சிதாரா என்டர்டெயின்மென்ட் மற்றும் ஃபார்ச்சூன் ஃபோர் சினிமாஸ் நிறுவனங்கள் இணைந்து தயாரிக்க, வெங்கி அட்லூரி இயக்கத்தில் சூர்யா நடிப்பில் உருவான ‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’ திரைப்படம் ஆகஸ்ட் 14ஆம் தேதி திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியானது. குடும்ப உறவுகள், பாசம், மனிதநேயம் ஆகியவற்றை மையமாகக் கொண்டு உருவான இப்படம் ரசிகர்களிடம் நல்ல வரவேற்பைப் பெற்று, வசூலிலும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க சாதனையைப் படைத்து வருகிறது.

படத்திற்கு கிடைத்த வரவேற்புக்கு நன்றி தெரிவிக்கும் வகையில் சென்னையில் நடைபெற்ற சிறப்பு நிகழ்ச்சியில் படக்குழுவினர் பங்கேற்று, ரசிகர்கள் மற்றும் ஊடகங்களுக்கு தங்களது நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்தனர். வழக்கமான வெற்றி விழா பேச்சுகளைக் கடந்து, படத்தின் உருவாக்கம், சூர்யாவின் கதாபாத்திரத் தேர்வு, வெங்கி அட்லூரியின் எழுத்து, ஜி.வி. பிரகாஷின் இசை என பல்வேறு அம்சங்கள் குறித்து படக்குழுவினர் மனம் திறந்து பேசினர்.

நிகழ்ச்சியில் பேசிய பாடலாசிரியர் பாலாஜி வேணுகோபால், ‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’ தனக்கு மிகவும் முக்கியமான படமாக அமைந்துள்ளதாக தெரிவித்தார்.

“கடந்த 23 ஆண்டுகளாக பேச்சுதான் என்னுடைய வாழ்க்கையாக இருந்திருக்கிறது. ஆர்ஜேவாக ஆயிரக்கணக்கான மேடை நிகழ்ச்சிகளை தொகுத்து வழங்கியிருக்கிறேன். திரைப்பட இயக்குநராகவும், இணையத் தொடரை இயக்கியதற்காகவும் மேடை ஏறியிருக்கிறேன். ஆனால் முதன்முறையாக பாடலாசிரியராக மேடை ஏறியிருப்பது இந்தப் படத்திற்காகத்தான். இது எனக்கு மிகவும் முக்கியமான தருணம்” என்றார்.

இந்தப் படத்தில் அருண் ராஜா காமராஜுடன் இணைந்து பாடல்களை எழுதியதாக தெரிவித்த அவர், ஜி.வி. பிரகாஷ் குமாருடனான தனது நீண்டகால நட்பையும் நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்.

“ஜி.வி. எனக்கு நண்பர் என்பதைவிட ஆசான். 2003ஆம் ஆண்டு ‘வெயில்’ படத்திற்காக அவர் இசையமைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது ‘உருகுதே மருகுதே’ பாடலைப் போட்டுக் காண்பித்து, இந்தப் பாடல் ரீச் ஆகுமா என்று என்னிடம் கேட்டார். இன்று அவர் எத்தகைய உயரத்தை அடைந்திருக்கிறார் என்பது அனைவருக்கும் தெரியும்” என்றார்.

மேலும், ‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’ படத்தை வெங்கியின் ‘ஆர்ட்’ என்று சொல்வதைவிட அவரது ‘ஹார்ட்’ என்று கூறுவதே பொருத்தமாக இருக்கும் எனக் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

“இந்தப் படத்தின் திரைக்கதையை நான் ஓராண்டுக்கு முன்பே வாசித்துவிட்டேன். வாசிக்கும் போதே பல இடங்களில் கண்கலங்கினேன். அந்த உணர்வுகளை அப்படியே திரையில் நேர்த்தியாகக் கடத்தியிருக்கிறார் வெங்கி. அவருக்கு மிகச் சிறந்த எதிர்காலம் இருக்கிறது” என்றார்.

