31ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு மீண்டும் இணையும் பிரபு–சுகன்யா… தென் தமிழக களத்தில் ‘மேரிகோல்ட்’!

தென் தமிழகத்தின் மண் வாசனையையும், அப்பகுதி மக்களின் வாழ்வியலையும் மையமாகக் கொண்டு உருவாகும் புதிய திரைப்படம் ‘மேரிகோல்ட்’. டிரைடெண்ட் ஆர்ட்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தின் 21-வது தயாரிப்பாக உருவாகும் இப்படத்தை ஆர். ரவீந்திரன் தயாரிக்கிறார். பிரியன் ராஜேந்திரன் இயக்குகிறார். சுதர்சன் இணை தயாரிப்பாளராக பணியாற்றுகிறார்.

திருநெல்வேலி மற்றும் தூத்துக்குடியை கதைக்களமாகக் கொண்டுள்ள ‘மேரிகோல்ட்’, அந்த இரு பகுதிகளைச் சேர்ந்த கதாபாத்திரங்களுக்கு இடையிலான போட்டி, உறவுகள், உணர்வுகள் மற்றும் வித்தியாசமான வாழ்வியல் சம்பவங்களை சுவாரஸ்யமான திரைக்கதையுடன் சொல்லும் குடும்பப் படமாக உருவாகிறது.

இப்படத்தின் முக்கிய சிறப்பம்சமாக, 31 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு நடிகர் பிரபுவும் நடிகை சுகன்யாவும் மீண்டும் இணைந்து நடிக்கின்றனர். ‘செந்தமிழ்ப் பாட்டு’, ‘சின்ன மாப்ளே’, ‘மிஸ்டர் மெட்ராஸ்’ உள்ளிட்ட படங்களில் இணைந்து நடித்திருந்த இந்த ஜோடி, நீண்ட இடைவெளிக்குப் பிறகு ‘மேரிகோல்ட்’ மூலம் மீண்டும் திரையில் சந்திக்கிறது.

பிரபு, சுகன்யாவுடன் ரக்ஷன் மற்றும் நம்ரிதா ஆகியோர் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடிக்கின்றனர். மேலும் சிங்கம்புலி, வடிவுக்கரசி, இமான் அண்ணாச்சி, விவேக் பிரசன்னா, ஸ்டாலின், வடிவேல் முருகன் உள்ளிட்ட பலர் முக்கிய வேடங்களில் இடம்பெறுகின்றனர்.

தென் தமிழகத்தின் இயல்பான காட்சிகளையும் அப்பகுதி மக்களின் அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையையும் திரையில் பதிவு செய்யும் வகையில் இப்படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு அமைகிறது. கதையின் உணர்வையும் களத்தின் தன்மையையும் பிரதிபலிக்கும் வகையில் மல்லிகார்ஜுன் ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்கிறார்.

Prabhu and Sukanya Reunite After 31 Years for ‘Marigold’ Set Against the Backdrop of Southern Tamil Nadu

Chennai, August 13, 2026:
Adding an interesting mix of family emotions, regional flavour and engaging storytelling, Trident Arts has announced its 21st production venture, ‘Marigold’. The film is produced by R. Ravindran and directed by Priyan Rajendran, with Sudarshan serving as co-producer.

Set against the backdrop of Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi, ‘Marigold’ revolves around the lives of characters from the two regions and the intriguing rivalry between them. Blending family emotions with the unique lifestyle and cultural flavour of southern Tamil Nadu, the film promises to present an entertaining story rooted in its setting.

One of the major highlights of the project is the reunion of Prabhu and Sukanya after 31 years. The popular pair, who previously shared the screen in films such as Senthamizh Paattu, Chinna Mappillai and Mr. Madras, are coming together once again for ‘Marigold’.

Alongside Prabhu and Sukanya, Rakshan and Namritha will be seen in prominent roles. The film also features Singampuli, Vadivukkarasi, Imaan Annachi, Vivek Prasanna, Stalin and Vadivel Murugan in important characters.

The film is being mounted with a strong technical team. Mallikarjun is handling the cinematography, while Siddhu Kumar is composing the music. R. Nirmal is taking care of the editing, with G. Dura Raj as the art director. Deepu M is choreographing the songs, while Abishek Srinivasan is handling the stunt choreography.

Sanjay Vijay Raghavan serves as the Creative Producer.

Produced by R. Ravindran under the Trident Arts banner and directed by Priyan Rajendran, ‘Marigold’ brings together the much-awaited reunion of Prabhu and Sukanya along with a strong ensemble cast and a story deeply rooted in the landscape and lifestyle of southern Tamil Nadu.
