‘அம்பாசமுத்திரம் அம்பானி’, ‘திருநாள்’, ‘ஆதார்’ ஆகிய படங்களை இயக்கிய ராம்நாத் பழனிக்குமார், ‘திண்டுக்கல் சாரதி’ திரைப்படத்திற்குத் திரைக்கதை மற்றும் வசனம் எழுதியவர். இவரது இயக்கத்தில் உருவாகும் ‘சென்சார்’ திரைப்படம், கதையைத் திரையில் காண்பதற்கு முன்பே புத்தகத்தின் வாயிலாக வாசகர்களிடம் கொண்டு சேர்க்கும் புதிய முயற்சியை முன்னெடுத்துள்ளது.

Tamil Cinema to Witness a First: Director Ramnath Palanikumar’s ‘Censor’ to Release Its Complete Screenplay as a Book Before the Film Is Made!

A unique initiative to put the spotlight on storytelling and screenwriting even before the film reaches the big screen.

In a distinctive move in Tamil cinema, the complete official shooting screenplay of the upcoming film Censor, directed by Ramnath Palanikumar, is set to be published as a book even before the film is made.

Conventionally, screenplays are published as books after a film’s theatrical release, particularly when the film receives significant audience appreciation or critical acclaim. Breaking away from this established practice, the team behind Censor aims to bring the film’s complete screenplay to readers in book form before it takes shape on screen.

Director Ramnath Palanikumar, known for directing films such as Ambasamuthiram Ambani, Thirunaal and Aadhhaar, also penned the screenplay and dialogues for Dindigul Sarathy. With Censor, he is taking a different approach by allowing readers to explore the story in its original written form before experiencing it as a film.

This initiative is expected to mark a significant milestone in Tamil cinema, offering the public an opportunity to read the complete screenplay of a feature film before its release.