சூர்யாவுடனான தனது பழைய சந்திப்பையும் அவர் நினைவுகூர்ந்தார். 2003ஆம் ஆண்டு ‘கஜினி’ படத்திற்காக சூர்யாவை நேர்காணல் செய்தபோது, ஐந்து நிமிடங்கள் தாமதமாக வந்ததற்காக சூர்யா மன்னிப்பு கேட்ட சம்பவத்தைப் பகிர்ந்த பாலாஜி வேணுகோபால், அந்த மனிதநேயப் பண்புதான் இன்றும் சூர்யாவுக்கு ஏராளமான ரசிகர்களை பெற்றுத் தருகிறது என்றார்.

“சூர்யாவுடன் நடிப்பதற்கு முன் பயம் இருந்தது; அவர் அதை போக்கிவிட்டார்”

நடிகை பவானி ஸ்ரீ, படத்தில் தனக்கு கிடைத்த சிறிய கதாபாத்திரமாக இருந்தாலும், அதனை இயக்குநர் அழகாக வடிவமைத்திருந்ததாக தெரிவித்தார்.

“மேக்னா என்ற கதாபாத்திரத்தை வழங்கியதற்காக இயக்குநருக்கு நன்றி. சிறிய வயதிலிருந்தே திரையில் பார்த்து வியந்த சூர்யாவுடன் இணைந்து நடிக்கிறோம் என்றபோது எனக்குள் பயம் இருந்தது. ஆனால் படப்பிடிப்பு தளத்திற்கு வந்தவுடன் அவர் இயல்பாகப் பேசினார். ‘மேக்னா நல்ல கதாபாத்திரம். சிறப்பாக நடிக்க வேண்டும்’ என்று ஊக்கமளித்தார். அதன் பிறகு எனக்குள் இருந்த பயம் நீங்கிவிட்டது” என்றார்.

 

ராதிகா சரத்குமார் மற்றும் மமீதா பைஜூவுடன் பணியாற்றிய அனுபவத்தையும் அவர் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டார்.

“அவர்கள் இருவரும் திரையில் தோன்றும் ஒவ்வொரு காட்சியும் முத்துக்கள் போல இருந்தது. ரவீனா மேடத்துடனும் பணியாற்றியது நல்ல அனுபவமாக இருந்தது. ஊட்டியில் நடைபெற்ற படப்பிடிப்பு நாட்கள் அனைத்தும் மறக்க முடியாதவை” என்றார்.

“சூர்யாவை ஒரு குடும்பஸ்தனாகக் காட்டியிருக்கிறார் வெங்கி”

நடிகை ராதிகா சரத்குமார் பேசும்போது, ‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’ வெற்றி என்பது ரசிகர்களையும் ஊடகங்களையும் பொறுமையாகக் கதை சொல்லும் சினிமா இன்னும் கவர முடியும் என்பதற்கான உதாரணம் எனக் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

“இந்தக் காலத்தில் பார்வையாளர்களின் கவனத்தை ஈர்த்து அதைத் தொடர்ந்து வைத்திருப்பது மிகவும் கடினம். ஆனால் அன்பையும் பாசத்தையும் மையமாக வைத்து, நிதானமாக ஒரு கதையைச் சொல்லி இந்தப் படம் வெற்றி பெற்றிருக்கிறது. இது பெருமையாக இருக்கிறது” என்றார்.

படத்தின் கதையை இயக்குநர் வெங்கி அட்லூரி தன்னிடம் விவரித்தபோது, “இந்தக் காட்சிகளில் எல்லாம் சூர்யா நடிக்க ஒப்புக்கொண்டாரா?” என்று தான் கேட்டதாகவும் ராதிகா தெரிவித்தார்.

மேலும், கதாநாயகி தேர்வு குறித்தும் அவர் சுவாரஸ்யமான தகவலை பகிர்ந்துகொண்டார். ‘டியூட்’ படப்பிடிப்பு தளத்தில் மமீதா பைஜூவை பார்த்ததாகவும், அவரை இந்தப் படத்திற்கு தேர்வு செய்தது மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்ததாகவும் கூறினார்.

‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’ படத்தை நடிகர் சரத்குமாருடன் திரையரங்கில் பார்த்த அனுபவத்தையும் அவர் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டார்.

“சரத்குமார் எந்தப் படத்தைப் பார்த்தாலும் அதில் என்ன குறை இருக்கிறது, இன்னும் எப்படி சிறப்பாக செய்திருக்கலாம் என்று விமர்சனம் செய்வார். ஆனால் இந்தப் படத்தைப் பார்த்தவுடன் ‘I love this movie. நன்றாக இருக்கிறது’ என்றார்” என ராதிகா கூறினார்.

படத்தின் எழுத்தை வெகுவாகப் பாராட்டிய அவர், “இந்தப் படத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு கதாபாத்திரமும் தனக்கான நியாயத்துடன் நேர்மையாகப் பேசுகிறது. குடும்பத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டு உருவான நல்ல திரைப்படமாக ‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’ இருக்கிறது. ‘சூரியவம்சம்’ படத்திற்குப் பிறகு நான் மிகவும் ரசித்த குடும்பப் படம் இது”

நடிகை மமீதா பைஜூ, படத்திற்கு ஆதரவு அளித்த ஊடகங்களுக்கும் ரசிகர்களுக்கும் நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.

“‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’ படக்குழுவினருக்கு வாழ்த்துக்கள். எனக்கு ஆதரவாக இருந்த அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி. சூர்யா சாரை மிஸ் செய்கிறோம். இந்தப் படத்தை இன்னும் பார்க்காதவர்கள் திரையரங்கிற்கு சென்று பார்க்க வேண்டும். படம் பார்த்துவிட்டு வெளியே வரும்போது மனதிற்குள் ஒரு மனநிறைவு ஏற்படும்” என்றார்.

“வெங்கி – ஜி.வி. பிரகாஷ் கூட்டணி ஹாட்ரிக் அடித்திருக்கிறது”

இசையமைப்பாளர் ஜி.வி. பிரகாஷ் குமார், இயக்குநர் வெங்கி அட்லூரியுடன் தொடர்ந்து மூன்றாவது முறையாக இணைந்து பணியாற்றியிருப்பதை குறிப்பிட்டு, இந்தக் கூட்டணி ஹாட்ரிக் வெற்றியைப் பெற்றிருப்பதாக மகிழ்ச்சி தெரிவித்தார்.

“‘வாத்தி’ படத்தில் வெங்கியுடன் முதன்முறையாக இணைந்தேன். அந்தப் படம் மிகப்பெரிய வெற்றி பெற்றது. அதன் பிறகு ‘லக்கி பாஸ்கர்’. அதுவும் மிகப்பெரிய வெற்றி. தற்போது ‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’. தொடர்ந்து மூன்று படங்களும் வெற்றி பெற்றுள்ளன. வெங்கி ஹாட்ரிக் அடித்திருக்கிறார்” என்றார்.

‘வாத்தி’ திரைப்படத்தின் மூலம் தனக்கு தெலுங்கு திரையுலகில் கிடைத்த வாய்ப்புகளுக்கும் வெங்கியே முக்கிய காரணம் என்று தெரிவித்தார்.

“ஹைதராபாத்தில் தற்போது வேறு ஒரு படத்தின் பணிக்காக சென்றிருந்தபோது, என்னை சந்தித்த பலரும் ‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’ படத்தின் இசை பிரமாதமாக இருக்கிறது என்று பாராட்டினார்கள். அவர்களாக முன்வந்து இசையையும் என்னுடைய பணியையும் பாராட்டியது உண்மையில் பெருமையாக இருந்தது. அதுதான் உண்மையான வெற்றி” என்றார்.

இப்படத்திற்காக இறுதிக்கட்டத்தில் வெறும் மூன்று நாட்களில் இரண்டு பாடல்களை உருவாக்கியதாகவும், அந்தப் பாடல்கள் தற்போது ரசிகர்களிடம் மிகப்பெரிய வரவேற்பைப் பெற்றிருப்பதாகவும் தெரிவித்தார்.

