‘மொத ராத்திரி’ — சிறிய பட்ஜெட்டில் பெரிய நம்பிக்கையை விதைக்கும் புதிய முயற்சி

சிறிய பட்ஜெட்டில் உருவாகும் படங்களும் வலுவான கதையாலும், திறமையான படைப்பாளிகளாலும் ரசிகர்களை கவர முடியும் என்பதை தொடர்ந்து நிரூபித்து வருகிறது தமிழ் சினிமா. அந்த வரிசையில், புதுமுகங்கள் பலரின் உழைப்பில் உருவாகியுள்ள ‘மொத ராத்திரி’ திரைப்படம், ஆகஸ்ட் 21-ம் தேதி உலகம் முழுவதும் வெளியாக தயாராகியுள்ளது.

மைத்ரி மூவி மேக்கர்ஸ் நிறுவனம் தயாரித்துள்ள இப்படத்தை ராஜா கருப்பசாமி இயக்கியுள்ளார். ரிஷிகாந்த், அனிஷ்மா அனில்குமார் ஆகியோர் முதன்மை கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடித்துள்ளனர். படப்பிடிப்பு முழுமையாக நிறைவடைந்துள்ள நிலையில், படத்தின் டிரெய்லர் வெளியீட்டு விழா சென்னையில் நடைபெற்றது.

வழக்கமான பிரம்மாண்ட படங்களின் வரிசையில் அல்லாமல், ஒரு கதையை மையமாக வைத்து உருவாகியுள்ள இந்தப் படத்தின் மீது தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனமும் படக்குழுவினரும் வைத்திருக்கும் நம்பிக்கையே விழா முழுவதும் வெளிப்பட்டது.

தயாரிப்பாளர் ரவி சங்கர், இயக்குநர் ராஜா கருப்பசாமி கதை கூறிய உடனேயே அது தங்களை கவர்ந்ததாக தெரிவித்தார். குறைந்த பட்ஜெட்டில் உருவான நல்ல கதையம்சம் கொண்ட படங்கள் சமீபத்தில் ரசிகர்களின் ஆதரவை பெற்றிருப்பதை சுட்டிக்காட்டிய அவர், ‘மொத ராத்திரி’யும் அந்த வரிசையில் வெற்றி பெறும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையை வெளிப்படுத்தினார்.

படத்தில் நடித்துள்ள சேத்தன், இயக்குநர் ராஜா கருப்பசாமி கதை சொன்னபோதே குடும்பத்துடன் அமர்ந்து கேட்டு சிரித்ததாக குறிப்பிட்டார். முதலில் தனது மனைவியை நடிக்க வைக்க திட்டமிடப்பட்டிருந்ததாகவும், தேதிகள் ஒத்துவராததால் அது சாத்தியமாகவில்லை என்றும் அவர் கூறினார். புதுமுக படைப்பாளிகளுக்கு தொடர்ந்து வாய்ப்பு வழங்கி வரும் மைத்ரி மூவி மேக்கர்ஸ் நிறுவனத்துக்கும் அவர் நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.

படத்தின் நாயகன் ரிஷிகாந்துக்கு இந்த திரைப்படம் ஒரு முக்கியமான திருப்பமாக அமையும் என விழாவில் பேசிய பலரும் குறிப்பிட்டனர். இயக்குநர்கள் ஸ்ரீகணேஷ், கார்த்திக் சுப்புராஜ், ‘அயலான்’ ரவிக்குமார் உள்ளிட்டோர் ரிஷிகாந்தின் நடிப்பை பாராட்டினர். கதாபாத்திரத்தை உள்வாங்கி இயல்பாக நடிக்கும் திறமை அவரிடம் இருப்பதாகவும், இந்தப் படம் அவரை அடுத்த கட்டத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லும் என்றும் அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்தனர்.

படத்தின் இசையமைப்பாளர் பரத் சங்கர், இயக்குநர் ராஜா கருப்பசாமி எளிமையான மனிதராக இருந்தாலும், அவரது படைப்பு அதற்கு மாறாக வலிமையாக உருவாகியுள்ளதாக தெரிவித்தார். ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் சுரேஷ் பரஞ்சோதி மற்றும் எடிட்டர் அசோக் அர்ஜூனன் உள்ளிட்ட தொழில்நுட்பக் கலைஞர்களும் தங்களுக்கு கிடைத்த வாய்ப்புக்கு தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனத்துக்கு நன்றி தெரிவித்தனர்.

நாயகி அனிஷ்மா, இப்படத்தில் ‘முத்து செல்வி’ என்ற கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்திருப்பதாகவும், தன்னை தேர்வு செய்த இயக்குநர் மற்றும் தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனத்துக்கு நன்றி என்றும் தெரிவித்தார்.

