும் என்று FEFSI சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளது.

2018-ல் உருவான பிரச்சினைக்கும் பேச்சுவார்த்தையே தீர்வானது

இதுபோன்ற பிரச்சினை ஏற்கனவே 2018-ம் ஆண்டிலும் ஏற்பட்டதாக FEFSI தெரிவித்துள்ளது. அப்போது சுமார் 45 முதல் 50 நாட்கள் வரை படப்பிடிப்புகள் தொடர்பான பணிகள் நிறுத்தப்பட்டிருந்த நிலையில், திரைப்படத் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சங்கம், திரைப்படத் தொழிலாளர்கள் சங்கம் மற்றும் தொழிலாளர் அமைப்புகளுடன் அரசு முன்னிலையில் முத்தரப்பு பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தப்பட்டது.

அந்த பேச்சுவார்த்தையின் மூலம் பல முக்கிய முடிவுகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டதாகவும், அதன் அடிப்படையில் பிரச்சினை சுமுகமாக முடிவுக்கு வந்ததாகவும் FEFSI குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.

அதேபோல் தற்போதைய பிரச்சினைக்கும் பேச்சுவார்த்தை மூலம் நடைமுறை தீர்வு காணப்பட வேண்டும் என்பதே தொழிலாளர்கள் தரப்பின் எதிர்பார்ப்பாக உள்ளது.

“ஒருதலைப்பட்ச முடிவுகள் வேண்டாம்”

ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் பிரச்சினைகள் எழும்போது முதலில் படப்பிடிப்புகளை நிறுத்துவது, அதன் பின்னர் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்துவது போன்ற நடைமுறை நீண்ட காலத்திற்கு திரைப்படத் துறைக்கு சாதகமாக இருக்காது என்று FEFSI தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

ஒரு முடிவு எடுக்கப்பட்டாலும், அது நடைமுறையில் சாத்தியமா, அதன் தாக்கம் தொழிலாளர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தில் எப்படி இருக்கும் என்பதையும் கருத்தில் கொள்ள வேண்டும் என அந்த அமைப்பு வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளது.

கடந்த காலங்களில் நடைபெற்ற பேச்சுவார்த்தைகளில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட முடிவுகள் முழுமையாக நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்படாமல் இருப்பதாகவும் FEFSI தனது அதிருப்தியை வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

தயாரிப்பாளர்களின் சிரமங்களையும் புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும்

தயாரிப்பாளர்களின் கோரிக்கைகளை பாதுகாப்பதோடு, திரைப்படத் தொழிலாளர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தையும் பாதுகாக்க வேண்டியது அவசியம் என்று FEFSI தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

திரைப்படத் தொழிலில் ஏற்கனவே பல்வேறு சவால்கள் இருப்பதாகவும், தொழிலாளர்களின் நலன் பாதிக்கப்படாத வகையில் அனைத்து தரப்பினரும் இணைந்து தீர்வு காண வேண்டும் என்றும் அந்த அமைப்பு கேட்டுக்கொண்டுள்ளது.

தமிழ்நாடு அரசு, திரைப்படத் தயாரிப்பாளர் சங்கம், திரைப்படத் தொழிலாளர் சங்கம் மற்றும் தொழிலாளர் அமைப்புகளின் பிரதிநிதிகள் பங்கேற்கும் முத்தரப்பு பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தி, தற்போதைய பிரச்சினைக்கு நல்ல தீர்வு காண வேண்டும் என்பதே FEFSI-யின் கோரிக்கையாக உள்ளது.

“திரையுலகின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு தொழிலாளர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரமும் முக்கியம்”

திரைப்படத் துறை என்பது நடிகர்கள் மற்றும் தயாரிப்பாளர்களை மட்டும் சார்ந்தது அல்ல. திரைக்குப் பின்னால் பணியாற்றும் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான தொழிலாளர்களின் உழைப்பும் அதன் அடிப்படையில் உள்ளது.