சூர்யாவுக்கும் இது முக்கியமான ஆண்டு என்று குறிப்பிட்ட ஜி.வி. பிரகாஷ், அடுத்தடுத்து வெற்றிப் படங்களை வழங்கி வரும் அவர், அடுத்த படத்திலும் ரசிகர்களை மகிழ்விப்பார் என நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்தார்.

நிகழ்ச்சியின் முக்கிய உரையில் இயக்குநர் வெங்கி அட்லூரி, படத்தை வெற்றியடையச் செய்த ரசிகர்களுக்கும் ஊடகங்களுக்கும் நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.

“‘வாத்தி’, ‘லக்கி பாஸ்கர்’ ஆகிய படங்களுக்கு நீங்கள் அளித்த ஆதரவைப் போலவே இந்தப் படத்திற்கும் ஆதரவு அளித்திருக்கிறீர்கள். குறிப்பாக, முதன்முறையாக தமிழில் நான் இயக்கிய படத்திற்கு இத்தகைய வரவேற்பு கிடைத்திருப்பது மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறது” என்றார்.

பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கான சிறப்புக் காட்சி திரையிடப்பட்டபோது ஏற்பட்ட பதற்றத்தையும் அவர் வெளிப்படையாக பகிர்ந்துகொண்டார்.

“படம் முடிந்ததும் பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் என்ன சொல்லப் போகிறார்கள் என்ற பதற்றத்தில் என் கால்கள் நடுங்கின. ஆனால் படம் முடிந்தவுடன் ஒவ்வொருவரும் என்னைப் பாராட்டினார்கள், கை குலுக்கினார்கள், கட்டியணைத்தார்கள். அவர்களின் அன்பை வெளிப்படுத்திய அந்த தருணத்தை என்னால் மறக்கவே முடியாது” என்றார்.

மமீதா பைஜூவை பாராட்டிய வெங்கி, அவரை “தூய ஆத்மா” என்று குறிப்பிட்டதுடன், வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தால் மீண்டும் அவருடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்ற விரும்புவதாக தெரிவித்தார்.

ஜி.வி. பிரகாஷ் குமாருடனான தனது உறவு குறித்துப் பேசிய அவர், “முதலில் அவரை சார் என்று அழைப்பதா, ப்ரோ என்று அழைப்பதா என்று கேட்டேன். ‘ப்ரோ’ என்று அழைக்கச் சொன்னார். இப்போது நாங்கள் உண்மையிலேயே சகோதரர்களாகிவிட்டோம்” என்றார்.

ஒரு பாடல் முழுமையாக முடிந்த பிறகும் அது வேண்டாம் என்று கூறினால் கூட, எந்த தயக்கமும் இல்லாமல் மீண்டும் புதிய பாடலை உருவாக்கித் தருவார் என ஜி.வி. பிரகாஷின் அர்ப்பணிப்பையும் அவர் பாராட்டினார்.

சூர்யா குறித்து பேசிய வெங்கி அட்லூரி, கதையைச் சொன்னபோது எந்தவித தயக்கமும் இல்லாமல் குடும்பக் கதையில் நடிக்க சூர்யா சம்மதித்ததாகக் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

“அவருடைய எதிர்பார்ப்பு என்ன என்பது குறித்து எதுவும் சொல்லாமல், இந்தக் குடும்பக் கதையை கேட்டவுடன் நடிக்க ஒப்புக்கொண்டார். இயல்பிலேயே அவருக்குள் இருக்கும் துணிச்சல்தான் இந்த வெற்றிக்கு முக்கிய காரணம் என்று நினைக்கிறேன். ரசிகர்கள் மீது அவர் வைத்திருக்கும் அன்பை எதனுடனும் ஒப்பிட முடியாது” என்றார்.

மேலும், படம் ரூ.150 கோடி வசூலைக் கடந்ததாகத் தகவல் கிடைத்தபோது ஏற்பட்ட மகிழ்ச்சியையும் அவர் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டார்.