இயக்குநர் ராஜா கருப்பசாமி, தனது சொந்த அனுபவங்களில் இருந்து உருவான கதைதான் ‘மொத ராத்திரி’ எனக் குறிப்பிட்டார். தூத்துக்குடியில் இருந்து சென்னைக்கு வந்து சினிமா பயணத்தை தொடங்கிய தனக்கு உறுதுணையாக இருந்த நண்பர்கள், குடும்பத்தினர் மற்றும் அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி தெரிவித்த அவர், தனது கதையின் ஆன்மாவை புரிந்துகொண்டு படத்தை உருவாக்க வாய்ப்பு வழங்கிய மைத்ரி மூவி மேக்கர்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தையும் பாராட்டினார். மேலும், தனது வாழ்க்கையில் இடம்பெற்ற அனைத்து பெண்களுக்கும் இந்தப் படத்தை சமர்ப்பிப்பதாக உணர்வுபூர்வமாக தெரிவித்தார்.

‘Modha Raathiri’ Trailer Launched: A Promising New Film Backed by a Strong Story and Fresh Talent

The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on August 21

Tamil cinema has repeatedly proved that a film does not necessarily need a massive budget or a star-studded cast to connect with audiences. A strong story, talented performers and committed filmmaking can create the right impact. Joining this growing list is ‘Modha Raathiri’, an upcoming film that brings together several fresh talents and is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on August 21.

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is directed by Raja Karuppasamy, with Rishikanth and Anishma Anilkumar playing the lead roles. The film’s shooting has been successfully completed, and its trailer was unveiled at a special launch event attended by several members of the film fraternity.

The trailer launch event reflected the confidence that the production house and the entire team have placed in the film. Rather than relying on grandeur, ‘Modha Raathiri’ appears to be driven by its story, characters and the performances of its actors.

Producer Ravi Shankar said that the team immediately connected with Raja Karuppasamy’s story when he narrated the script. Pointing to the success of several small-budget films with strong content in recent times, he expressed confidence that ‘Modha Raathiri’ too would receive the support of audiences.

Actor Chetan recalled listening to the story with his family and enjoying it from the very beginning. He revealed that his wife was initially approached for a role in the film, but could not be part of the project due to date issues. He thanked Mythri Movie Makers for encouraging new talents and supporting films with fresh teams.

The film is also expected to be an important milestone for lead actor Rishikanth. Directors Sri Ganesh, Karthik Subbaraj and ‘Ayalaan’ fame R. Ravikumar, among others, praised his performance and expressed confidence in his growth as a leading actor.

Director Karthik Subbaraj said that watching the film gave him the feeling of watching a film from veteran filmmaker-actor K. Bhagyaraj’s school of storytelling, while appreciating the performances of the entire cast.

Director R. Ravikumar highlighted that a filmmaker’s ability lies in choosing what kind of story to bring to the screen. He praised Raja Karuppasamy for his approach and said the film makes it evident that Rishikanth has taken a significant step forward as a hero.

Director Paari described ‘Modha Raathiri’ as a film that could inspire several aspiring filmmakers who come to cinema with dreams from smaller towns and villages. He observed that while big films can excite audiences, smaller films often have the ability to surprise them, and urged audiences to extend their support to the movie.

Music composer Bharath Sankar praised director Raja Karuppasamy’s simplicity and said that although the filmmaker is a straightforward person, the film itself has shaped up in a striking manner. Editor Ashok Arjun and cinematographer Suresh Paranjothi also thanked Mythri Movie Makers for placing their trust in new talents and giving them an opportunity to be part of the project.

Lead actress Anishma Anilkumar expressed her gratitude to the director and production house for selecting her for the film. She revealed that she plays a character named Muthu Selvi.

Director Raja Karuppasamy shared that the story of ‘Modha Raathiri’ has been shaped by his own experiences. He expressed his gratitude to cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman, whose contribution he described as instrumental in bringing the film to life. He also thanked his family, friends and everyone who supported his journey from Thoothukudi to Chennai.

Raja Karuppasamy further thanked Mythri Movie Makers for understanding the soul of his story and giving him the opportunity to bring it to the big screen. He dedicated the film to all the women who have been part of his life.

For Rishikanth, ‘Modha Raathiri’ represents the culmination of a long journey. Revealing that the story was initially developed as a short film, he said the project evolved over nearly six years before becoming a feature film. He thanked the director for standing by him and the producers for believing in the story.

Expressing his happiness at being part of a good film, Rishikanth said he is confident that audiences will be able to enjoy ‘Modha Raathiri’ as a family entertainer and urged moviegoers to watch it in theatres.

With a team comprising several new-generation talents and a story rooted in the director’s experiences, ‘Modha Raathiri’ arrives without relying on conventional star power, instead placing its faith in its characters, storytelling and performances.