அவர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரம் பாதுகாக்கப்படுவதோடு, தமிழ்த் திரையுலகின் எதிர்காலத்தையும் கருத்தில் கொண்டு தற்போதைய பிரச்சினைக்கு விரைவான, நடைமுறைக்கு ஏற்ற தீர்வு கிடைக்க வேண்டும் என்று FEFSI சார்பில் வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்த விவகாரத்தில் தமிழக அரசு தலையிட்டு, அனைத்து தரப்பினரையும் அழைத்து பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தி சுமுகமான முடிவை ஏற்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்று FEFSI தலைவர் ஆர்.கே. செல்வமணி, பொதுச்செயலாளர் பி.என். சுவாமிநாதன் மற்றும் பொருளாளர் எஸ்.பி. செந்தில்குமார் ஆகியோர் கேட்டுக்கொண்டுள்ளனர்.

Not Just a Shoot Halt… FEFSI Calls for Protection of Film Workers’ Livelihoods

The ongoing issue surrounding film shootings in the Tamil film industry has become a major point of discussion, with the Federation of Film Employees’ Federations of South India (FEFSI) urging all stakeholders to find an immediate and practical solution.

FEFSI has reportedly approached the Tamil Nadu Government and office-bearers of the Tamil Film Producers Council, led by veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja, seeking a resolution to the issue through discussions.

An announcement had recently been made that all film shooting-related activities would be halted from September 1. FEFSI has expressed concern that such a decision would not only affect film productions but also directly impact thousands of technicians and workers who depend on the industry for their daily livelihood.

“A Shooting Halt Will Ultimately Affect Film Workers”

The making of a film involves thousands of workers across different departments. Apart from actors and directors, cinematographers, assistant directors, technicians, makeup artists, costume workers, lighting technicians, set workers, transport personnel and several other professionals depend on continuous film production for their livelihood.

Therefore, a halt in shooting is not merely an issue affecting a particular film’s production. It has a direct impact on the income and livelihood of workers who depend on regular assignments, FEFSI has pointed out.

2018 Issue Was Resolved Through Discussions

FEFSI has also recalled that a similar issue arose in 2018, when film-related activities remained suspended for nearly 45 to 50 days.

At that time, a tripartite discussion was held in the presence of the government, involving representatives of the Tamil Film Producers Council, film workers’ unions and other labour organisations. Several important decisions were taken during those discussions, eventually bringing the issue to a peaceful conclusion.

FEFSI has now called for a similar dialogue to resolve the current situation instead of allowing the issue to escalate further.

“Unilateral Decisions Should Be Avoided”

FEFSI has maintained that repeatedly halting film shootings whenever an issue arises and only subsequently entering into negotiations may not be a sustainable solution for the film industry.

Any decision concerning the industry, the organisation stressed, should take into consideration its practical implementation and the impact it could have on the livelihood of film workers.

FEFSI has also expressed dissatisfaction over the fact that some decisions arrived at during previous negotiations have not been fully implemented.

Producers’ Concerns Must Also Be Addressed

FEFSI has stated that while the concerns of producers need to be protected, the livelihood and welfare of film workers must also be safeguarded.

With the film industry already facing several challenges, all stakeholders should come together and work towards a solution that does not adversely affect the workers, the federation said.

FEFSI has called for a tripartite meeting involving representatives of the Tamil Nadu Government, the film producers’ body, FEFSI and other labour organisations to find a practical and mutually acceptable solution to the present issue.

“The Industry’s Growth Depends on Its Workers Too”

The film industry does not function solely because of actors and producers. The hard work of thousands of technicians and workers behind the screen forms an equally important part of filmmaking.

FEFSI has therefore urged the authorities and industry stakeholders to find a speedy and practical solution to the issue while protecting the livelihood of film workers and keeping the long-term growth of the Tamil film industry in mind.

FEFSI President R.K. Selvamani, General Secretary P.N. Swaminathan and Treasurer S.P. Senthil Kumar have appealed to the Tamil Nadu Government to intervene and bring all stakeholders to the negotiating table to arrive at an amicable settlement.