“இப்போதுதான் திரையுலகைச் சேர்ந்த ஒருவர் சூர்யாவின் ‘விஸ்வநாத் & சன்ஸ்’ ரூ.150 கோடி வசூலைக் கடந்துவிட்டதாகச் சொன்னார். அதைக் கேட்கும்போது எனக்கு சிலிர்த்தது. சூர்யா ரசிகர்களுக்கு எப்போதும் புதுவிதமான விருந்தை வழங்குவதையே முக்கியமாகப் பார்க்கிறார். அதுவும் ரசிகர்கள் மீதான ஒரு வகையான அன்புதான்” என்றார்.

Produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas and directed by Venky Atluri, Vishwanath & Sons, starring Suriya, released in theatres on August 14. The film, which revolves around family bonds, love, relationships and human emotions, has received a strong response from audiences and is continuing its successful theatrical run.

To celebrate the film’s reception and thank audiences and the media, a special success meet was held in Chennai, attended by members of the cast and crew. Beyond the usual celebrations, the team spoke candidly about the film’s writing, Suriya’s decision to take up a family-oriented subject, Venky Atluri’s vision and G.V. Prakash Kumar’s music.

“It is not just Venky’s art, it is his heart”

Speaking at the event, lyricist Balaji Venugopal said that Vishwanath & Sons holds a special place in his career.

“For the past 23 years, speaking has been my profession. I have worked as an RJ and hosted thousands of stage events. I have also stepped onto the stage as a filmmaker and for directing a web series. But this is the first time I am standing on a stage as a lyricist. This is a very important moment for me,” he said.

He revealed that he collaborated with Arunraja Kamaraj for the first time on the songs of the film and expressed his gratitude to G.V. Prakash Kumar.

“Whenever I step onto a stage related to cinema, the first person I thank is G.V. Prakash Kumar. In 2003, when he was composing for Veyil, he played ‘Uruguthe Maruguthe’ for me and asked whether the song would reach audiences. Today, everyone knows how far he has come. He has won three National Awards. G.V. is not just my friend; he is my mentor,” he said.

Balaji also praised director Venky Atluri, describing him as a filmmaker whose work comes from the heart.

“The Vishwanath & Sons you have watched and enjoyed is not just Venky’s art; it is his heart. I read the screenplay almost a year ago and became emotional at several places. He has translated those emotions beautifully onto the screen. He has a very bright future ahead,” he added.

Recalling his first interaction with Suriya during the Ghajini days, Balaji said the actor’s humility had left a lasting impression on him.

“I interviewed Suriya in 2003 for Ghajini. He arrived five minutes late because of an elevator issue at our office, but he immediately apologised for the delay. That quality of humility and humanity is one of the reasons why he continues to have such a massive fan following,” he said.

“I was nervous about acting alongside Suriya, but he made me comfortable”

Actress Bhavani Sre said she was delighted to be part of the film, despite having a relatively small role.

“I am extremely happy. I am glad to have played a small part in this film. Though my role was small, the director had written it very well. I thank him for giving me the character of Meghna,” she said.

Recalling her experience of working with Suriya, Bhavani said, “I had watched and admired Suriya on screen since I was young. So, when I was told that I would be acting with him, I was nervous. But once I reached the sets, he spoke to me very naturally. He encouraged me by saying that Meghna was a good character and that I should perform it well. After that, my fear disappeared.”

She also praised Radhika Sarathkumar and Mamitha Baiju, calling them “two powerhouses” and adding that every scene featuring them felt special.

“Suriya’s courage to take up this subject is commendable”

Radhika Sarathkumar thanked the media and audiences for making the film a success and praised its ability to connect with viewers through a simple, emotionally driven narrative.

“In today’s world, capturing and retaining people’s attention has become difficult. But this film has taken its time to tell a story with love and affection, and has achieved success. I feel proud to be standing here and witnessing this,” she said.

Radhika revealed that when Venky narrated the story to her, she was surprised that Suriya had agreed to perform several scenes in the film.

“I asked Venky, ‘Has Suriya agreed to act in all these scenes?’ He told me that Suriya had agreed to everything,” she recalled.

She also spoke about the casting of Mamitha Baiju, revealing that she had first noticed the actress on the sets of Dude.

Radhika further praised the film after watching it in theatres with her husband Sarathkumar.

“Whenever Sarath watches a film, he usually points out what could have been done differently. But after watching this film, he simply said, ‘I love this movie. It is very good,’” she revealed.

Praising Venky’s writing, Radhika said, “Every character in this film speaks intelligently and honestly, with their own justification. It is a wonderful family film. After Suryavamsam, Vishwanath & Sons is one of the family entertainers I have truly enjoyed.”

“Those who haven’t watched it yet should experience it in theatres”

Mamitha Baiju congratulated the entire team and thanked the media and audiences for their support.

“We miss Suriya sir. Thank you to the media and audiences for making this film a success. Those who haven’t watched the film yet should go to theatres and experience it. When you walk out after watching the film, you will feel a sense of emotional fulfilment,” she said.

“Venky and I have scored a hat-trick”

Composer G.V. Prakash Kumar expressed his gratitude to the producers and director Venky Atluri.

“I first worked with Venky on Vaathi. That film became a huge success. Then we worked together on Lucky Baskhar, which was also a big success. Now we have Vishwanath & Sons. So, Venky has scored a hat-trick with three consecutive successful films,” he said.

He also credited Venky for opening doors for him in the Telugu film industry.

“The songs from Vaathi became successful in both Tamil and Telugu. I subsequently received several opportunities from the Telugu film industry. Venky was one of the key reasons for that,” he said.

G.V. Prakash revealed that people in Hyderabad had recently praised the music of Vishwanath & Sons when they met him.

“When people came forward and appreciated the music and my work in this film, it genuinely made me proud. I consider that the real success,” he said.

The composer also revealed that two songs were created in just three days during the final stage of production and have now become major hits.

“You never know when a magical moment will happen in music. Sometimes, magic happens unexpectedly. That is what happened with this film,” he added.

Director Venky Atluri thanked the audience and media for embracing his first Tamil directorial venture.

“I had received immense support for Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar, and I am extremely grateful that the same support has been extended to my first Tamil film,” he said.

Recalling the media screening, Venky admitted that he was extremely nervous before hearing the journalists’ reactions.

“When the film ended, I was worried about what the journalists would say. My legs were literally trembling. But once the film ended, everyone came forward to appreciate me. They shook my hand, hugged me and expressed their love. I will never forget that moment,” he said.

Venky also expressed his gratitude to Mamitha Baiju, G.V. Prakash Kumar, Radhika Sarathkumar, Bhavani Sre, Sunil and distributor Lingasamy for their contribution to the film.

Speaking about his bond with G.V. Prakash Kumar, Venky said, “When I first met him, I asked whether I should call him ‘sir’ or ‘bro’. He told me to call him ‘bro’. Today, we have genuinely become brothers. We have worked together on three films.”

He praised the composer’s commitment, saying that G.V. Prakash would willingly create another song if Venky felt that an already completed song did not suit the film.

“Suriya always wants to give his fans something different”

Venky Atluri reserved special praise for Suriya and his willingness to experiment with different genres.

“Suriya is not here today, but his love and support are always with us. When I narrated the story to him, he did not question the expectations or ask for anything specific. He simply listened to this family story and agreed to act in it. I believe the courage that he naturally possesses is one of the biggest reasons for this success,” Venky said.

He also spoke about Suriya’s deep connection with his fans.

“The love Suriya has for his fans cannot be compared with anything else. He always considers it important to give his fans something new. That is also a form of love towards his audience,” he added.

Venky also expressed his happiness upon learning that the film had crossed the ₹150 crore mark at the box office.

“I was recently told by someone from the film industry that Vishwanath & Sons has crossed ₹150 crore. I got goosebumps when I heard it. I sincerely thank every fan who bought a ticket and every audience member who applauded the film in theatres,” he said.

Concluding the event on an emotional note, Venky said, “Please continue to support not just Vishwanath & Sons, but the Vishwanath family.”
